Just reading the latest novel by Donna Leon set in Venice, seems any trust in the police and the Italian tax office has gone there, and we sadly are heading in the same direction

I think we're so used to government agencies making"mistakes" that we barely register it now.Its just another in a long line of things that they've done and got away with ,why do we even think its a "mistake". Maybe this is what they want, people packing their bags and leaving ,saves them having to find ways to throw them out .

I heard about that on the news. There was a Polish family, settled in the UK working etc with children born in UK. Because of an error by the Passport Office initially the child has now lost his British citizenship. This beggars belief when criminals are allowed to stay and even given legal aid at times.
Another instance of law abiding people being easy targets.

The Home Office admits administrative errors when they processed passport applications for EU children born in the UK. How confident can we be that when the time comes for over 3 million EU-nationals the process to grant them 'settled status' will be smooth and swift?
