Do you mean they and them ?

trisher Mon 22-Jan-18 14:09:00

Those elderly, biased, blinkered people who would condemn a movement and the young people who believe in a better society simply because they dislike one individual can't forget those (unfortunately)

Anniebach Mon 22-Jan-18 14:01:48

The university students who do not believe in freedom of speech , mustn't forget these

Anniebach Mon 22-Jan-18 13:57:13

Trisher you said Keir Hardie was middle class , pity you are unable to say you were mistaken , some can and some cannot it seems.

Jalima1108 Mon 22-Jan-18 12:52:25

There may be a better way to do things but perhaps some of us would rather there was a more moderate leader of the Labour Party so that they could get elected and do them.

I don't think anti-semitism and talk of lynching women is a better way to do things.
Sorry if some disagree.

Jalima1108 Mon 22-Jan-18 12:50:03

This 'It isn't necessary to endure hardship to know what is right.' - absolutely and totally.
Of course, but a suspicion of Corbyn, McDonnell and Momentum does not mean one does not want what is right for all. Being moderate does not mean one does not have a sense of decency - in fact probably more of a sense of decency than what is happening with some on the far left and Momentum.

I don't hate Corbyn. I dislike what is happening and I think he is another 'useful idiot', a puppet.

lemongrove Mon 22-Jan-18 12:49:01

Or a wrong way to do them.....the Cambridge graduates who
Spied for the USSR, and the Communist cause. That went well!

trisher Mon 22-Jan-18 12:46:06

Try this as well

Not really middle class either-more aristocracy but proof that socialism has never been the property of the working class and that you don't need to experience hardship to appreciate that there is a better way to do things (which was the argument presented!)

Jalima1108 Mon 22-Jan-18 12:37:31

KEIR HARDIE (1856-1915)

Born illegitimate and in poverty in 1856 and working in the coal mines from the age of ten. Yet Keir Hardie was to become the main founder of the Labour Party. An active trade unionist, he was sacked by the pit owners and became a trade union official, living in Cumnock with his wife, Lillee, where he was active in a local church.

Not what I would have thought was 'middle class'.

trisher Mon 22-Jan-18 12:23:18

Not paying or contributing towards the finances of someone who is not comfortably off is acceptable then? But many people are paid to care for a relative should they just do it because it is 'helping out" Even though they may be financially struggling?

Anniebach Mon 22-Jan-18 12:13:28

Not wise to place oneself on a pedestal is it Lemon ?

Anniebach Mon 22-Jan-18 12:11:07

Ideals? Such as charging a sibling for help and support , not an act I would be proud of.

lemongrove Mon 22-Jan-18 12:10:28

I expect you will be canonised any day now trisher ?

The hard left think they are the only ones with any ideals ,
What a blinkered outlook.

trisher Mon 22-Jan-18 12:07:15

Oh I know GGMk2 but sometimes I can't resist it They have such a blinkered and narrow vision of life. As if the Labour Party has ever been the property of the working class
As for all those people who condemn communists, without their commitment and dedication WW2 would probably have been lost. In Spain, in Greece and many other places they gave their lives for a cause. Those who describe them as well meaning or idiots should remember that.
But still what do I know? I'm just an old leftie who believes that life could be better if rich people contributed a bit more and we had a functioning education system and NHS- From the cradle to the Grave. Yes I know it's an ideal but when I stop having ideals please will someone shoot me

Primrose65 Mon 22-Jan-18 12:06:58

Apparently, West Midlands Labour has sparked a race row by charging different prices for a conference based on skin colour. What's going on in the LP? How is this not divisive?

Anniebach Mon 22-Jan-18 12:06:49

Corbyn claims it works in Venezuela Lemon ?

Anniebach Mon 22-Jan-18 12:05:34

Bringing being religous into this thread certaintly doesn't make sense.

Anniebach Mon 22-Jan-18 12:03:49

Trisher, how sad you would consider only helping a sibling and nephews if you got paid.

Primrose65 Mon 22-Jan-18 12:03:43

No, it doesn't lemon and it hasn't made sense for the countries that have adopted it either.

lemongrove Mon 22-Jan-18 11:59:18

A Marxist agenda doesn’t make sense for the UK.

lemongrove Mon 22-Jan-18 11:58:36

Strange Jura I didn’t have you down as a Corbyn supporter or a Momentum supporter, but perhaps you are.
So, what do you think of Momentum ousting people from their jobs and infiltrating every aspect of the LP?

jura2 Mon 22-Jan-18 11:54:22

This 'It isn't necessary to endure hardship to know what is right.' - absolutely and totally.

And you don't have to be religious either. Some things just make sense.

lemongrove Mon 22-Jan-18 11:47:31

‘GN let them use the threads this way’ ?

Primrose65 Mon 22-Jan-18 11:47:00

GG grin grin grin
A post attacking posters about posters attacking posters.
Don't beat yourself up!

lemongrove Mon 22-Jan-18 11:45:23
