While 'the West' is fully occupied arguing over brexit and agreeing over the awfulness of Trump, Putin starts to expand his horizons with his usual complete disregard of the rights of the country he has his eye on.
Ukraine has asked UN to send ships to the Sea of Azov to support them. Another war brewing? Oh God. Just what the world needs. sadangry

Yep, its a worry. He’s sneaking in while the Europe is looking the other way and while Trump is still president.

Over the years my son has spent a bit of time in the Ukraine . He is very upset . The people have very little, they don’t need this.

Very sneaky and typical of Putin. The Ukrainians need support.

The west sat back when he simply walked into Crimea and took it. This is the result.

We've been once. It's a poor run down sort of place. Still quite a Russian influence perceptible somehow. The Russians must think its theirs for the taking. As if Russia isn't big enough already!

Putin's playing a blinder, isn't he?

Influenced the Brexit vote to pursue his aim of weakening the EU, influenced the US presidency vote to get an ignorant populist onside and now moving in on the weaker fringes of the EU.

Is NATO going to come to the rescue of Ukraine? I doubt it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that there's a Russian finger in the European populist movements.

Terrifying

Oh Maizie what a thought. Yes I bet he's thoroughly enjoying stirring the right wingers up. I don't know what's more dangerous America with an idiot as president or a Russia with a psychopath in charge. The latter I'm beginning to feel.
