Harrumph!
I know appearance is not everything, but could Jeremy Corbyn not have found a more appropriate coat and tie?
Looks like a bit of a passive aggressive statement to me.

he's too intellectual
that would be extremely difficult to portray

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 20:35:47

I agree with your post on Mrs May Day6, I really admire her.

PECS Tue 13-Nov-18 21:16:44

Sorry M0nica to ask so long after you posted...but did you call me a liar? I did not really understand what youvwere wittering on about.
I got thath you dislike JC and that an anorak is now a symbol of anti -establishment. There will be a lot of Tory ladies buying new jackets this week & putting their anoraks in the charity bag! ???

Chewbacca Tue 13-Nov-18 21:22:41

Urban dictionary definition of anorak a studious or obsessive person with unfashionable and largely solitary interests. "with his thick specs, shabby shoes, and grey suit, he looks a bit of an anorak"

Makes you wonder who had they had in mind hmm

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 21:39:39

Doubt it PECS, most people know what is or isn’t appropriate attire

jura2 Tue 13-Nov-18 21:47:29

At a time when the UK is facing its biggest crisis in a very long time- most people know what is important or not sad FGS

Chewbacca Tue 13-Nov-18 21:53:20

You're so right jura, and Corbyn's wardrobe has been at crisis point for a very long time. grin

lemongrove Tue 13-Nov-18 22:17:39

grin Yes, Corbyn’s old mac is possibly the most talked about item on social media. It may start it’s own blog soon.

Jalima1108 Tue 13-Nov-18 23:20:37

I have an anorak in the back of the wardrobe somewhere and was thinking of digging it out and wearing it.

After reading this thread it's definitely going in the bag for the charity shop. A pity, I like it grin
but I am quite hopeless with clothes as well.

We can't actually do anything about Brexit, jura, except chunter.

So it doesn't really matter if we chunter about The Curious Case of Jeremy's Mac for a while instead, a bit of light relief in fact.

Hurray to Michael Rosen!

jura2 Wed 14-Nov-18 12:01:57

Oh, YES WE CAN

Iam64 Wed 14-Nov-18 12:51:57

I've finished with Jeremy's coat but can't help asking what on earth Brexit has to do with this specific thread. I'm interested in discussing JC's views on Brexit but see it as more than a red herring here. Maybe I'm wrong....

MawBroon Wed 14-Nov-18 12:55:52

Iam64 you seem not to realise that everything can be linked to Brexit or not as the case may be! Should you so choose.

Iam64 Wed 14-Nov-18 13:14:44

Ah, of course MawBroon, I need to get out more I suspect.

Jalima1108 Wed 14-Nov-18 13:16:42

Hurray to Michael Rosen!
Yes, but as I pointed out earlier, he might well not be here unless our fathers and grandfathers had answered to call to fight evil and bring us peace and freedom.

Jalima1108 Wed 14-Nov-18 13:16:59

and mothers and grandmothers

And it is why so important to listen, talk and hear other people's views , ideas & opinions and not to get too entrenched as that way conflict lies.

We do not want to repeat the 1930s build up to war now we know how it began: rife nationalism of leadership, promotion of hatred of minority groups, disappearance of opposition and silencing of journalists. The moderate majority of citizens believing nothing would really come of it all. Until of course it was all happening around them and it was too late to oppose it other than through war.
