Hopefully this will be about politics and news only ,with no personal remarks or attempts to stifle.

Jon Lansman is more dangerous than Corbyn, at least at the moment.

Anniebach Mon 26-Feb-18 10:12:00

I certaintly do not like Momentum, it has brought all that is bad into the Labour Party, bullying, stifling freedom of speech, blackmailing.

Blimey ! primrose I should look closer at that halo, it seems a tad tarnished

GracesGranMK2 Mon 26-Feb-18 10:19:54

There is only one thing in life worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.

Is this why you make such contentious posts - just so you get attention! Sad indeed.

Jalima1108 Mon 26-Feb-18 10:36:53

Tongue in cheek comment, surely? Not to be taken seriously.

Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

Jalima1108 Mon 26-Feb-18 10:38:52

Mud sticks though primrose as you well know.
Yes it does, doesn't it whitewave so it is just as well not to lie about people.

whitewave Mon 26-Feb-18 10:50:00

Are you saying that I am a liar jalima or is it a general comment that should be true for all?

Primrose65 Mon 26-Feb-18 11:37:47

Corbyn has just said that he would nationalise Royal Mail but that it is a 'natural monopoly' because you only have one letterbox. (!!!)
I don't think that will go down very well with everyone who's currently working for delivery companies.

whitewave Mon 26-Feb-18 11:41:10

Don’t be silly primrose he is talking about stopping the privatisation of the Royal Mail, there is room for both.

Primrose65 Mon 26-Feb-18 11:43:11

That's not what he said ww.

Anniebach Mon 26-Feb-18 11:44:06

A planted questioner , pathetic

whitewave Mon 26-Feb-18 11:48:30

Like the Tories don’t ye! right.

Primrose65 Mon 26-Feb-18 11:50:57

He was answering a question from the Guardian about competition rules and state aid. He gave an example about RBS and then he said
"Royal Mail is a natural monopoly. Mail delivery is a natural monopoly. I do not agree with or accept the idea there has to be competition in mail delivery, after all, we all have one letterbox."
Don't call me 'silly' ww. It's patronising and ignorant.

GracesGranMK2 Mon 26-Feb-18 12:19:11

Primrose, try rising above your natural bias. What he was talking about was an LP policy. Ad hominem remarks don't get us very far do they? If you don't agree that letters are a natural monopoly - say so! Personally I would want to know the full policies but I do think there are natural monopolies. That's my opinion about these things - it may not be yours and that's fine. Talk about letterboxes is irrelevant if we have a better run country for all of us - or if we have a badly run one.

Primrose65 Mon 26-Feb-18 12:24:17

I cannot see how quoting what Corbyn actually said is a confirmation of any bias you believe I have.
It's his words, not mine, that you have an issue with. It's not my fault he says stupid things on camera and even Rebecca Long Bailey looked embarrassed.

Anniebach Mon 26-Feb-18 12:27:41

Did he realy need Rebecca Long Baily to tell him when to speak

trisher Mon 26-Feb-18 12:52:01

Oh dear it is getting. bit pathetic when all you can do is criticise the fact that a meeting was properly organised with someone identifying questioners while the speaker made notes ready to answer.
Primrose65 so do you think Royal mail is a 'natural monopol' or not? Most parcel deliveries do not cover whole streets, or deliver every weekday, so I suppose if you wouldn't mind intermittent deliveries but were prepared to wait weeks for a delivery it wouldn't be necessary.

Primrose65 Mon 26-Feb-18 13:25:59

I don't think it's a natural monopoly because we only have one letterbox! He accidentally forgot he was not talking to a class of 4-year-olds.

I get parcel deliveries 7 days a week. I'd prefer Jeremy didn't change that.

Anniebach Mon 26-Feb-18 13:31:14

So I only have one letter box? No one told me, just as well poor Lottie would be exhausted waiting for the postman seven days a week at two or more letter boxes.

trisher Mon 26-Feb-18 14:06:34

If you can't criticise the politics go for a complete irrelevance, Mrs May does shoes GNers do letter boxes. I'm sure the poor, the disabled and all the underpriveleged will really appreciate their concerns.

Why are Corbyn supporters so very thin skinned about him and Momentum? So much so that every other post is becoming personal to others. It’s curious.

lemongrove Mon 26-Feb-18 14:19:55

Corbyn can say anything, in his speech on Brexit, since he and the shadow cabinet don’t actually have to do anything.
I hate to think of how he and they would manage the negotiations......if you think the Tories are bad at it, you may get a shock ( a nasty one) if Labour was trying to cut a deal with the EU.

lemongrove Mon 26-Feb-18 14:21:41

Maybe not to posters on here, many of who didn’t want to leave anyway, but how about the two thirds of Labour constituencies who did vote to leave!

Primrose65 Mon 26-Feb-18 14:29:50

We can stick to the agenda set by the MSM if you'd prefer trisher.

whitewave Mon 26-Feb-18 14:30:07

CBI and other business leaders have welcomed Corbyns speech.
It has drawn fulsome praise from George Osborne, CBI and the institute of directors.
