When is she going to fire him? (Boris)

Boris may have caused a British Iranian woman’s sentence in Iran to be doubled to 10 years by something Liam Fox calls ‘ a slip of the tongue’.The woman was on holiday with her family in Iran when she was accused of spying. Johnson said she was there teaching journalism which the Iranian authorities leapt on as spreading propaganda. I don’t think May will give him the boot. She fears him too much to let him loose. Meanwhile, the UK, and this poor woman, have to endure the repercussions of his ‘slips of the tongue’.

Jen, you do know that the press regulator IPSO has ruled that skwawkbox creates fake news stories?

Gove thinks Boris is doing a good job as foreign secretary!
Heaven help us.
He is also doing just what Richard Ratcliffe didn't want them to do, and criticising Iran.
So heaven help Nazanin.

It started before Brexit, whitewave.
If Cameron's government had cared, she could have been home before Boris became foreign minister.

Thanks Elrel - it did and I have signed.

MaizieD Sun 12-Nov-17 09:12:57

Thanks, Elrel. Signed

And all this at the same time as Brexit. What a disaster it all is.

Boris is a lazy incompetent with no interest in detail which is why he makes so many gaffes. May keeps him on because she knows he would be more of a threat to her on the back benches. They are all self serving, this government wil possibly go down as the worst government in post war history. Boris sees himself as a Churchill - but he’s more like Churchill the dog than the politician.

Boris and Gove were always friends until Gove stabbed Boris in the back over PM standing.
Gove has some sort of hold over Boris.

I don't understand how some of these politicians disappear only to pop up again confused as if nothing had ever happened. Or are suddenly allies after being enemies.

GracesGranMK2 Sat 11-Nov-17 23:19:30

Perhaps he's touring the politics programmes. That might give us some insight into what, if anything, they are up to.

Tegan2 Sat 11-Nov-17 23:12:49

...just remembered; think they said Gove was being interviewed by Andrew Marr tomorrow; should be interesting...

Tegan2 Sat 11-Nov-17 23:11:05

Just saw this on the telly. What on earth is this country coming to? We just sat there shaking our heads in disbelief [or, what was even worse, realising that stuff like this had become the norm].

GracesGranMK2 Sat 11-Nov-17 22:54:07

Front page of the Mail on Sunday Boris and Gove plot to 'hijack' Number 10 They are talking about a memo to May dictating terms for a hard Brexit.

Can this get any more ridiculous. Surely this means that we, the British people are being held to ransom by some very Machiavellian people. As the country lurches from one crisis to another these people are using a weak May and acting as these Svengali dictate. This is treating 'the people' appallingly.

GracesGranMK2 Sat 11-Nov-17 22:23:41

Can you put a link in Elrel?

Elrel Sat 11-Nov-17 21:22:29

Nazanin Zhagari-Ratcliffe is understood to be in very poor health. Please sign a petition to urge our politicians to work for her release. There are such petitions on Facebook and elsewhere. Lobby your MP if you care about the plight of this family.

Elrel Sat 11-Nov-17 21:16:47

Boris allegedly doesn’t read his briefs.

Tegan2 Sat 11-Nov-17 20:44:50

Something popped up on my facebook page saying that Boris is going to go confused; perhaps they just mean he's going to Iran?? I guess it's just false news of some kind [and I was getting so excited]...

jura2 Sat 11-Nov-17 19:18:28

GG I don't think we are going to get an answer to that, somehow sad

GracesGranMK2 Sat 11-Nov-17 10:21:42

It's the apologists for Iran that I find most disconcerting.

So please quote these so called apologises for Iran Primrose. What is it that they have said to make you think that is their stance?

durhamjen Sat 11-Nov-17 10:07:10

I bet he doesn't think!

GracesGranMK2 Sat 11-Nov-17 10:03:33

But then he goes off and talks about bull-fighting in Spain at an Anglo-Spanish official dinner to improve our relationship with them .

I can only imagine that he is unaware that the sort of division about bull fighting in Spain is similar to the division about hunting in this country. He should not have taken sides on this. In fact, he probably should not have joined in any discussion about it.

It is almost as if he has those comic strip views of people of different countries - including ours. I bet he thinks
