When a political leader lies on their CV - can you trust them?
Farage fails to report 5 million gift!
Why doesn't Starmer hold another referendum?
Continuity of previous thread.
It is interesting to know that the Tories have chosen the environment as one of the focuses in order to try and tackle the young vote.
This morning I read that this failing government (shades of Trump
is refusing to sign up to the EUs plan to tackle plastic waste.
A prime example f this government shooting itself in the foot on a number of levels.
PMQ has become an opportunity to trade statistics. Corbyn states a figure (police numbers today) - May contradicts it and produces a different figure. Corbyn says crime has gone up under the Tories, May uses a different type of statistic to say crime has gone down. Very tedious.
We all know police numbers have been cut drastically.
Some analysis of crime and policing statistics from BBC: Reality Check: What has happened to police numbers?

Yes whitewave May managed to ignore Vince Cable's question about an American trade deal resulting in American firms investing in the privatisation of NHS.
She just started a load of waffle about making sure we had the best trade deal.
She seems to have these waffly diatribes for every occasion.
Maybot refuses ruling out letting the USA getting its sticky fingers on our NHS.
Just read the following in the other place.
Remember that facistic title in the Fail calling our independent judiciary, (and something that we can be justly proud of ) “enemies of the people”?
The journalist responsible for that headline is now working as Mays press secretary.
Who said she isn’t in Dacres pocket?
I think what we are seeing is a bid of the far right trying to cease control. They seem to be in charge of the Brexit process as Soubry has identified. I think that they are intent on changing the Tory party as well.
I saw Anna Soubry on the BBC2 politics programme a few weeks ago, and she certainly seemed to mean business . Almost persuaded me to change from Labour to Tory (God forbid.)
Are we seeing the slow painful demise of the feeble branch of the Tory party currently 'in power'?
Soubry calls on Maybot to stand up to the 35 loons who are running the Tory party. Soubry went on to say that they destroyed Major and Cameron, neither of whom were willing to stand up to them. It will destroy the Tory party if they are allowed to prevail.

Did ardent leavers really think that it would be easy , quick & straight forward.
Judging from comments on here, and on other social media, I'd say that that is absolutely what a great many Leavers thought/think.
How many lies have been told by our parliamentary representatives in the past few months?
Too many imo and an affront to our democracy.
Speaker should call them out and force them To apologise or leave the House.
It seems that anything goes in following your own political agenda
Meanwhile TM is congratulated by her scriptwriters at the Daily Mail for doing as directed.

Imo the biggest worry are those shadowy backers and from which Stable they come from. The U.K. fought a war to rid itself of such people and yet just like a cancer they is creeping back,
Ooh Er!
Tories are going to nationalise the East Coast Line.
I wait with huge confidence screaming headlines from the Fail, Sun and Torygraph over the way this government is spending tax payers money and leaving debt to our grandchildren and becoming a socialist or Marxist state
Did anyone seriously believe it would be any different than it is? Did ardent leavers really think that it would be easy , quick & straight forward. A divorce between two people becomes bogged down when the spoils are split. It’s not as if we weren’t warned.
And why on earth would negotiaters give a blow by blow account until a deal is signed ,sealed & delivered. All the second guessing is pointless. Those who voted to leave will just have to wait & see if the reality matches their vision, wishes & expectations .At the end of the day no one could say for sure how it would pan out, we took a gamble & in time history will reveal if the gamble paid off.
And they will tell her and she will tell her spokesperson and s/he will tell the reporters who will tell us.
Maybe that's why she went to China, to find out a bit more about Chinese whispers.
No dj it is the hard right who are running Maybot who will disagree
By the way, it's not May doing the negotiating, it's David Davis.
He'll tell us one thing and she will disagree.
Time for keeping cards close to your chest has way gone. They’ve blown that as they are so clueless.
She doesn't put any cards on the table unless they are torn out of her hands.
Negotiation is for both sides, not just one.
Can you say anything that has been concretely agreed, because even the Irish question and EU citizens have not been sorted completely, have they?
All she seems to do is mess around with the vocabulary. Tha's not negotiation.
Does the fact that Theresa May doesn’t give us a blow by blow account of the negotiations mean that she doesn’t know what she is doing? Surely a good negotiator doesn’t put all the cards on the table at the off ,it’s called negotiation for a reason surely.
White shirt - Mogg the thug’s minder has been photographed in a Nazi uniform.
It has been noticed that the ERG has no web site and Bannon the white supremicist has been advising Mogg the thug on his chairmanship of said shadowy organisation.
Well if he has it wasn’t posted.
I bet that diplomat hasn't got a name, whitewave - or he's close to retirement age.
"One faction of the Tory party wants a customs union with the EU to protect jobs; another fears that would turn us into a vassal state. Both are right.
The more they tear into each other, the better. The greater the chance we’ll then end up with the only really good solution: deciding to stay in the EU. That would allow us both to protect jobs and to keep our place as one of Europe’s big powers.
Three officials have told the FT that the government is secretly looking at the possibility of staying in a customs union with the EU covering goods post-Brexit. There are two main reasons. First, our manufacturing industry – which depends on complex supply lines that criss-cross Europe – wouldn’t face trade turmoil. Second, it would be easier to avoid a hard border in Ireland, something Theresa May has already agreed to in her deal with the EU before Christmas.
Philip Hammond, the chancellor, is said to favour a close customs relationship with the EU post-Brexit. The prime minister herself hasn’t ruled it out."
This was two days ago. What's changed?
Like it says, if they carry on tearing each other apart, we'll end up deciding to stay in the EU.
Can you imagine any other EU country watching from the sidelines and deciding it's a good idea to follow us?
