Dear Gransnetters
I am making a sincere request for any ideas and policies you think might help me and my government cling on to power keep the country on a strong and stable path. We are willing to consider anything. Sajid has already launched a housing idea, Michael is busy searching through Jeremy's bins for cast offs and Boris has promised to keep his nose out of things is focussing on foreign policy. But I am sure some of you have really good ideas. Don't worry about u-turns I am willing to swivel 360% and more if it will keep me in power is in the country's interests. So please send them to me. Desperately Seeking Solutions Theresa @No.10

Have you ever thought about sacking yourself, Theresa?

Well then, what a time to come back.
Are you brave enough to sack the miscreants? You do realise they are all Brixiteers, don't you?

Soon you will be the only PM standing, the sex starved ones will out looking for a bit of nookie, some will have resigned before they are fired and those who stay too long will find themselves pushed with their P45 and at the front door.

Well I'm back! Snap Elections Far North? I hate elections. They are so unreliable. Look at the Labour Party 2 leadership elections and they still finished up with Corbyn. And there was that Referendum that did for Dave. And they promised me a landslide last time. I'm just clinging on.
And while I've been away Boris and Priti have kindly distracted everyone by behaving like absolute prats and made couple of mistakes. Almost makes you glad I'm running things doesn't it?
What did I do as Minister for Women and Equalities JessM sucked up to enough people paved the way for the second woman PM (Oh that's ME)

FarNorth Mon 30-Oct-17 19:42:42

Have a lovely break, Theresa.
While you're away, please don't give any thought to holding a snap election.

whitewave Mon 30-Oct-17 16:14:35

I think she is miffed at Bercow’s response to her letter asking for help over her sex starved ministers. He told her to get he4 act together. I reckon that she is clueless so is laying low for a while.

JessM Mon 30-Oct-17 16:10:02

In the meantime if anyone could remind me what She-who-would-like-to-be-obeyed achieved during the period she held the Minister for Women and Equalities brief...

MaizieD Mon 30-Oct-17 11:25:22

Yes; thanks for the thread. I've enjoyed it. Have a good break.

GracesGranMK2 Mon 30-Oct-17 09:19:22

That gives me a chance to thank you for a most interesting and amusing (if in a slightly dark way grin) thread. I may not have contributed but I have loved reading it. Have a lovely time and I look forward to seeing a renewed enthusiasm for government when you get back.

durhamjen Mon 30-Oct-17 08:30:22

Hope it's an enjoyable break, and that you manage to mull over all our ideas and come back with some better policies than you left with.

durhamjen Mon 30-Oct-17 08:24:56

Going surreptitiously to Brussels?

I have just been reading on Bloomberg that the EU has offered the UK two extra rounds of talks before December, but so far the UK has not responded to this offer.
Or have you?

trisher Mon 30-Oct-17 07:27:05

Why topmost? to post!!!

trisher Mon 30-Oct-17 07:26:42

Regretfully I will be unable topmost on here for the next week. I hope to be back on 6th Nov, but as we all know a week is a long time in politics and anything could happen.

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 22:18:29

Wow! has Harry Leslie Smith got Hunt right?

Second one down. Daren't put the picture file on here.

I would be pleased if May would sort out the tax system so those who have committed tax fraud could be made to pay up.

Mind, most of the policies that we have been requesting she says she already has in hand anyway, including tax fraud.
I think the request in the OP was just an exercise in buying time. Is that right, Theresa?

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 22:06:56

She knows, mostlyharmless. She used to get weekly reports about them when she was home office minister, so the whips could bribe them.
Not that she has admitted it on here, of course.

varian Sun 29-Oct-17 21:57:36

Well said, jura and can we add forbid forign citizens and tax exiles from owning national newspapers?

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 21:56:20

But don't we pay them extra to sleep in the Lords - £300 a day, I think.
Imagine what the homeless would be able to do with that.

That's an idea.
I would be very pleased if you could show your compassion for the homeless by building them homes instead of subsidising the bishops in the Lords.
After all, it's a government for everyone, isn't it?

mostlyharmless Sun 29-Oct-17 21:52:41

Dear Theresa, you really should weed out the sex pests from the cabinet. You undoubtedly already know who they are.

But you haven't a great record on investigating sexual abuse have you? Did you deliberately sabotage that enquiry?

It can't be a surprise to you that the Tory party is riddled with sexual abuse can it? But then Margaret Thatcher appointed known paedophiles to her office when she was PM.

jura2 Sun 29-Oct-17 21:38:30

This was not an anti-religion comment - just that religion, or lack of, is a private matter. It should never be mixed with schools nor government and judiciary. That's all. What people do in their private lives is of no concern of mine. Each to to their own.

trisher Sun 29-Oct-17 21:34:08

Some would say they are better kept sleeping in the Lords than being out and about dj

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 21:15:56

The bishops can get on with the day job, surely. They don't have to be in the Lords. In fact they are probably all asleep there. It would be doing them a favour.

trisher Sun 29-Oct-17 21:14:04

Abolish religious schools! Daddy was vicar you know (although we don't talk about him) And what would we do with the bishops?

durhamjen Sun 29-Oct-17 21:14:01

I would be very pleased if she did all those, jura.
I would also be amazed, considering how much all her friends make out of the education system.

jura2 Sun 29-Oct-17 20:24:21

Abolish all religious schools, State or Private, and remove charitable status for Private Schools. And Reform House of Lords to reflect the reality of UK today - hopefully no religious appointments, or at least representative of population at large.
