You see the trouble with creating a bogeyman -in this case the Communist Party- is that you endow that creation with all sorts of powers it has never had. So certainly members of the CP may not oppose Labour candidates but that's partly because they are not the sort of communists you imagine them to be. Communists are split over issues like many other groups.
