Language Timothy!

I think the jury is still out on Michael Foot’s —donkey jacket—

You would know all about predictable Maw

Anniebach Mon 12-Nov-18 11:40:18

Young voters will see him as a rebel , he wants their votes

maryeliza54 Mon 12-Nov-18 11:39:59

And FYI not that you care about facts - it wasn’t a bloody donkey jacket- grow up.

MawBroon Mon 12-Nov-18 11:39:42

Pathetic

And I won my bet with myself that some people would react just like this!
#predictable

maryeliza54 Mon 12-Nov-18 11:38:06

Well I won my bet with myself re this really important issue being aired. Pathetic

gravitas
Yes, that's what he lacks.

Jalima1108 Mon 12-Nov-18 11:33:52

He looked a complete mess....and that red tie
again hmm - I wore a red scarf …..

I don't think Jeremy can do smart, even when he is attending a ceremonial occasion (trousers too long etc).

Whether it is deliberate or whether it is because he is hopeless with his dress I don't know.

Neither good for a Leader of the Opposition though.

gillybob Mon 12-Nov-18 11:33:34

Well he can't be the leader of her maj's opposition and the "man in the street" he needs to choose.

(slang) definition of "anorak" someone with an obsessive interest in niche subjects, often not understood by the general public hmm

MawBroon Mon 12-Nov-18 11:32:56

And the tiny poppy and red tie? I ant help feeling it was all a statement and I am sure I am not alone.
He lets himself down though doesn’t he? Labour leaders and Prime Ministers in the past have shown much more gravitas.
There’s appropriate and there’s not.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Nov-18 11:30:16

And he wore the smallest poppy in the northern hemisphere! I thought he was disrespectful to look so scruffy and it seemed passive-aggressive behaviour to me.

Anniebach Mon 12-Nov-18 11:28:58

It is not a coat it’s an anorak, worth more votes though ‘ I am just the man in the street ‘ .

Jalima1108 Mon 12-Nov-18 11:26:37

hmm I'm not sure - and I am no Corbyn fan.

It did look more like a mackintosh than an anorak to me. However, wearing the mac without a hood would have looked much better and the usual colour to wear is black. I was searching for a smart black mackintosh for DH to no avail, as last year his smart black overcoat got drenched.

Corbyn did bow and look respectful when he laid the wreath, so he is trying.

(very trying, as DH would say)

I'm still pondering

gillybob Mon 12-Nov-18 11:21:11

He looked a complete mess....and that red tie????

Auntieflo Mon 12-Nov-18 11:16:47

MawBroon, sorry, I don’t get it. Why is he being disrespectful, for wearing a coat, with a hood?

Bridgeit Mon 12-Nov-18 11:16:37

I know clothes aren’t that important, but I thought it was disrespectful, if he couldn’t be bothered he should have stayed away.

glammanana Mon 12-Nov-18 11:14:12

Totally agree with you .

Harrumph!
I know appearance is not everything, but could Jeremy Corbyn not have found a more appropriate coat and tie?
Looks like a bit of a passive aggressive statement to me.
