A small number of back benchers will announce they are leaving the party this morning.

Chuka Umunna is one who may be among them.

trisher Tue 19-Feb-19 20:18:54

That from someone who consistently refuses to look at other sources of information!

POGS Tue 19-Feb-19 20:16:56

Here we go anybody who does not believe in Jeremy Corbyn get's their information from the right wing press.

Lazy debating!

PECS Tue 19-Feb-19 20:14:00

Why am I a hypocrite? ? I mimiced your ott style to make a point.
Perhaps you found it too near reality for you?
You can attempt to deride those of us who desire a more economically equitable , educationally fair, caring & multi- cultural British society as much as you like. I will not be cowed by middle England Tory supporters or Farage fans.

Fennel Tue 19-Feb-19 20:13:22

"Corbyn is not and never has been a racist."
I agree.
Where have you been Rowantree?

POGS Tue 19-Feb-19 20:11:48

PECS

POGS the style pf my riposte to lemon was to illustrate the inanity of her post. Glad you spotted it! ???

Nope I didn't spot anything of the kind in your ' reposte to lemon '.

I did spit somebody trying to be clever but looking a tad hypocritical, as I said.

Rowantree Tue 19-Feb-19 20:09:19

Corbyn is not and never has been a racist.

Rowantree Tue 19-Feb-19 20:07:45

Trisher yes you put it far more eloquently than I did! They aren't even logical within their own frameworks.

It feels like a pack mentality and it's very depressing that some of them claimed to be Labour supporters. The right wing press has a lot to answer for.

Grannypauline I hope you're right. And I really like Bernie. Lovely to see him having another go!

Anniebach Tue 19-Feb-19 20:07:24

Left wing values ? When did racism become a left wing value?

When Corbyn became leader in my opinion .

trisher Tue 19-Feb-19 19:56:29

The illogical and self conflicting arguments posted by those who pretend to be against this Tory government and to be in some way centrist (but actually are slightly to the left of Margaret Thatcher) are so incredibly silly.
Classic examples
Corbyn is incompetent and couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery/but at the same time he is a dangerous individual with some sort of plan to introduce communism through the back door!!! grin
or
The Labour party is now only composed of middle class intellectuals/but has a high number of supporters in the NE and working class areas grin
One of the big problems is that so many are prepared to take the word of a right wing press and even echo it. They seem unable to think for themselves.

varian Tue 19-Feb-19 19:53:32

Bernie Sanders might have beaten Trump in 2016 but now??? (see too old thread)

grannypauline Tue 19-Feb-19 19:48:59

Well posted Rowantree, and I don't think Labour will lose the next election if they campaign on a Socialist programme.

Just heard Bernie Sanders is going for the nomination in the US and the same applies there. Bad move to select Hilary (megabucks) Clinton last time which lost the vote and let in Trump.

Rowantree Tue 19-Feb-19 19:45:27

Jalima that won't do.

Most if not all those who have quit increased their majorities under JC's leadership. That's how hopeless he is.

grannypauline Tue 19-Feb-19 19:44:22

Oh dear! Come on Jalima be specific.

Rowantree Tue 19-Feb-19 19:43:29

Either he's incompetent or he's a dangerous Red. Which is it then?

Rowantree Tue 19-Feb-19 19:42:01

The venom towards JC on this thread is sickening. Are you so afraid of left wing values, those of you who are or were Labour members for whatever reason?

What happened to pulling together towards common goals?
We should be fighting the Tories who are incompetent, dangerous and in disarray, not each other, comrades.

No, Labour certainly won't win an election now.

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Feb-19 19:41:09

in every way.

grannypauline Tue 19-Feb-19 19:39:57

In what way?

Jalima1108 Tue 19-Feb-19 19:38:53

You have to admit that he's hopeless though.

Rowantree Tue 19-Feb-19 19:37:47

JC is undermined from the word go, and the JC haters and press do their utmost to drag a man of ingetrity (YES, integrity) who is true to Labour policies and core philosophies through the mud by scraping the bottom of every barrel (my turn for a few cliches now, though they aren't of the Reds Under the Beds type) and then when you've pulled every trick you can, you blame him and his supporters for destroying the Labour vote! Words fail me.

grannypauline Tue 19-Feb-19 19:35:46

Keep trying - I'm sure you can get even more patronising!

Day6 Tue 19-Feb-19 19:32:05

I expect you are middle class socialists though so it’s all a game to you

So true.

This is what has happened to Labour - they are backed by a liberal 'anything goes' brigade (of NIMBYs) who sit in their expensive ivory towers. They *and the majority of students daren't vote any other way for fear of appearing uncool.

grannypauline Tue 19-Feb-19 19:18:40

Tom Watson consistently voted for the Iraq War and against any investigation into Tony Blair's statements to the HOC before it was waged. He has also voted to replace Trident.

And he has cast more votes for student University fees than against.

He voted for ID cards and also mass surveillance of people's communications.

He cast one vote for, and one against, tougher regulations on fracking.

He might belong with the other 7!

Anniebach Tue 19-Feb-19 19:15:31

How many Labour Party members and how many people are eligible to vote ?

lemongrove Tue 19-Feb-19 19:10:03

If the hypocrite cap fits you PECS.....then wear it!
I feel sorry for anyone who thinks poor old Jeremy will ever be PM.....it ain’t gonna happen. His following are not moderate Labour voters, and it’s the voters who count not the far left members.

PECS Tue 19-Feb-19 18:55:56

I am out of London. In the heart of Surrey. The CLP doulbled in size following JC becoming leader.
