Dear Gransnetters
I am making a sincere request for any ideas and policies you think might help me and my government cling on to power keep the country on a strong and stable path. We are willing to consider anything. Sajid has already launched a housing idea, Michael is busy searching through Jeremy's bins for cast offs and Boris has promised to keep his nose out of things is focussing on foreign policy. But I am sure some of you have really good ideas. Don't worry about u-turns I am willing to swivel 360% and more if it will keep me in power is in the country's interests. So please send them to me. Desperately Seeking Solutions Theresa @No.10

Do you go to pubs, Theresa? Somehow, I don't see you like Call-me-Dave, But I could be wrong.
Anyway, you've been banned from pubs in your constituency.

Anything to say?

FarNorth Mon 27-Nov-17 19:41:03

I think MaizieD has it - Rich and Remorseless - it can be portrayed as British determination to take our great country ahead and provide a rich, happy life for everyone except those pesky scroungers and layabouts of course, but that's their own fault.

durhamjen Mon 27-Nov-17 15:49:23

Good try, Theresa. You try really hard at deflection, anyway.

trisher Mon 27-Nov-17 14:29:00

I'm so pleased about the Royal Engagement and I'm really looking forward to 2018-a wedding and a baby! Who needs policies? Who cares about Brexit? It will only make the back pages anyway, huge headlines and pages and pages about the Royals. Thnk Goodness for the distraction.

MaizieD Mon 27-Nov-17 13:09:33

Rich and Remorseless?

trisher Mon 27-Nov-17 10:03:23

Another referendum! Oh come on dj My friend Dave got a shock result from the first one. I got a shock result from the last election. Do you really expect me to go to the public again? They simply can't be trusted.
I'd go with Jeremy of course, he would continue our excellent support of the NHS and help cherry pick the best bits and continue his great work.
Far North I looked carefully at your suggestion, but I'm not sure it is the perfect slogan. Isn't it a bit uncertain? I would like someting more reflective of our strengths.

durhamjen Sun 26-Nov-17 23:48:53

Theresa, if you had a choice of being replaced by Jeremy Hunt or Keir Starmer, who would you choose?

durhamjen Sun 26-Nov-17 17:10:06

Brilliant slogan, FarNorth.
Particularly for the fishing industry; it makes her sound like a wet fish.

FarNorth Sun 26-Nov-17 16:54:34

Or another snap election?
How do you think Flapping and Floundering would go down, as your slogan?

durhamjen Sun 26-Nov-17 11:37:07

You do keep doing that, don't you Theresa.
Why don't you change your mind about the most important topic at the moment, Brexit?
Why don't you try to find out the real will of the people and have another referendum?
You know it makes sense.

trisher Sun 26-Nov-17 11:32:51

When I came on here I expected to get lots of support (someone told me that GN was mostly the demographic that voted for us at the last election). I must say you have surprised me. You are far more confrontational than I expected. You also seem to know what is going on (sometimes far more than the cabinet). dj Did I say that about Manchester? Well guess what- I changed my mind!!!!

FarNorth Sat 25-Nov-17 19:39:56

Oh dear, Theresa.
When you came on here, I hoped you were starting to be interested in what the Great British Public thinks but, looking at that report about Manchester, it seems not.

durhamjen Sat 25-Nov-17 14:22:46

Theresa, can we please have a policy of sticking to your policies? Otherwise, just don't promise things you are not prepared to deliver, particularly for people in the North.

"Theresa May has delivered a slap in the face to the people of Manchester, showing once again that she is running a country that works only for the rich – and not for everyone as her lying propaganda claims.

After the Manchester Arena Bombing last May, she promised the city, “Whatever you need, it’s there.” Now she has gone back on that promise. It was a lie.

The total cost of the bombing to the public, for police, health and council services, came to £17 million but, in a letter to Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, Mrs May has offered to pay only £12 million.

She has told Mr Burnham that this is “reasonable”. The people of Manchester are likely to take a different view.

Mrs May’s decision shows her contempt for the city – especially when we consider the huge amounts of cash she has pulled from her Magic Money Tree for other purposes, while still claiming there is no money available for the rest of us."

If you want to work on our international status, Theresa, you really need to get rid of the fox.

mostlyharmless Thu 23-Nov-17 11:04:57

Oh yes coffee shops. Our only growth industry!

trisher Thu 23-Nov-17 11:01:46

I'm so glad you raised this mostly I am working on our International Status. I have had extensive discussions with my hubby and his pals and have had an idea for gaining financial investment by creating tax haven offering inducements. This would make us really popular internationally -at least with the super rich--.
I'm also getting rid of all the workers for the EU in London the EMA and the EBA have already gone. But don't worry there will be lots of new jobs in coffee shops on zero hours contracts

mostlyharmless Thu 23-Nov-17 10:45:55

Theresa could we please have a policy of restoring at least a bit of pride or self respect in our country (not empire or anything like that).
We seem to have lost our status of a reliable, honest, wise and stable country. Boris makes us a figure of fun in world affairs, Brexit just causes incredulity in Europe and beyond, we've lost out to India on The International Court of Judges, may well lose our G7 position as we have sunk from top of G7 to bottom in growth in just four years!
Can you do something to improve our international status please?

durhamjen Wed 22-Nov-17 18:50:29

He would have done even better if he'd given £350 million to the Metro, instead of £335 million.
Showing a lack of imagination there.

FarNorth Wed 22-Nov-17 18:28:28

That seems like a rather clever move. Now you can say "We did give £350 million to the NHS, as promised."
And, once again, lots of people will believe it!
Good old Phil.

durhamjen Wed 22-Nov-17 18:27:13

Is this really how it went last night when you were discussing it?

twitter.com/UKLabour/status/933247447429627904

durhamjen Wed 22-Nov-17 18:19:34

Rather childish of Philip today, to give the NHS an extra £350 million to cover the whole of the winter season.
Was that his idea, or yours?

FarNorth Wed 22-Nov-17 15:22:36

Reclassification of what absolute poverty actually means?

trisher Wed 22-Nov-17 15:11:31

I thought it was Waitrose delivering!! I have a new phrase, "absolute poverty" You will be pleased to know the numbers living in absolute poverty have fallen. So now I will no longer discuss poverty only absolute poverty I'm not sure why the numbers have fallen starvation, hypothermia, no healthcare but they have.

durhamjen Wed 22-Nov-17 08:58:42

Did you enjoy your Christmas present yesterday, Theresa?
I think you can share it with your hard up chancellor.

twitter.com/SocialistVoice/status/933057196769861632

Sorry it's on RT, but I never saw it on any UK newsfeed.

durhamjen Tue 21-Nov-17 23:07:26

What happened, Theresa, to that bloody difficult woman?
