Continuity of previous thread.

It is interesting to know that the Tories have chosen the environment as one of the focuses in order to try and tackle the young vote.

This morning I read that this failing government (shades of Trumpgrin is refusing to sign up to the EUs plan to tackle plastic waste.

A prime example f this government shooting itself in the foot on a number of levels.

Plenty for the DUP and useless unproductive jollies though.

And of course the Tories have nothing to do with Russia, do they?

Thanks for that link, Granny23.

It worries me, too.

A member of the mogglodyte team John Redwood, is earning £180000 pa on advising people as to what to do with their money. He is advising them to take it out of the U.K. before Brexit.

Granny23 Sun 11-Feb-18 20:51:05

Sadly, so do I

whitewave Sun 11-Feb-18 20:47:56

I absolutely agree with him though granny

It has come to a pretty pass when we have this

www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2018/02/scared-of-my-own-thoughts/

from a normally level headed former British Ambassador.

Wollaston goes on to say
“Personally I think they will get rid of her anyway once she has complied with her demands. Therefore the prime minister should publish the evidence that sets out the reason for alignment and close relationship with the EU in the National Interest.”

Sarah Wollaston M.P.

“The Mogglodytes plotting to oust the Pm if she doesn’t comply with their demands, need to face the reality that there is no parliamentary majority for their disastrous, disruptive hard Brexit.”

We paid for this trip, despite the fact that the main companies had said that they would send their top people over to London.

"Ford Plans for Brexit | Ford has requested a banking license from Germany's financial regulator in preparation for Brexit, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reports. The company currently manages its financing and leasing activities from a U.K. based entity, which like banks will probably lose the ability to offer services across the bloc after the divorce."

Ford on the move. That will make us a country fit for the future, will it not?

The NAO, has totally trashed the government’s funding and support of adult social care.

The government falls at every hurdle and as a result the knock on effect of the paucity of adult care is being felt in every part of society.

"Responding to recommendations set out in last year's Taylor Review into modern-day working practices, the Government has promised stricter enforcement of holiday and sick pay rights, a crackdown on firms using unpaid interns, giving all workers the right to demand a payslip, allowing flexible workers to demand more stable contracts, and levying higher fines (up to £20,000) for firms that breach contracts or mistreat staff. "

Dominic Raab is advertising for an intern to work for him for nothing.
Obviously he doesn't listen to May, either.

durhamjen Wed 07-Feb-18 23:26:27

Proof that May lied about NHS statistics.
The ONS has told her so.

I think this group is much more worrying than Momentum.
Momentum does not get money from the taxpayers, or have ministers as members.

durhamjen Wed 07-Feb-18 19:46:08

That's what I thought, Cold.
She can't still believe what she says, can she? Not even her own followers can believe that still.

whitewave Wed 07-Feb-18 19:32:59

For what it’s worth (very little to date) no 10 has issued a denial that the NHS will be up for grabs by the USA

durhamjen Wed 07-Feb-18 19:22:06

www.theweek.co.uk/91461/who-does-the-shadowy-european-research-group-represent

Rees-Mogg's followers in the ERG. That's who Soubry meant.

Cold Wed 07-Feb-18 19:04:45

Does Theresa May actually believe any of the twaddle she say parroted on her party political broadcast - creating a fairer society! Better economy!(really?). But she still loves a good meaningless slogan "Fit for the future"

I really don't know how she kept a straight face!

MaizieD Wed 07-Feb-18 17:28:18

It was John Selwyn Gummer.

jura2 Wed 07-Feb-18 17:14:55

Yes WW- hugely concerning that Mrs May refused to answere the question asked by Vince Cable on the sale of the NHS to the USA - what she did NOT say meant so much more than what she did (waffle) say.

Did anyone when voting for Brexit ever think this is what ti would end up meaning- as well as selling our environmental and animal welfare standards in exchange for deals with the USA? Tories keep saying we are vassals of the EU- when we are in fact full and very influential partners at the moment, with very special deals no-one has in the EU (no Schengen, no Euro, etc)- but they want to turn us to being minor vassals at the merci of the USA and China sad - how can that ever be 'taking back control'?

Anyone seen the articles today about the huge amounts of money Rees-Mogg would rake in via his business allies after Brexit (oh and the sickening video he posted of his poor youngest child being encouraged by him to say 'brexit'. Poor kids has got a lisp and it definitely sounded like 'Brexshit'- sad that he would use his child that way. Forgotten the name of the Tory agriculture minister who publicly fed his kid a burger during the CJD crisis.

I reported a crime a couple of years ago and was told it wasn't a police matter, but a civil matter.
No number, no crime.

Fennel Wed 07-Feb-18 16:29:17

I watched PM's questions today too, * mostlyharmless*.
As you say statistics can be tedious.
What types of crime? Which are increasing? Which are decreasing? Are people more willing to report crime? Are 'minor' crimes not reported? etc.

whitewave Wed 07-Feb-18 15:50:04

Wonder if Brexiters have stopped for a nano-second over the NHS being opened up to the USA
