Corbyn's Elasticity

I'm on facebook. I belong to quite a few groups. I rarely read everything that gets posted on them, there just isn't time. And I'm retired so would have more time than most. Is there anyone on here who can honestly say they have read all the comments on a facebook group?
So the idea that someone wouldn't read everything posted seems fine to me

It's just pathetic lemon Everyone knows this is not a smear. Corbyn has admitted what he has done, there's nothing false or slanderous about the reporting at all.

No one in the Labour Party is saying it is ALL smears. Corbyn and many politicians have agreed that a small minority are anti Semitic and that this needs to be dealt with. I wholeheartedly agree with this, and also think that the mechanisms in the party for dealing with this need to be more robust. However, there is no doubt that it is being used to attack Corbyn and his supporters. I could quite easily quote any number of racist, homophobic etc comments that have been made on Tory supporting sites on fb. Unfortunately there is an issue that some people, from all sides, feel they can make these sort of comments

The buck stops at the top ( Corbyn)....all the time since he became leader he has been weak, letting others get away with doing and saying anything and when asked about something like antisemitism says ‘Oh I don’t condone that!’ Whilst doing zilch to stop it.Now he has been left no choice at all but to actually do something.

Those comments are probably not the worst TerriBull I'm not at all surprised, given that John McDonnell has said some pretty horrible things himself and refuses to apologise. It sets the tone of the debate. When the party is lead by hate filled bullies, it's no wonder that's reflected in all areas of the party.
Chris Williamson has been defending some far right loonie on social media for the last couple of days. It's just ridiculous.

These smears do not stop the fact that, where there is any form of racism or hatred based on religion it should be dealt with and, and here I think the Labour Party has not been as good as it should be, as quickly as possible. I cannot remember the British Press sinking to quite this level in the past - certainly not what used to be known as the serious press.

Grandad as others say, on GN threads try( roughly) to talk about the topic in the OP title.There has already been a thread on Mogg and there are anti Tory threads on the go.
In any case your ‘balance’ is rather like somebody talking about a broken toe, when along comes somebody to say ‘that’s nothing, I broke my leg!’
A few posters would like nothing more than all the accusations of antisemitism around the LP to ‘go away’ but they won’t be.The new types that Labour has been attracting

Why is anything in the press or on the BBC which doesn't praise Corbyn an attack ?

I think some of the comments on the Palestine Live FB group were pretty horrible too.
The one that Jeremy Corbyn doesn't remember joining or didn't really look at although he posted on it.
And the other FB group - what's it called? History of Palestine or something similar.

Apparently someone is joining him in these groups without his knowledge - perhaps there is someone else with the same name.

Those comments are just dreadful! Who on earth are these 'people' who write these vile posts? While I can understand disagreeing emphatically with people's points of view, such awful comments are beyond belief.

I think the problem may be that some posters, possibly yourself included, only see in black and white.
Ironic statement, really, as imo it is Corbyn and his supporters who seem to be the ones who see things that way - as has been stated on this thread "'radical' change is needed".

Now, there are many voters and, I think, politicians who think that change is needed but perhaps rather more moderate rather than radical.

Primrose, why do you think people should have to change their views simply because others have been shouting the odds. I haven't seen any posts on here which has said that the recent stories and allegations of anti-Semitism are some sort of attempt to split or I would say, even crush Labour.

I think the problem may be that some posters, possibly yourself included, only see in black and white. Corbyn and the LP under his leadership must, these posters seem to say, be all good or all bad. These posters also seem to conclude that anyone, who sees machinations coming from those Labour Party members who don't agree with Corbyn, the main stream media and those who feel that to be truly against anti-Semitism people must support the deeds of the Israeli government, cannot abhor and want to deal with anti-Semitism wherever it occurs and, in this instance, in the Labour party.

How can there be a discussion on a new leader when we don't know who will be left standing, even Lammy has been threatened with deselection for attending a demo. Not forgetting the shadow chancellor felt free to call his fellow MP's f*****g losers . This is what Corbyn has done to the party.

Jalima, in regard to your above posting which I will copy down as it would make this one far to long, I certainly do not feel that everything is "tickity boo" in the Labour movement at this time.

I have stated in this thread that I believe that the anti-semitism problem will cost Labour dearly in the forthcoming local elections and that may bring about the downfall of Corbyn as Party Leader.

However, I have also encouraged a debate on his possible replacement, and in what I believe the Labour movement will be into the foreseeable future and what it may have to offer as against current policy.

That wider debate I again believe would be of far better interest rather than continuously "raking over the same anti-semitism theme which no one more than me condemns as I have seen racism at its worst in my occupation, one very severe instance I have posted on this forum.

We are just off to enjoy a good bank holiday meal at a great local hotel. So, will post again later (if I am fit to do so, LOL)
