A continuation of Momentum/Intertia/Magnetism.

Elastic? Plastic? Or at breaking point?

A thread for Corbyn lovers & haters

lemongrove Fri 06-Apr-18 17:21:03

loopy I expect the LP canvasser is well used to complaints about Jeremy Corbyn, they must grit their teeth before knocking on doors.

lemongrove Fri 06-Apr-18 17:16:43

Grandad you may chunter on about Boris or Rees Mogg, but don’t be surprised if any posters can’t be bothered to reply, this is a LP thread, and a Corbyn one in particular, so unless you have anthing interesting to say about the OP I for one won’t be reading it.I expect you will be carrying on regardless though.

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 17:09:36

Most serious, I am unique, my parents told me, but this thread isn't about me it's about Corbyn

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 16:48:22

Anniebach, you state above "there is no connection between the leader of an oposition party and a Foreign Secratary"

Surely Anniebach you cannot be serious in that statement. They are all interlinked, government ministers, shadow ministers, prime minister and Leader of the opposition, they are all part of the body politic in the UK.

In the foregoing none can be discussed in isolation without reference to the actions of another in any ballanced and open discussion.

So again Anniebach, as John McEnroe said so famously " you cannot be serious........you cannot be serious.

The above was a joke by the way Anniebach

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 16:19:05

I have no problem with balance but deliberately deviating from the thread title isn't done for balance . And there is no connection between the leader of an oposition party and a Foreign Secratary, just as there is no connection between roast lamb and nut roast

Ilovecheese Fri 06-Apr-18 16:18:07

loopyloo were you for or against the grammar schools?

loopyloo Fri 06-Apr-18 16:15:52

Labour party canvassor came to the door today. Did not know what to say! Where to start? Where is the party for the middle ground? In the end ranted on about the 11 plus which we have in our borough and the church schools.
Didn't want to bore him about Corbyn. But perhaps I should have said what I thought. Ah well .....

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 16:11:16

My post started with - should. This was followed by a post saying take out one should above .

And grandad1943, AnnieBACH not batch, I am not a batch of anything , I am unique

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 16:05:51

Oh.... don't like Ballance and counter aurgument in discussion do we.

See you on the next Corbyn thread then or whatever it is entitled.

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 16:02:31

I have not told you how to word any of your posts Anniebach. The "take out one should" above referred to my post if you had read it correctly.

So, I have not been bossy and rude to you in any way.

Primrose65 Fri 06-Apr-18 15:58:56

It's OK Annie. We'll just roll on to yet another thread. It's like junk mail. You sort through the post, read what's relevant and put the rest into recycling. The people who fill up the Corbyn threads with junk posts are the ones who moan about 'yet another Corbyn thread'. They don't realise, they create them! grin

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 15:58:13

A nut roast would be "cookery" so if you were a vegan you could demonstrate the wonders of being a veterinarian with your that dish anniebatch and hope to bring foreward the converted LOL

Would most definitely sit well in that context, as Johnson sits well in this Corbyn thread

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 15:48:52

Please do not tell me how to word my posts grandad1943, so bossy and so rude

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 15:46:58

If there was a Boris thread no way would I post about Corbyn , for me it would be ill mannered and it would also look as if I was trying to deviate from the topic of the thread which would be Boris

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 15:45:13

Take out one " should" above.

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 15:43:33

Should I join a cookery thread on meats and post about nut roasts ?

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 15:42:52

Corbyn has Questioned the government closely since this crisis started, especially the actions and statements of Boris Johnson.

Therefore, and without doubt the actions of Boris past, present and future are inevitably related to Jeremy Corbyns in this matter, so why should it should not stay within this thread???

trisher Fri 06-Apr-18 15:26:17

lemon
On 25 March, Boris Johnson claimed scientists at the UK’s military research laboratory at Porton Down had been “absolutely categorical” in telling him there was “no doubt” the novichok nerve agent used in the Salisbury attack was manufactured in Russia.

In an interview with German broadcaster Deutsche Welle, Mr Johnson was asked: “You argue that the source of this nerve agent – novichok – is Russia. How did you manage to find it out so quickly? Does Britain possess samples of this?”

Mr Johnson replied: "When I look at the evidence, the people from Porton Down, the laboratory… they were absolutely categorical, I mean, I asked the guy myself, I said, 'are you sure?' and he said 'there's no doubt.' And so, we have very little alternative but to take the action that we have taken."

Except they didn't say that did they? So he lied.

it was just a suggestion as Grandad suggested making jokes about the Boris tweet
I'm not trying to police the thread or anything, just a thought .

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 15:11:13

I asked Grandad1943

Anniebach Fri 06-Apr-18 15:10:20

Then why not start a Boris thread ?

Jalima1108 Fri 06-Apr-18 14:59:22

We could have another Boris thread
And another Mogg thread

It would make a change from all the Games Threads!

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 14:56:48

Or was it just a down right lie that he thought because of his position everybody would be forced to cover for him.

Grandad1943 Fri 06-Apr-18 14:54:11

Then why not make a few jokes about the Boris Johnson tweet. You know the one he have to withdraw because he got so wrong, as usual

Bungling Boris at his best LOL
