I see the EU Remainers' PROJECT FEAR is alive and well.

I look forward to us leaving the EU.

The scare-mongering Remainers write post after post predicting how awful it will be. (Yes, predicting...)

Anyone would think we were incapable of knowing right from wrong and desperately in need of Brussels to guide us, to make our laws, to impose trading tariffs, generally control us, tell us who we have to accept into the country and take BILLIONS from us for the privilege of that control.

Project Fear - we have recognised it.

We need to get on with leaving the EU, pronto, but Remainers delight in the delays, mostly caused by terrified EU officials worried about EU budgets and the UK forging ahead without it's stranglehold.

Optimism rules. Let's bin Project Fear. We see it for what it is.

Are you surprised ?!? Sitting next to him would be excruciating enough- but having him say he would take his pension for his beloved family - knowing how he has never ever done any work as an MEP or even been there most of the time and the dreadful behaviour towards hiw family - I think I would have throttled him when he said he woud do it out of due care for his family sad

I think Farage just does that to some women - grin

Ayesha Hazarika

The 'woman' is a regular on Paper Reviews / Politics programmes and has had a political career, comedian, commentator and journalist to name some of her past and present jobs.

'From 2007 to 2015, Hazarika served as a political adviser to senior Labour Party figures, including Harriet Harman and Ed Miliband.

After leaving her role working for Harman in the aftermath of the 2015 general election, she was awarded an MBE in the 2016 New Year's Honours List, for political service. '

I usually like her to be honest , even if I don't agree with her but I don't think she was at her best today to be honest and a bit shouty.

Well bully for him as that is what he is getting the grant for!! Many farmers really need their grant to keep afloat and are worried sick about what they will do.

jura2 Sun 03-Dec-17 20:02:34

oh lemong - poor little Farage ;)

CelticRose Sun 03-Dec-17 19:54:02

He is also the biggest private recipient of EU basic farming payment. Which he then invests back into this country...

GracesGranMK2 Sun 03-Dec-17 19:42:45

James Dyson - investing in the electric car and other new technology. The Tory Government backing this sort of technology. I wonder if they share the same handshake too.

lemongrove Sun 03-Dec-17 19:31:57

In any case, she wasn’t a politician, but a columnist and comedienne, Asha or Ayesha something or other.

lemongrove Sun 03-Dec-17 19:27:34

I wouldn’t go down that route if I were you GGM2 as you frequently ask rather basic questions on GN political threads.

Successful businessmen, philanthropists and entrepreneurs - perhaps they should form the Government

I wonder if not recognising familiar political faces tells us anything about political knowledge?

I also wonder if those who currently think they have the power in the CP - obviously not May - will actually listen to Hunt.

lemongrove Sun 03-Dec-17 19:11:21

Hunt is just trying to get some Tory MP’s to toe the line by his comment.

lemongrove Sun 03-Dec-17 19:09:42

Eazybee that’s what I thought too.
The woman (who was she?) on Marr was incredibly rude and seemed to be there just for an arguement, talking over Farage all the time and taking no notice of Marr trying to stop her ( with a hand gesture)
Whatever anyone thinks of Farage, he was polite to her, but didn’t get the same courtesy from her.
I too, thought ‘hold on a minute, this is supposed to be a review of the papers!’

jura2 Sun 03-Dec-17 15:11:59

Yep, he said 'if we don't back Theresa May, there will be no Brexit' - so...

Jalima1108 Sun 03-Dec-17 14:42:25

Oh dear, I read that as Heston hmm and wondered what he had to say about Brexit.
Time to go and write some more Christmas cards. or make an appointment with Specsavers.

whitewave Sun 03-Dec-17 14:36:44

Twitter reporting that Hunt on Peston suggested that there could be NO BREXIT! If the vote doesn’t go with the government’s final negotiation

annodomini Sun 03-Dec-17 14:24:06

I had to turn the sound off when he started spouting his nonsense. Likewise when Jacob Rees-Mogg was on, later in the programme. I've heard it all before and still don't believe a word of it.

mostlyharmless Sun 03-Dec-17 13:46:21

Nigel Farage was there to review the papers, but he just wouldn't listen to anyone else or let them speak. It was all about him and his opinions.
An embarrassment I thought.

eazybee Sun 03-Dec-17 13:41:59

Nigel Farage did not talk over 'the woman', (I did not catch her name), all the time; she constantly interrupted him before he finished making his point. They are not there to question each other, they are there to review the newspapers. She was as rude as Joan Bakewell, Polly Tonybee and Anna Soubry, none of whom will allow anyone to express an opinion different from theirs.

Bridgeit Sun 03-Dec-17 13:21:03

And let's not forget the instigator of this situation, Mr Nigel Farage, self appointed saint of the 'people' ... disgraceful self serving person who doesn't care what havoc his actions have caused. Talk about' I'm alright Jack !! ' s-d the rest of you

Bridgeit Sun 03-Dec-17 13:14:48

I think there is far more at stake regarding whether or not we are better off in or out of the EU,than that which the OP has suggested. It simply isn't that simple, we have much to gain & much to loose ,there will inevitably be winners & losers. Only future history will eventually reveal how it pans out. I believe there should another vote when & only when we know exactly what the conditions are.

whitewave Sun 03-Dec-17 13:00:31

I was annoyed that he was on Marr, but now realise that I was mistaken, he was as everyone said, embarrassing and rude and in willing to support Trump got himself in a real pickle - what an idiot.

Mogg was hard pushed to explain away his meeting with Bannon, and then went on to say that he has had meeting with a. left wing supporter of Obama grin Blimey I suppose it is all relative according to where you sit on the political spectrum. But to suggest Obama is left wing you have to be pretty far right!

GracesGranMK2 Sun 03-Dec-17 12:29:16

He knows the days of his fame are now very limited Jen and needs to get his - what sounds like a very old fashioned message considering where we now are - while he still can.

It wasn't a good look though was it!

Welshwife Sun 03-Dec-17 12:29:14

He was incredibly rude on the Marr show. He would not let the women question him about his right to be getting any salary let alone pension.

durhamjen Sun 03-Dec-17 12:22:35

He also talked over the women all the time. Very rude, but expected.
