I don't know how well this has been received by the Jewish community but it's only words at the moment. I'm more interested in his actions.

You and others on here have made what is a cultural issue one specific to the Labour party and Jeremy Corbyn Primrose, so I do believe it was used as a stick to beat others with.

During the pre referendum period I used to visit and watch another forum. The racism - from the Brexit supporters, in this case, but it happens with all sorts of people for all sorts of reasons, was so bad that the forum owner put the threads in a special place that you had to sign into with your password - so they didn't offend the other members but you could still take part if you wanted to. They stopped of course because their aim was to gain power by shocking others, beat down their ability to argue by stunning them into silence.

There is a problem of anti almost any group in the world and inappropriate and "unhelpful" language is used by many. If you did a survey in your local golf club of how many started their sentences with "I am not racist but ..." I wonder if the results would have you and other marching on parliament against golf clubs and the leaders of golf clubs?

I have no problem condemning racism and that Leave EU tweet was a disgrace.
It does highlight how racist material is shared on social media and how blatant it is.
I would absolutely expect any MP or local councillor of any party who 'likes' it or 'retweets' it to be publically questioned. I wouldn't call that questioning a smear. If that person was a Tory, I wouldn't think it was a plot against May. If they said they shared it by accident, because they didn't see it properly, or they didn't understand that this is racist, I would consider that pretty pathetic.

I think that makes my position pretty clear.

I also think language like 'using the anti-Semitic stick to beat others' is very unhelpful. We can all stand up for Jews and for Muslims - it's not an either/or decision. I was pleased that this offensive tweet was quickly condemned by the Jewish community, who said that the Muslim community were some of their best allies in the fight against anti-semitism.

I listened to it. It sounds very reasonable to me. They don't want the semi-tories who support Blair to hang on to the council. But those councillors don't seem to have any Labour agenda/
I'd like to hear what went on in the Council chamber re their strategy as well :-)

But you’re happy to ignore the evidence in the survey which proves just that!
Or are you saying that there would be even less anti-semtism and racism under a different leader?
Tony Blair? Ed Miliband? Andy Burnham? Chuka Umunna? Keir Starmer? Yvette Cooper?

I think that you're missing the point mostlyharmless

Labour voters are not necessarily members of the Labour Party and simply highlighting the shocking prevalence of antisemitism is no defence.

Back in the 70's there was widespread racism in the UK. Plenty of TV shows that were popular family viewing would make people cringe now. I remember going to Rock Against Racism concerts then. I don't remember anyone on the left or in the LP saying that racism was not a problem in the LP because people who vote Tory were 'a bit more racist'. The left lead the way in changing the culture and making racism unacceptable. It's something to be proud of.

Corbyn has been called to show leadership on this. I can see that he is struggling, as some pillars of his own support are clearly anti-semitic and some causes that he has supported are too. It's disappointing that he cannot mobilise his network to start to create a culture in the LP where any form of racism, including antisemitism, is not acceptable.

yougov conducted surveys on antisemitism across political parties in 2015 and 2017. Comparison between the two demonstrate that antisemitism has reduced under Corbyn. Not so the Tories. This is a confected attack on Corbyn to distract from the Referendum rigging scandal which they, the tories are desperately trying to flush.

I must admit their meetings sound pretty dull. I much prefer the Peoples Front of Wandsworth to all this Wandsworth Popular People's Front rubbish.

Not necessarily Annie There were probably votes happening on Wednesday evening. I imagine he was approached by her and said 'I have to vote' as an excuse not to engage and discuss the topic. Then he uses that non-engagement as the reason why he did nothing.
The same way as he runs away from reporters when he doesn't want to engage.
