Gerispringer don't go there! Just say what you have to say and stop the asides. You will get a response and we don't want that to happen again do we.
I certainly don't but I will if you keep pushing.
Books we loved when we were young
Now that time has moved on, but with a long way to go, does anyone regret the way they voted ? And would you still vote the same way if asked to vote again.
Apologies if this has already been discussed, I couldn’t see that it had.

No problem Jalima 1108, You are welcome Allygran1, no topic is more important than a bit of downtime chilling?
Thank you Bridgeit.
Would it help if I told you a little about me? There still seems some interest in me for some reason.
Person or thing
I will start with An escapologist ?
No it’s ok Allygran1,thank you, I like to work things out as I go along, & I am enjoying chilling with Jalima at the moment, Brexit what Brexit?
Not necessary allygran it doesn’t matter who you are on here.
All you are doing is joining in the subject of the thread, and if posters cannot deal with that ( and it seems that some can’t) then too bad.
Posters who support Brexit ( probably half of GN) have as much right to put their comments as the other half.
Happy chilling! You also sound very young and very balanced. Are you a baby boomer or a younger gran?
Thanks Lemongrove. I am trying to process what has gone on to be frank.
No disagreeing with what someone has said is debate not insulting. Its personal abuse that os. Eg name calling which has been seen on other threads sometimes. I dont agree with allygran and Isaid so!
That was to Geriapringer
You're right lemongrove it doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter how sound and reasonable your point of view is for some GN's if it isn't in line with what they believe.
You should have been here in the aftermath of the referendum Allygran. Brexiters were ignorant, bigoted racists who thought only of themselves and didn't care about their chidren's or GC's futures.
Personal opinions were slated because a lot of remainers wanted 'facts, facts and more facts'. In a way it's a pity you missed it. Of course the only 'facts' they were interested in were those that forecast the doom and gloom that leaving the EU would result in.
I think you'd rather have enjoyed the 'debates' providing you had an extremely thick skin.
Hi Smileless2012 and Lemongrove
You are remarkable people to keep putting your point of view, and with such intelligent composure in the face of what has been going on here this last two days. If the aftermath of the Brexit vote was worse then your right I am sorry I missed it. Mind you I might have had a stroke so maybe it was a good thing. It is only is few with bad manners so although my skin is thinning, it's still tough enough.
My issue is trying to work out what is really going on. Is it really just send in the pirranha's to eat away at peoples confidence and shut them down or is it more sinister. But I just can't justify that thought really.
I almost today thought of doing some research on activist infiltrating these sorts of sight. I have journalist friend and I though of asking the question has the political forum Gransnet been infiltrated. Though I really can't see any of the four that have been nipping at my heels being employed in that way.
My kind view is that they are harmless, determined to win at all cost people.
I am going to ignore the slings and arrows, and just respond to the topic.
I would like to see where I have dished out personal insults ( I haven’t), yet here I am described as “a pirhana”, “insulting” determined to win at all costs”, yet those putting the opposing view (just as robustly I might add) are “remarkable”, “with intelligent composure”, such conclusions are not surprising, but what is surprising that the poster making these assumptions seems to be unaware of this bias.
Allygran you have possibly misunderstood my comments of yesterday about the NHS and NIC contributions. I was not discussing 'health tourism' ( although I certainly do not believe it is as extensive as some would have us think), I was talking about people who are 'entitled' to use the services. My comparison was, that as someone who has had the good fortune to have good health and little use of the NHS, I have no problem with those who have greater need taking out more than they may have put in. This is my view of the EU, and I think that the security of having countries 'inside' the EU is worth the cost. I have been out and about all day, and apologise for delay in my reply, but I see you have managed to lecture and preach to the converted today, and your supporters are still there, applauding as ever. The comments about the gang of four ( am I one of them? I hope so) are unnecessary and unwelcome and I will put this and your other hidden snarky digs down to the heat.
Hi Smileless2012 and Lemongrove, you are remarkable people to keep putting your point of view, and with such intelligent composure in the face of what has been going on here this last two days
Why don't we have a vomit emoticon?
Allygran
This Brexit thread is more like a lovein compared to some in the past where you not only wore your tin hat permanently but a suit of armour came in handy sometimes.
Unfortunately many forgot too 'tool up' so there were many casualties
Quite geri. Some people can’t see that their own responses are not the kind and benign responses they imagine them to be.

From your post at 17.22
That is very unpleasant threatening language Allygran.
Indeed Petra, nothing like a good robust discussion, even with a tin hat on! But, we haven't previously had anyone clamouring to be patted on the head by teacher.

What is that all about Allygran? Too close to the truth? I am one who has concerns about who you are and what you are.
I am one who has concerns about who you are and what you are.
Then you should report it GillT57 but troll hunting is against GN rules.
GillT57
I assume your referring to Allygran with the reference to a teacher.
I don't feel for one second that Allygran is patting anyone on the head. Just good manners to say thank you to those of us who enjoy and appreciate her very informative posts.
Perhaps I should Chewbacca, but I don't think I am the only one who has doubts. I am all for a good debate, and don't mind when it gets heated, a bit anyway, but this post is surreal. What is troll hunting anyway? I just wonder if this sudden new poster is someone researching something or stirring the pot in some way to provide him/herself with material for an article? It just all seems odd, and those of you who have been quick to criticise the GN members and side with whoever this is may want to take care about what you disclose. But, no doubt I will get pilloried for this comment too, so hey ho eh?
Oh dear, who'd have thought that reasoned and intelligent posts could cause such havoc.
There have been some reasoned and intelligent posts on this thread, but not from any of the brexit brigade.
So allygran you are thinking of investigating Activist infiltration on Gransnet?
How interesting. I don’t remember this being raised, even in the most heated discussions over the years, before you joined this thread.
