I don't have Sky ( is that a Murdoch company?) butbregularly watch the BBC who allowed Farage to appear on QT 29 times over the years when no other MEPs got any expisure to speak of, then during the EU referendum campaign insisted on giving equal time to factual information from experts on the Remain side and blatant lies from the Leavers.

Do you remember Daniel Hanan saying "absolutely no-one is talking about leaving the single market" or Boris telling us that Turkey was about to join the EU and 79 million Turks would be coming into the UK?

That is because those some opinions are not based on truth. So many people don't even understand how democracy works and that this was an advisory vote, nothing more, nothing less. It will take the writing of history to put forward the truths and then some will still believe their opinion is a truth and the law is not.

There were many different types of people who voted to leave the EU, but there is no doubt that a good proportion of these people actually believed the lies of the dishonest Leave campaign. (eg the £350 million lie on the bus).

I am sure she would have been attacked by the Sun, Express and Daily Mail, but a true leader would have had the guts to stand up to the vested interests of the billionaire proprietors of these rightwing tabloids. We need to condemn the lying propaganda which fooled too many voters. People deserved to be told the truth.

It's difficult to think of one of our current politicians who could qualify for the description "statesman".

I actually think that Theresa May had a golden opportunity to say "I wil stand up for what I believe. I do not regard the results of that advisory referendum, which was won by lies, as valid and so, as I have become Party Leader and Prime Minister, I will do what I truly beleive and ensure that the UK stays in the EU."

She would then have gone down in history as a true leader, a worthy statesperson and the PM who saved the UK from disaster.

Unfortunately she's blown it.

Until presumably the EU huff and puff and deny the country money for projects, but by then, Bulgaria or Any other country, has done what they want to.

other nations are uneasy about eu diktats and are already disregarding them in some cases
The Bulgarian parliament have thrown out the eu treaty on violence against women ( there's a surprise).
They have also refused to implement diktats concerning corruption ( another surprise) although our money has pored into the country to try and combat this 'problem'
I put the word problem in quotes because without the corruption the country would collapse.
I think the Bulgarian government have been telling porkies as they promised to combat corruption when they entered the union in 2007 only 11 years ago
