MawBroon Medical reports at the time of Diana's death said she would have sustained lesser injuries if she'd been wearing a seat belt. The only person who was wearing a seat belt and was in the front passenger seat, which is a dangerous place to be sitting, survived.
guilia Here in Italy, at over 70 my licence is renewed for two years at a time, subject to a medical and eye test. Here we have to apply for renewal of our licence every three years after 70 - but it seems to be just a formality. However, if a doctor/optometrist decides that a patient is not fit to continue to drive for any reason and the patient cannot or will not inform the DVLA then the healthcare professional will do so.
No, the injuries sustained in the accident. Injuries which would not have been as severe, or might even not have happened if she had been wearing a set belt
Well he’s been delivered his replacement Land Rover so he obviously intends driving silly old bugger Makes me mad let’s hope it’s just himself he hurts next time
Neither the Queen nor Philip should be driving on public roads. It's not as if they even need to! The Queen can hardly see over the steering wheel and she breaks the law by not wearing her seat belt, despite lack of seat belt causing the death of Princess Diana. I hope there will be an outcry if Philip is not treated the same as anyone else after this accident. I am glad he was breathalysed at the scene because at least that was standard procedure.
There was a photo online of it being delivered yesterday, and although I am not a Republican, I think it's a disgrace on every level. If I were one of the injured women or a member of their family, I would be livid and justifiably so.
“The news on the radio heard just now of a replacement car being delivered to Sandringham ( apparently from Balmoral) is just about the biggest ‘fuck you’ statement the RF could make at the moment isn’t it?”
Posted by me on the other thread in case you missed it.
Was the Duke just fed up and wanted to get out? Perhaps he had "cabin fever" What on earth do they do all day at Sandringham? They are hardly going to sort out a cupboard or tackle the ironing. What would happen if Teresa May decides she has had enough.Does she have to take herself off to Sandringham to tell the Queen?
He couldn't see, he shouldn't have moved, so the accident is his fault. He shouldn't be driving, anyone else would be prosecuted and rightly so. It's just a miracle those passengers he hit are ok. it is just so selfish and arrogant to think what you want matters more than the rest of the people on the road, how long has he been driving when not up to it?
The sky in East Anglia is vast. You may get dappled shade in some parts from trees but when the sun is low in the sky he will have known that if it's out, you're going to get it in your face in one direction or another. This won't be the first time he has driven that route.
He was stationary. That's nowhere near as difficult as turning a corner in fast moving traffic and having to grab the visor because you've suddenly got a face full of sun.
OK let's not be hasty even though PP was joining from a side road. Sun in your eyes can't be mitigating, I regularly drive down a road going west with that issue in winter, so am very aware and drive accordingly.
