Why hasn't she been sacked already? She goes in holiday, holds 10 meetings with a range of senior figures, including BN without telling the FO and even worse, suggesting that BJ knew about it in advance. Downing Street says she has been reminded ' of the obligations which exist under the ministerial code ' -oh you mean doing what you want in foreign countries and then lying about it?

Well Laura and Robert are tweeting that she’s on her way out - more secret meetings coming to light and some India connection?

maryeliza54 Tue 07-Nov-17 22:52:44

She does really seem to be in more trouble now - I wonder when she’s due back from Africa- don’t know exactly where she’s gone - probably having meetings with Robert and Grace Mugabe and offering aid money for his new bathroom. ?

Sounds as if she's going to be sacked [unless it's false news...]

GracesGranMK2 Tue 07-Nov-17 21:52:21

A memory of times past. I would suggest a serial liar.

Jalima1108 Tue 07-Nov-17 18:53:35

even if she is not sure herself.

whitewave Tue 07-Nov-17 18:38:26

Apparently Patel is off to somewhere in Africa - assume the FO knows where.

Jalima1108 Tue 07-Nov-17 18:34:56

Well, even if she sacks them she will not lose her slender majority unless we have a GE and they are not re-elected (or are de-selected).

Not disagreeing, just pointing out that they would still be MPs.

If any of the Tories become the PM we just as well pack up and leave!

Telly Tue 07-Nov-17 17:53:30

This government is so weak that it cannot afford any more upset. But yes, she should be sacked and probably would have been under any other circumstances. Personally if Boris becomes PM I may emigrate.

smile gill all in agreement - nice feeling.

Just to remind everyone, in case you were in any doubt, that PP pledged that the £350m per week would be spent on NHS. This was during an interview on Radio 4 Today programme before Brexit vote. When asked on what authority she made this pledge ( she was not in Treasury or Health departments) she started fluffing and unquoting herself. A truly dangerous, nasty piece of work. I am afraid that people like her, and bloody Johnson can get away with absolutely anything, knowing that TM has such a slender majority that she cannot sack them. PP should be sacked and so should Johnson. They are not fit for office. Mind you, on a brighter note, I think this may be the first discussion ever, as far as I can remember, when all of us, irrespective of our politics have been in agreement!

GracesGranMK2 Tue 07-Nov-17 14:38:34

I can only agree Nonnie.

Nonnie Tue 07-Nov-17 14:02:46

I think PP is so arrogant that she thought it was OK to go off and do her own thing and expect that it would be accepted. Surely it is only her arrogance that stops her resigning?

Maybe her crime was being found out?

The latest news is that Patel didn’t just meet PM Benjamin Netanyahu, she came back and formulated policy, including a new plan to give British aid to the Israeli army’s humanitarian efforts. No10 told us yesterday that May had summoned Patel to a meeting and reprimanded her by “reminding her of her obligations under the ministerial code”. May has even asked for the code to be clarified on overseas representation. Cabinet Office ethics chief Sue Gray will not be investigating either Patel or Johnson, but she is investigating whether a minister talked about a sex toy years before he was a minister. This all shows that as well as an independent system for sex harassment complaints, we need a truly independent system in Whitehall for investigating breaches of the ministerial code.

Bloody hell!!

Now Johnson -

Green - extreme pornography
Fallon -resigned dodgy sexual dealings
Blimey I could go on and on.

It is getting ridiculous

jura2 Tue 07-Nov-17 12:59:04

That has actually been confimed by Number 10, that she wanted to divert Foreign Aid money to the Israeli army in illegal occupied territories - and for that she has to be sacked- no question.

whitewave Tue 07-Nov-17 12:55:08

I read that Patel is was “open” to giving aid to the Israeli army!!!

Morgana Tue 07-Nov-17 12:46:11

I thought she was supposed to be far right and very Christian. So what was she talking about in 12 meetings? A friend says she is also very corrupt....

GillT57 Mon 06-Nov-17 23:17:16

PP has been caught out lying and thus should be sacked, but as May is losing MPs like autumn leaves (or should I say conkers?) PP is unlikely to do anything. Her authority is non-existent and she is being made to look foolish and weak.

maryeliza54 Mon 06-Nov-17 22:52:36

What PP did deserves a much harsher condemnation than her bring a prat.

maryeliza54 Mon 06-Nov-17 22:51:43

PP and BJ - the faces we are presenting to the world. Both liars and both jeopardising our future international relations - it would be funny if it weren’t so serious. We are staggering into the abyss - TM cannot keep going surely- we are now at the tipping point.

JessM Mon 06-Nov-17 21:33:18

Absolutely GGMk2

M0nica Mon 06-Nov-17 20:50:06

Priti is a prat and Boris is an embarrassment.

GracesGranMK2 Mon 06-Nov-17 20:02:29

I know Jess but she is part of the far-right, neoliberal gang who have been driving the Tories away from any sense of the old Conservative values and toward as society with few rules and regulations because all they are interested in is a few people getting very rich.

She will continue, as Boris does, to try and move the position of the Government in the direction they desire and May is too fragile to be able to stop people like her, or any of these people who have driven us towards Brexit, not because it would be good for the country but because it will be good for them and their friends.
