Trump has apparently expressed a wished to display a Van Goch painting in the White House

The Guggenheim Museum has refused, but offered an alternative.....

I wonder if they normally allow a President to borrow a picture?

It is not uncommon for museums to loan priceless works of art to sitting presidents; the Obamas borrowed works by the likes of Mark Rothko and Jasper Johns.
