Fun as this is, it's not really moving to a discussion of the issues raised about the consequences of enacting the measures outlined in the LP manifesto.

We haven't got that far yet. I'm just trying to explore what makes you think that your opinion is better than anyone else's.

You seem reluctant to explain how you think people form their opinions. I like to have a bit of fact behind mine, fact gained from reading round the subject.

You seem to be rather insultingly assuming that all I do is read Murphy's blog. And I'm not terribly impressed by your immediate attempt to discredit him; not on the grounds of what he says but on what he did 30 years ago.

The link to Murphy's blog was for jen, it wasn't about using Murphy's opinion as my own.

But then, whataboutery and ad hominems are par for the course on Gnet as a substitute for discussion that pays attention to what experts are actually saying.

Will any poster on here ( that would actually vote for Corbyn) be upset if he were replaced by somebody else before the next GE, or, would they be happy for Labour to win, no matter who is the Leader?Just a thought, as so many seem to admire him so much, rather than rooting for the LP and never mind the Leader.This is what Momentum do, they are going all out to promote the cult of Corbyn and not the LP.

Did he ever pay the tax he avoided? No, he didn't. The blog post where he gets called out shows his hypocrisy in full. So easy to 'feel ashamed' of all the cash in your bank account and 'have an epiphany' after the event. Not so easy to pay the tax.

Oh yes that one - it was rather gloriously a turning point in his life which encouraged his campaign against tax avoidance ever since.

Something he was extremely ashamed of.

If only more people had that sort of epiphany.

I do know that the manufacturing operation Richard Murphy set up in Ireland to manufacture Trivial Pursuit was there to avoid UK taxation. Because he admits that. So he's certainly a 'proper expert' on tax and tax avoidance, Jen.
Perhaps he's used that tax avoidance money to pay the libel claim he lost because of his blog posts.

As far as I am concerned the Labour Party are playing a long game. They are not lining themselves up for the 10 o'clock news or news papers owned by the people who own them as the Cons do. I will watch and see but I am content at the present.

Given that you know neither of us, I can't see how you judge who is best informed. And even the best-informed person can come to the wrong conclusion. I'm sure GG would really rip into my logic if I posted something like that!

I am sure others have their own favourites. The right-wing are becoming a laughing stock as the world we built after the war collapses around them because of their utter incompetence and their only selfish worry is for their own and their cronies millions.

I agree Chewbacca. I think he'll be gone before the next election too. It'll be interesting to see what happens then!

I do gracesgran. Much as I disliked Blair and Brown, they weren't as ineffectual as Corbyn is. They at least had the courage of their convictions, whether it made them popular or not.

Corbyn avoids entering into anything controversial. He's a weak party leader that struggled to get anyone to back him. He's sold his soul to Momentum. He won't last until the next general election because he's too weak. Not a lot to choose between him and May.

I was more interested in your opinions, not those of bloggers. It seems that you don't have one and have to search on the internet to find one. I haven't read the Richard Murphy link as I have no interest in his opinion unless he wants to come onto GN and discuss stuff.
