could you write the rest of the story please.

Anniebach Sat 17-Nov-18 14:58:10

Perhaps this ?

‘Zionists have no sense of English irony despite having lived here all their lives ‘

merlotgran Sat 17-Nov-18 15:02:15

Clearly not the same as the Swiss one.

According to my Swiss SiL, Maw, they don't have one.

She always says, 'I leave the jokes to your brother' grin

jura2 Sat 17-Nov-18 15:06:24

Aah thanks trisher - lol

Maw, you tell me - I have no idea what you meant. But yours was the first post, the very first on here - with a ?!? face and this '
What was it Jeremy Corbyn said about the British sense of humour?'

which was a very passive-aggressive response indeed. So how am I supposed to know- why you responded as you did, why YOU were passive-agreessive (not sure about the passive bit, actually) ... don't ask me ?!?

trisher Sat 17-Nov-18 15:08:16

Perhaps those who want to discuss the British sense of humour and Corbyn should start their own thread.

maryeliza54 Sat 17-Nov-18 15:13:38

Oh trisher meanie- you know very well that all threads are potentially JC bashing threads and you just want to spoil their fun. I still wondering what the three of them met up to discuss though - certainly nothing for the benefit of the nation. Still in the spirit of anythinggoes on any thread, I do notice how quiet the GN JRM fan club has been of late.

MawBroon Sat 17-Nov-18 15:17:24

Jura lets get this straight
1)
It was a question not a response
2)
You accused me of subverting your “humorous” thread by asking that question
So
Why? To what do you take exception?

merlot I fear you may well have a point.
The thread may have been meant to be funny, but it isn’t.

SOH = Sense of humour.

The discussion about the charities was drawn out. Farage would not support any charity supporting anyone foreign. Charity begins at home, he said. Then Bojo's Dad, foolishly pointed out that he was descended from some senior people in Turkey, not to mention German royalty (as discovered in Who do You Think You Are)

At that point thinks began to get a bit tense, so Bojo reminded Farage that his name was French and that he was descended from Huguenot immigrants. They all sniggered

now someone else pick it up

trisher Sat 17-Nov-18 15:44:03

And Bojo whispered to his dad "Just don't mention the German wife".
Bojo's dad thought it was more important who would be the Guest of Honour at the Charity Ball. "Theresa's out" he said.
"Oh let's hope so", said Bojo

Discussing their forthcoming pantomime :
"Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves."

M0nica Sat 17-Nov-18 16:10:38

.... they all wanted to be the 40 thieves

lemongrove Sat 17-Nov-18 16:11:19

Since I don’t like Boris, ( Stanley seems ok-ish) or Farage, I can’t think of anything funny they may say to each other in a pub.

lemongrove Sat 17-Nov-18 16:12:46

Do they even go to pubs?

petra Sat 17-Nov-18 16:16:14

Btw. They weren't in a pub. They were in the Boisdale restaurant in Belgravia.

Nonnie Sat 17-Nov-18 16:17:50

Lemon Farage certainly does, think of all those times he has been interviewed with a pint in his hand.

Hey ho, everything intended as humour goes down badly with some and when they are made to look like killjoys they resort to name calling. Childish, hmm?

trisher Sat 17-Nov-18 16:19:04

But Farage thought they should drop the "Ali Baba". "We've got perfectly good Bitish thieves called John or George"
"Did he call Jono a thief" asked BJ's dad

MawBroon Sat 17-Nov-18 16:23:38

While we’re still waiting for the laughs hmm

Nonnie Sat 17-Nov-18 16:24:55

Maw grin

MawBroon Sat 17-Nov-18 16:25:33

British SOH

lemongrove Sat 17-Nov-18 16:27:04

Nonnie confused who has resorted to name calling?

petra Sat 17-Nov-18 16:27:11

No more. PMSL.

lemongrove Sat 17-Nov-18 16:29:52

Maw grin though I would love to know what they are really saying, and is Merkel laughing, crying or covering her eyes from the sun?

EllanVannin Sat 17-Nov-18 16:35:48

Wind, lemongrove. Macron's turned his head away pretending he didn't hear anything. That,or he's in the direction of the wind.

PamelaJ1 Sat 17-Nov-18 16:36:34

I really wasn’t going to join in.
Then I could just imagine them setting off down the yellow brick road.
Now which one is the scarecrow?
The tin man?
The cowardly lion?
Thank goodness Dorothy will be along in a minute to sort them out. ??
If only we could click our heels and it would all be sorted.

lemongrove Sat 17-Nov-18 16:38:02

grin well, possibly, well thought of Ellan

Nonnie Sat 17-Nov-18 16:48:55

Not you lemon, someone who was having a go on another thread.
