Cabinet chaos?

First Dominic Raab, the Brexit Secretary and now Esther McVey from Work and Pensions.
Can you see a way out of the chaos we're witnessing?TM to address the HoC at 10.30.

Eloethan, I do think the ‘f’ word is coarse , you have the right to use it, I have the right to say it is coarse .

And i accept many use it now in their daily life , some do not.

lemongrove Fri 16-Nov-18 07:56:16

Eloethan the overall Labour Party isn’t Marxist but as you well know, Corbyn and McDonnell are.Since they would be leading it and forming policies......

lemongrove Fri 16-Nov-18 07:54:27

I really don’t think so Day6 ( although a week in politics is a long time as they say.)
Corbyn had his chance last year and the voters didn’t go for it.
Will Parliament go for this deal? I thought not from what has been said on tv but, ......hmmm, maybe they will.
I alao thought T May would resign last night....but she didn’t.
Yes, we live in interesting times!

Eloethan Fri 16-Nov-18 07:53:41

Conservative Party policy in action - don't address the issues raised regarding the government's woeful performance in every area of governance but make the usual claims of Marxism, etc, etc, etc.

Marxist government

Marxist party.

We will be able to say we have a Marxist government in the near future I imagine.

Day6 Fri 16-Nov-18 01:54:25

What a shower of sh*t this cabinet and Tory part is. They sit there facing Theresa May for five and a half hours, then come out jointly accepting the proposed deal, and then in true Tory tradition stab her in the back.

Yes Grandad, it is like a repeat of the Labour Leadership fiasco all over again, isn't it?

Comrade Corbyn's Labour party is divided too, just in case you have forgotten - Marxists versus Blairites. All is not well there. He is glad of the Brexit confusion to take the heat off him and Momentum, I imagine.

Mind you, TM might as well hand him and his comrades the keys to number 10 now. She must be in his employ with her Leave Means remain deal. Corbyn hasn't had to do anything to push her off the top spot...She has kept us tied to the EU and allowed a Marxist government to exploit a situation she has mishandled.

We live in interesting times. hmm

Anniebach, it's quite likely that Jeremy Corbyn has a disability problem in regard to his memory and like many that is why he writes much of what he wishes to state down to text.

Do you condemn him and the millions of others who suffer similar memory disabilities Anniebach. Surely it is how people with disabilities perform their duties not the disabilities that they have that should be judged.

That is a truly astonishing claim Grandad!

a disability problem in regard to his memory
I am not quite sure what you mean by that actually - are you saying that he is suffering impaired memory due to age or that he has always had an inability to remember facts?

A potential PM with a disability is no problem at all (David Blunkett eg was a very able politician) but having a PM with an intellectual disability such as the inability to remember key facts would be disastrous.

oldbatty Thu 15-Nov-18 23:21:39

Steady on there old girl

mcem Thu 15-Nov-18 22:57:24

Careful eloethan - you'll be told that wasn't nice !

Eloethan Thu 15-Nov-18 22:41:18

Implying that someone is "coarse", is, in my opinion, far nastier and more offensive than someone saying, in exasperation, "shut the fuck up".

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 21:59:05

‘ Can you never resist the urge to have a go at people you don’t care for’.........your own words Maizie ( aimed at me) upthread.....now I can say the same words right back atcha.
Btw on GN we cannot tell others to shut up, if reported it will be removed. It goes against the spirit of Gransnet.
In any case, telling others to stfu is announcing that only your own view is important and that you have are having a childish tantrum.
That’s what I call comtemptible.
Now, stop your ‘escalating’ and get back to politics, or have you nothing to say.

MaizieD Thu 15-Nov-18 21:46:15

You really are the ultimate agent provocateur, lemon, aren't you. This thread was progressing perfectly reasonably until you saw fit, at 12.00, to make a completely unnecessary, off-topic, personal attack on maryeliza. Then escalate it by complaining about her language when she, quite rightly, told you to shut up.

Contemptible....

Brexit: Theresa May braced for more cabinet resignations after day of chaos leaves deal facing Commons defeat

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 19:34:30

Complaining about bad language isn’t a diversionary tactic
mcem.......it’s simply complaining about bad language.
You started the thread.... unless you have nothing else to say about Cabinet chaos ( which surprises me.)

Anniebach Thu 15-Nov-18 19:31:31

If the choice is being a snowflake or a coarse woman, than snowflake every time please ?

mcem Thu 15-Nov-18 19:26:34

I do believe you were the one who used diversionary tactics - complaining about use of language which wasn't nice!
Besides, it isn't my thread. I wouldn't be so presumptuous!

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 19:16:30

Would you like to get your thread back on track now....I have tried, twice.
Surprises all round this evening, as everybody thought T May would either be resigning or possibly calling for an election, the journalists looked deflated!

mcem Thu 15-Nov-18 19:10:02

How very kind of you ME.
I'm sure the snowflakes think it's awfully nice!
Vulgarity and offensiveness take many forms.
Sometimes it's how something is said and sometimes it's what is being said.
Language has to achieve its desired effect and although I don't advocate swearing, here or in RL, I believe there are times when, regretfully, it can be effective enough to make a point.

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 19:06:55

Did I hit a nerve MaryE perhaps.
?
Annie grin

maryeliza54 Thu 15-Nov-18 18:54:12

Using an acronym to swear at a poster who’s launched a personal attack is perfectly acceptable - here’s some pearls to clutch snowflake. You’re welcome

Fennel Thu 15-Nov-18 18:49:40

Same thing Annie? grin.

Anniebach Thu 15-Nov-18 18:31:09

Ooooh when a relative told me he was working at the FO I thought he meant the foreign office , silly me ?

Anniebach Thu 15-Nov-18 18:28:35

Charming ? ?. for me vulgar and showing off

lemongrove Thu 15-Nov-18 18:23:43

Yes Annie...It’s Shut The F... Up, charming eh?

Anniebach Thu 15-Nov-18 18:21:47

I didn’t know what stfu stood for but as Maizie was supporting maryeliza who often uses the f word I assume the f word is part of stfu .
