I predict.....

Theresa May will lose the vote on Tuesday.

Do you agree?

And then what will happen next........let’s see whose prediction is the closest. Perhaps let this thread run about 2 weeks and see who got it right, or nearly right.

Declare a winner just before Christmas.

Over to you ?

Jeannie59 Sat 08-Dec-18 21:01:11

The word,' Referendum' gets on my nerves.

charjoy Sat 08-Dec-18 19:59:17

I think TM could pull another rabbit out of the hat.
She has more guts than most of the men!
Who else is there capable of being prime minister??

Kim19 Sat 08-Dec-18 19:50:04

Programme called 'This week' on most Thursdays straight after Question time. This comment was made pretty much at the beginning and you will find it on iplayer.

Agree re Cameron but if T Blair had done the same as all other EU leaders and not allowed an immediate mass immigration of so many other Europeans into the UK years ago then a lot of people might not have voted to leave in the first place. As for what might happen in the future it's anybody's guess but lets face it who would want TM's job? Not Boris, not JC. How does that woman keep going???

Maggiemaybe Sat 08-Dec-18 19:02:21

A tin hat? A multipack of baked beans for our Brexit food hoard?

Jalima1108 Sat 08-Dec-18 18:57:21

Is there a prize?

Urmstongran Sat 08-Dec-18 18:55:49

Well Anja good luck picking a winner from our myriad forecasts!

MaizieD Sat 08-Dec-18 18:41:44

I'd be interested to know who were they, Kim?

Kim19 Sat 08-Dec-18 18:31:12

I watched a programme last night with people whose political knowledge I respect hugely. Their thought was that the EU was acting like a bully and not unlike a kind of Mafia.

mokryna Sat 08-Dec-18 18:09:20

How long is a lifetime.
No-on was aware of the lies that were told, money overspent, other countries exerting their influence etc.
How many 18 year olds couldn't vote last time but are now looking for places/ jobs moreover if 16 year olds were allowed to vote for their future why not. Granted there has to be a stop off point but I started work at 15 had a mortgage at 18 but wasn't allowed to vote until 21.

quEEEniE Sat 08-Dec-18 17:45:17

The Scots were denied a 2nd Referendum "once in a lifetime " was said. So no referendum but how about the MP do what they are paid to do and govern.

I have only ever voted Labour but JC scares me so an election is out for me.

We can get through this.

EllanVannin Sat 08-Dec-18 17:32:53

Whichever way it goes and whatever happens it'll be interesting to say the least. Who'd have thought that 2+ years on that we'd be left with all this crap ? I'd imagined it would have been a straightforward remain with just a few stragglers voting to leave. I could never have predicted the way it went.

Anything can happen now, that's the safest bet.

winterwhite Sat 08-Dec-18 17:32:16

Anja Do you think you should call Time on this tomorrow evening (Sun) - some predictions already look more likely than others? And then start a second thread on Wednesday morning, depending on where we are then.

Gaggi3 Sat 08-Dec-18 17:19:30

Not at all a TM fan but "Always keep a hold of nurse, for fear of finding something worse."

Selsey99 Sat 08-Dec-18 16:56:57

I agree no labour in for goodness sake

Momilsom Sat 08-Dec-18 16:55:13

Think we’ll leave but the vote may be delayed. Theresa May? Nobody wants her job do they!

notanan2 Sat 08-Dec-18 16:53:19

I am not a socialist. I am a centrist. have voted labour in the past when they have been more centre left. I oppose extremes at either end of the spectrum.

Right now cons are not as far to the right as labour are far to the left.

Shazmo24 Sat 08-Dec-18 16:37:16

Total mess...all because TM is totally convinced her way is the right way.
If she just listened and had gone with a hard Brexit and had gone into the negotiations with a plan this wouldn't have happened.
I feel that if we end up staying the poll tax riots will seem like a gentle walk in the park. It will be terrible

blueskies Sat 08-Dec-18 16:25:26

Notanan2 wondering why you find Labour “scary”. They are our only hope to get us out of this mess. Corbyn is playing a blinder. He is the one who is strong and stable. He has been communicating with eu socialist friends, trade unionists, business leaders etc all this time while May has behaved like an aggressive headless chicken. Often when people say they are ex labour they’ve never been socialists. Socialism is only scary if you don’t understand it. What’s not to like unless you are a greedy cold hearted tax dodger. That’s not saying you are notanan2

lemongrove Sat 08-Dec-18 16:19:17

‘Maybe Boris will become PM’ ?that would raise more than my eyebrows Nanny it would send my blood pressure soaring. Don’t even joke about it.tchgrin

NannyC2 Sat 08-Dec-18 16:14:40

If drilled down into the legalities of the 'deal' you will find we will be worse off than we are now!
Maybe Boris will become PM.........now that will raise your eye- brows!
PS I voted out and would do so again........this country once stood up bravely for that which it believed in but now many seem to shy away in fear. As a result of what is happening in today's world, indeed the day will come when many will genuinely need to fear!
I fear not.....my trust lies in God....our true Saviour.

Jane10 Sat 08-Dec-18 15:57:53

I heard the Norway deal discussed. I gather that, given their comparatively small economy the EU were OK with it. However, our economy is much larger so we'd never be offered a similar deal. If there was a better deal actually available do you not think it would have been offered?

lemongrove Sat 08-Dec-18 15:43:32

The Norway deal is a rubbish one and perhaps Rudd is only plugging this to dismay MP’s into voting for May’s deal?
Staying in the EU would be preferable to the Norway one ( and that’s saying something!)
I predict MP’s doing something unpredictable.tchgrin

notanan2 Sat 08-Dec-18 15:36:03

123 the reasons I am anti Corbyn are the same reasons I voted REMAIN.

fluttERBY123 Sat 08-Dec-18 15:28:39
