Surely it’s not about the women not being paid enough though because they absolutely are . It’s about these men being paid far too much .

If it were up to me I would half the pay of Lineker and get rid of Mr Ego Evans all together.

Kitty no doubt we both have ' nice guys from Leicester' we should be rolling in dosh. smile

I am not coming at this from the gender pay gap issue which is sometimes hard to define .

What gets me to me is the BBC will air programmes that have lambasted employers , politicians etc. for being part of the gender pay gap , tax issues problems whilst all the time the BBC are doing the same , it is just pure hypocrisy .

Everything these days revolves around b----y hypocrisy.

As I understand it a lot of the presenters and reporters do not appear on the list as they are not actually employed by BBC but by a separate company, BBC Studios, which doesn't have to disclose their salaries.

???? Blinko

Blinko Wed 11-Jul-18 19:48:56

Where are (for instance) Sophie Raworth, Fiona Bruce, Mary Berry, Davina (oops, is she itv?) and a host of other female reporters? Most on rather less than £200k it would appear. The disparity is huge. The beeb should be held to account.

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 17:47:59

He is the top earner on the list .

MissAdventure Wed 11-Jul-18 17:46:19

Yes, I expect that's part of the reason he's worth so much, kitty. (Well connected)

kittylester Wed 11-Jul-18 17:44:56

Does it help if my mum knew his granny and bought fruit from his dad's stall? grin

Bridgeit Wed 11-Jul-18 17:44:50

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 17:44:05

MissAdventure, he gets paid to eat crisps too ?

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 17:42:51

So a ‘nice guy from Leicester ‘ deserves 1.759 million pay with our licence fee. Some are easily pleased.

I assume Jura you will have nothing to say on food banks etc

MissAdventure Wed 11-Jul-18 17:42:14

grin Annie..
He doesn't do much except eat crisps these days.
I could do that!

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 17:39:13

The report of BBC pay was released today, highest earner was Lineker, what the hell has this to do with brexit? I think some need counselling to help them through the brexit farce . And what on earth does the fact he is from Leicester have to do with his pay?

Oldwoman70 Wed 11-Jul-18 17:23:59

What has Brexit got to do with the reported earnings of BBC employees?

Blinko Wed 11-Jul-18 17:21:39

Lineker only does sport, football to be precise. How on earth is that salary justified???

jura2 Wed 11-Jul-18 17:10:40

or because he has again criticised the Brexit camp - more like

Oldwoman70 Wed 11-Jul-18 17:08:18

I think the OP "focused" on Lineker because he is reported to be the highest "earner".

jura2 Wed 11-Jul-18 17:04:28

None of them are, white, brown male or female ... I agree. Footballers of course have obscene salaries....

But why focus on Lineker, Anniebach ... I do wonder (well we all can guess hey). At least he is a very nice guy - and a true Leicester boy.

Nannylovesshopping Wed 11-Jul-18 15:33:46

I don’t think anyone is worth £1.759m per year

GrannyGravy13 Wed 11-Jul-18 13:45:23

No flipping way Annie!!!!

I was horrified to see yet again the top ten highest paid at the BBC are all white male and mostly middle aged (apart from the Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw who I believe is early 30's).

Where are the women? Where are the people of colour?

Not sure what the going rate for presenters or newsreaders is, as the other broadcasters do not reveal their salary structures. I believe that the BBC has to as it is owned by us (no doubt someone will let me know if I have got that correct, happy to be corrected as my brain is a bit marshmallowy at the moment!!)

nigglynellie Wed 11-Jul-18 13:41:48

No!!

Anniebach Wed 11-Jul-18 13:18:35

Is Gary Lineker worth 1.759 million a year ?
