On the subject of 'deselection' , which has been spoken of on GN almost since Momentum was formed by a few posters.
I have noted a 'methodology' used by those who are Corbyn /Momentum followers and I don't mean GN posters when using that description I am talking of MP's, Momentum and commentators.

Lansman cleverly says there is no 'deselection' of Labour MP's going to take place but he uses the following statements regularly during interviews, as do many others who practically say the same things word for word.

“Any hardworking MP who has good interpersonal relations – which any politician should have – with their members ought to have no fear from any selection process, even mandatory selection, though that’s not what [the left] are proposing.
-
No Labour MP who “listens to their members” should have anything to fear from the process, he said.
-
Another report into the Momentum 'Loyalty Test ' for would-be Labour MPs

Included in the signed contract is the commitment to “revitalise the Labour party by building on the values, energy and enthusiasm of the Jeremy for Leader campaign”.
-

I have noted many MP's and Corbyn supporting commentators use 'virtually the same comments', it's like a 'mantra' to spout when asked about the possibility of 'deselections'.

It is a form of 'collective speech' they are told to use from Corbyn/ Momentum HQ that neither denies nor accepts the concept that Momentum are pushing for deselection of those MP's who do not share 'their/ it's vision of Corbyn and how the Labour Party should be run it's / their say so.

The fact is the Labour Membership has swelled since Momentum joined the Labour Party as members and many ' new and returned' Labour members have joined because of Momentum and their backing for Corbyn the man, not the Labour Party as they once turned their back on during the New Labour Era.

This in turn means the Labour Membership will obviously vote in their preferred Labour Party Candidates for MP's and Councillors and that in turn will mean possible 'deselection' or attempts to 'deselect' those who were on ' Corbyn List'

Perhaps they are incandescent with rage ?

I was reading through a thread on MN relating to the party's stance on transgender issues
"Does the Labour Party really hate women"

Feminists are up in arms. It's an interesting thread TerriBull.
In one fell swoop, by allowing men (who 'identify as being women' - ie: they have male genitalia and testosterone galore) to take roles within the party designated for women the Labour powers that be have trashed the recognition women have fought for over hundreds of years.

Men cannot relate to female issues, they haven't lived them, experienced them and never can, yet they can now apply to be women's officers in the Labour party. Men can now represent women within the Labour Party. If men can tick a box saying they identify as a woman, they can be elected take women's roles.

Hundreds of years of struggle for recognition and equality wiped out in one fell swoop.

It is disgraceful and many women have left the Labour party because of it. I find it strange that the left wingers on Gransnet haven't started a thread about it or expressed their outrage.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 13:01:13

Trisher please post the truth, Corbyn referred to the army as the unemployed , he did not say recruited from the unemployed .

Day6 Wed 24-Jan-18 12:49:12

Momentum has just installed a new head of compliance!

Scary. "You WILL comply!"

I would hope there are many, many people aware of what is going on within the Labour party.

The silence from anti-Momentum MPs is deafening. Have they been gagged? They are obviously having to toe the party line - and the party line is one Momentum has influenced/designed.

Primrose65 Wed 24-Jan-18 12:44:32

I'm a bit sad loopy - I seem to read everything. My local library has lots of magazines that are available online, so I read them. I'm a student at the moment, and the Uni provides access to all the newspapers online, so I read them too.
I don't think there are any 'Momentum Watch' websites - perhaps we should set one up! grin

loopyloo Wed 24-Jan-18 12:35:41

Yes Primrose, that says it all.
I am now getting very interested in Momentum etc thanks to these posts. This is going to be interesting to watch.
What are the best sites to watch?

TerriBull Wed 24-Jan-18 12:30:43

Digressing from the armed forces, I was reading through a thread on MN relating to the party's stance on transgender issues:
"Does the Labour Party really hate women" hmm

trisher Wed 24-Jan-18 12:15:35

Jalima1108 Anniebrought the armed forces into it by criticising Corbyn saying they were recruited from the unemployed-which is true. They are also recruited from schools in areas of high deprivation at very young ages. Some of the trauma they suffer is directly linked to this early recruitment which no other country in Europe permits It is so sad that people refuse to recognise what is right and true because they are so busy criticising an individual
Primrose65 I forgot my purse the other day when I went to lunch with some friends. I didn't realise unntil it was time to pay. Still my friends kindly paid for me. It can happen to anyone.

Primrose65 Wed 24-Jan-18 11:29:44

Just to lighten things up, apparently, Corbyn ordered 4 lattes this morning in the Portcullis House cafe, then told the barista he had no money when they were made and wandered off!
Perhaps someone needs to explain to him that you need money to do stuff - you can't just 'net off' assets and liabilities so that it costs nothing. It doesn't work in the real world. grin

Jalima1108 Wed 24-Jan-18 10:35:36

Before getting back to Corbyn et al here's an example of ^debt of flesh and soul^:

yet another:

I could go on but I think you may follow the theme of Military [Veterans] Aid Storm Victims Using Skills Honed In Armed Forces

McDonald saying an MP should be lynched was just awoke .the female running a training day for Momentum who was recorded saying 'I don't know what anti semitism is ' was just a joke. McDonald calling fellow M.P's ' f*****g losers' was just a joke. The female MP' who had to stand down from the shadow cabinet because she was having treatment for breast cancer and found a close Aide of Corbyn had entered her office with a skeleton key and cleared the poor woman's files ? That was just a mistake .

Jalima1108 Wed 24-Jan-18 10:16:44

Yes, all this talk of the armed forces and their debt of flesh and soul is taking us away from the OP.

We should get back to Corbyn, McDonnell, Momentum and could perhaps discuss their views on lynching and murdering fellow politicians and what they think about anti-semitism.

Much more pleasant.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 10:00:05

Thank you for the link Primrose.

I think as Comrade Corbyn has his mantra - for the many not the few I have thought of one for Momentum - for your greatest good and highest joy we are in control. Bit long, how about Big Brother is watching ?

jura2 Wed 24-Jan-18 09:50:14

The Forces will help fund university with a bursary for some recruits therefore they will be educated to degree level without getting into so much debt, followed by Sandhurst followed by at least 3 years commitment. The courses are varied and even include music.,

Much better to have a debt of money, than a debt of flesh and soul. OH could have gone straight into officer rank and up, and we would have been so much better off. Thank goodness he was not tempted.

But for schools- NO- the army should be kept out of schools. No army has a place in school- here, there or anywhere.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 24-Jan-18 09:45:25

I am sure there is an internet word for taking a thread so unnaturally off topic, just to maintain control. I know what I would call it.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 09:21:21

Yes loopy, I have several in my indoor garden , I don't think they are boring, I like them ?

Primrose65 Wed 24-Jan-18 09:20:39

Labour NEC starts telling local Labour councils what to do

"The NEC motion was so controversial that the party’s compliance unit at the meeting were frantically looking through the rules to check if the NEC could indeed act."

Of course, it's fine - Momentum has just installed a new head of compliance!

loopyloo Wed 24-Jan-18 09:14:22

Spider plants are supposed to be very good at collecting pollution in the air. Plant up loads, Annie.

lemongrove Wed 24-Jan-18 09:13:24

I should really get on with a pile of ironing Annie grin

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 09:04:36

I must pot on a spider plant today

GracesGranMK2 Wed 24-Jan-18 09:03:01

I haven't read all the thread but conditions for service men and women seem to have changed little over the century. They are better in some areas but the same challenges for families, for those injured in combat and for those whose service is no longer required on the back of governments wanting to make their cronies richer seem to still be there.

Anniebach Wed 24-Jan-18 08:32:05

There are plenty of comments on this thread Wilma relating to the discussion on the armed forces being called unemployed, without hope, drug addicts, murderers, and a need for better education , you may have skipped those.

No thank you I don't neeed the link and apologise, I posted link but meant thread

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 24-Jan-18 05:26:15

I need to stay off this thread.

WilmaKnickersfit Wed 24-Jan-18 05:24:43

Incidentally Forces Watch is still actively campaigning to stop the armed forces going into schools.
