Corbyns unknown peace prize was in the Mail today apparently. He joins a long list of people awarded peace prizes you've never heard of. Like the Confucius Peace Prize won by Mugabe.

I was just reading that Annie - I know he said he would be PM by Christmas as Glastonbury, so perhaps he's just confirming which Christmas he was talking about. grin
Jura I'm not surprised at all. He wouldn't stand up and pick a side wholeheartedly during the Brexit campaign, he left that up to Alan Johnson and others. Even now the LP doesn't have a Brexit strategy which I think is ridiculous as it is the defining issue of the time.

Unfortunately, whatever one may thinks about his good policies and so many things we care for, it cannot be ignored that Corbyn is a lifelong Brexiter. He was one of 19 Labour rebels who called for a referendum in 2011 when everyone else voted against. The 19 rebels nearly all went on to form Labour Leave in 2016.

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 20:42:14

Corbyn has said in an interview 'I will probably be PM next year.

durhamjen Tue 19-Dec-17 20:37:55

Annie seems to like little groups, Maizie. I don't have one, she just leaves them.

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 20:33:12

I doubt it was local supporters Primrose.

MaizieD Tue 19-Dec-17 20:26:47

What's this 'little group' of dj's that you're on about, Ab?

Primrose65 Tue 19-Dec-17 20:10:54

It's such a shame. Local groups can make a real difference - they tend to understand the problems people face and come up with great ways to provide the support they need. sad

Keep looking for groups though - don't let this bad apple put you off!

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 20:05:42

Same for me Primrose. I have now left that group.

Primrose65 Tue 19-Dec-17 20:03:35

I know what you mean Annie. I get cross when people create or circulate fake news, just generated for a sensational story. It's horrible for people who are genuinely struggling - it's as though they're not struggling enough to warrant attention and their difficulties are not worth actioning.

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 19:46:24

A new group appeared recently on our local site, women and labour. I joined , no one from this area that I knew, very few posted but the same few every day. Yesterday there was a link to sign a petition against the low pay of supply teachers, one teacher was living in her car! reminded me of the nurse who used a food bank, the police officer who used a food back, I asked which county employed her. They didn't know but would find out and get back to me, one did get back to me, the teacher wished to remain anonymous, I said I didn't want to know her name or anything about her, just which county was paying such low saleries . No reply.

mm m mmm?

wonder what the Guardian will make of this
They probably broke open the Bollinger wink

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 18:25:19

You are confused Jen, it is one of your little group who compared 1947 and Corbyn's rainbow promises in 2017.

durhamjen Tue 19-Dec-17 18:21:03

Make your mind up, Annie, first your saying it's back to the 70s, now back to the forties.
Time you thought of the future.
I wasn't alive in 1947. How much political knowledge do you have of that era?

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 18:18:00

Really Jen, I didn't know that, how lucky I am to have a ' I know everything person ' to guide me.

Wish you would tell some in your little group 2017 isn't 1947

durhamjen Tue 19-Dec-17 18:12:35

Annie, you seem to have missed one crucial point in your argument; 1983 is NOT the 70s.

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 18:08:35

Good for her but so sad another member has been driven out of the party, not to worry, there are Corbyn's babes to vote for him.

lemongrove Tue 19-Dec-17 17:55:58

And the ‘people in power’ are Momentum.

nigglynellie Tue 19-Dec-17 17:54:24

Wonder what the Guardian will make of this?!!!

lemongrove Tue 19-Dec-17 17:44:41

Blimey! ?

Primrose65 Tue 19-Dec-17 17:32:41

Kay Dickinson (Morecambe CLP) resigned via Twitter today.

Good to see that Corbyns twitter account was talking about corruption, just not the corruption in the party he leads.

“I hereby resign from being Chair of my CLP, resign from the CLP and resign from the Labour Party. Morecambe and Lunesdale have just had the most set up, one sided and biased selection that has sidelined all 3 excellent, loyal and dedicated local candidates…

“I feel this entire process has been a total set up to impose one particular candidate onto the CLP.

“One candidate felt so bullied and degraded by the harassment she felt subjected to that she withdrew from the selection…

“The Labour Party… is still a corrupt old boys club where people in power get to dictate who stands for Parliament…

“I know that I will be far from the only member to feel this way and withdraw their support from the local and/or national party. I would urge anyone doing so to state their reason in writing to the powers that be. I for one will not be party to this corruption.”

whitewave Tue 19-Dec-17 17:23:09

So the Tories were in good shape and That her was riding high from the Falklands.

Labour suffered from a split with some f its members who then went on to form the SDP which formed an alliance with the Libs.

That’s why the Tories won the 1983 election.

Anniebach Tue 19-Dec-17 17:16:46

I wasn't led to believe, I expercienced it, decimilalisation didn't trouble me, I don't recall strikes across the country over this. Yes the winter of discontent did bring Thatcher into power and kept her there b

No idea what point you are trying to make, come 1983 more turned to a Tory government because of fear of the far left, the militants , the trots.

whitewave Tue 19-Dec-17 16:31:57

Corbyns latest tweet

“ the more we Know about the scale of tax dodging and the techniques used, the more we can develop policies to prevent this scourge and benefit the many not the few”

lemongrove Tue 19-Dec-17 16:29:06

Primrose that image of a Grandad being pushed about by teenagers at a party ( GQ interview) is a bit disturbing. His minders seem to tell him his every next move.
