durhamjen never mind my degree, I believe your was in naivete.

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 18:55:38

I think you are confusing my posts with your own whitewave
I must really have annoyed you today, with what I thought of your support for the anti-semitic artwork.Tough!

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 18:54:43

Paucity? That's a big word for you, lemon.
What was your degree in?

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 18:53:20

Actually, I don’t think it’s to annoy me or show facts ( the blogs and comments from Skawkbox are hardly ever facts)
I think it’s a paucity of thought.

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 18:51:47

I see lemons politics as over the garden fence or down the pub. Full of platitudes and non-evidential made up chat.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 18:50:16

Thanks, jura. That is why, but it annoys lemon as well.

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 18:49:25

dj uses evidence in her argument lemon you make it up as you go along.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 18:49:18

To annoy you, lemon?

jura2 Sun 25-Mar-18 18:49:13

Could it be because she bases her comments on facts - rather than total prejudice and bashing?

TBH - I can't remember you ever proposing real solutions to the issues we now face.

Primrose65 Sun 25-Mar-18 18:48:38

That's a good point about Chuka lemon. I don't know why he pulled out of the leadership, I'd forgotten about that.

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 18:48:10

lemon

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 18:47:44

Oh I thought his explanation was that after what he saw the appalling lies and innuendo the wretched MSM put Miliband through, he decided he didn’t want that for his family?

But of course the lie that he lacks courage sounds good even if not backed on any evidence whatsoever.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 18:47:40

This is what Frank Field's CLP thought of him writing in the s*n.

" Prenton Branch condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the decision of Frank Field to write for Murdoch’s S*n. This not only flies in the face of Birkenhead public opinion and a Wirral Labour Council boycott, it rides roughshod over the memory of those who died or survived the Hillsborough tragedy and were smeared by that rag. It also causes upset to friends and family of victims and survivors.

One Prenton member has cancelled his membership due to Frank’s involvement in the gutter press. The branch feels that this is a clear case of bringing our Party into disrepute.

We call on Frank, to give a clear, unambiguous, public apology, for the hurt caused and to provide an undertaking not to contribute in any way, in future."

They are nicer than me; they give the s*n a capital.

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 18:46:09

Never your own words, are they durhamjen, I do wonder why?

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 18:43:52

May's antisemitism last PMQs.

" “If you want to tackle antisemitism there is no place for you in the Labour Party.“

Theresa May just labelled every Labour member as someone who does not oppose antisemitism.

Worst of all, she labelled every Jewish member.

Of the vile antisemitic tropes used against Jewish people, that of the ‘self-hating Jew’ is among the most despicable – and May was guilty of it on Wednesday.

The media ignored it.

Labour has a large number of Jewish members. It has no fewer than three organisations for Jewish members and their supporters: the Jewish Labour Movement, Jewish Voice for Labour and Labour Friends of Israel.

May just told the whole country, via PMQs, that none of them care about antisemitism.

And the media is in a frenzy about an innocent, if slightly careless Facebook comment.

A leading Jewish member of the Labour Party told the SKWAWKBOX:

I completely condemn that statement as founded on Theresa May’s prejudice. It’s an expression of her fear of the success of the Labour Party as the local elections approach and she’s using an antisemitic statement to try to get more votes.

It’s a foul piece of racist propaganda. "

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 18:36:11

Chuka Ummuna didn’t have much courage for the leadership though Primrose so doubt he will have the courage for anything else.

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 18:33:41

What with that, and sacking Owen Smith, JC is not having a good week.

lemongrove Sun 25-Mar-18 18:32:16

So, the artist of the mural is not only anti-semitic ( why does she think a Jewish man defaced it?) but is an anti-capitalist who has only praise for one journalist.....from Russia Today!
Glad it was cleaned off.
All the praise for the artist on GN is hogwash, and going against Corbyn for once.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 18:27:10

Who would you have on the front bench, then, Annie?
I don't think you've ever said. You're good at criticising those who have increased the number of labour party members to the highest ever.

durhamjen Sun 25-Mar-18 18:24:24

This is the commons affairs committee.
Last year they decided that
"Despite significant press and public attention on the Labour Party, and a number of revelations regarding inappropriate social media content, there exists no reliable, empirical evidence to support the notion that there is a higher prevalence of antisemitic attitudes within the Labour Party than any other political party."

Anniebach Sun 25-Mar-18 18:21:36

Be great Primrose, the thought of the front bench - no Corbyn, McDonald, Abbott, Thornberry and the sheep ?

Primrose65 Sun 25-Mar-18 18:08:25

I wouldn't give up so quickly jura. Chuka Umunna might be the person to watch here wink

jura2 Sun 25-Mar-18 17:50:37

So Keir Starmer was our only hope, and I am totally gutted about this:

Keir Starmer: ‘We cannot allow Labour to break apart over Brexit’

So, that is it. sad

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 17:01:51

Dear oh dear.

How about engaging in what the artist says he is trying to portray with the community? I would have thought it was right up your economic modules street.

I go back to my post be Tom London

“It is deeply depressing that some of Corbyn political opponents make baseless smears of anti-semitism towards him in order to seek advantage.

Not only is it wrong in itself, it makes the fight against anti-semitism that much harder

Primrose65 Sun 25-Mar-18 16:53:03

Corbyn has been reported to the LP for alleged antisemitism over his defence of a mural depicting Jewish bankers controlling the world.

www.thetimes.co.uk/article/jeremy-corbyn-is-reported-to-labour-party-chiefs-over-anti-semitic-mural-6mqb8m0pv

A complaint submitted to the Labour Party’s ruling body, the national executive committee (NEC), by the Campaign Against Antisemitism, accuses Corbyn of bringing the party into disrepute. The mural by artist Mear One showed six “hook-nosed men” — apparently Jewish bankers. It was scrubbed off a wall in the East End of London in 2012 after residents complained about its anti-semitic theme.
At the time, Corbyn defended the imagery on the grounds of free speech. The Labour leader has since expressed “sincere regret” about his comments but has refused to apologise explicitly.
Gideon Falter, chairman of the Campaign Against Antisemitism, said: “The Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn is now a racist party and to be silent now is to condone. We call on all Labour MPs to act and support our disciplinary complaint against Jeremy Corbyn.” His complaint against the Labour leader was signed off by lawyers last night and sent to Jennie Formby, the party’s newly appointed general secretary and a key Corbyn ally. It will be referred to the party’s compliance unit.
Sajid Javid, the communities secretary, said he would ask for a debate in parliament on anti-semitism so that Corbyn could explain his actions.
