Williamson is still making the headlines over his relationship with a junior colleague in a company which he had later left under a cloud.

His efforts to draw a veil over this sex scandal by issuing claims about the threat from Russia is being looked at with raised eyebrows by the security people as well as other civil servants.

The government can print money to make sure the economy doesn't tank. This government does not wish to do so to help the NHS or schools or social work, and pretends to on housing.

I understand that- but at the present moment, Brexit has to be on top of agenda. Again, if the economy tanks - there will be no money for school, social work, NHS, housing or anything else.

Both political parties are in deep disagreements with their own sides as regards to Brexit.
It would be very hard for either May or Corbyn ( had he been in power) to get all their party or even all their cabinet behind them and to agree a single view.IMHO they all need to put the country first, get on with leaving the EU with the best deal for the UK and forget all the hard brexit/soft brexit stuff.

Please, Conservative GN colleagues- can you really see any of the above pulling our country out of this mess we are in? Really?

I have many relatives who are true blue Conservatives, and they are pulling their hair out. One of them said she was considering voting Lib Dem - and never ever would I have believed she could ever say that. Her OH said he would abstain, for the first time in his life, if an election was called. Again- never ever.

Getting back to the Williamson story and his admitted fling. It appears there is more to it than he is admitting, and this from the man chosen to replace another minister who was got rid of because of a sex scandal.

The line is that he let information about the Russians out to try to “hide” the scandal in which he is embroiled

I simply can’t see her surviving at the moment, senior tories are talking about the utter destruction of the Tory party.

absolutely terrifying - if anyone of those becomes leader of Conservatives- they are finished- and we go down with them. Well they are finished anyhow- and Labour is not in a position to take over- in any way, shape or form.
