When I read the first interview with her in the camp I didn't really feel much sympathy for her.

Today I saw, again, the photograph of Jamima Begum that was taken when she was first interviewed in the camp.

Suddenly I realised that it didn't look like a 19 year old.

It looked like someone in their mid 30's who had not had a very good life so far.

My mind is completely changed.

She was born here. She is British! We must stand by our own!

Bring her back and cope with any problems she presents.

Can't you see GG that posters are objecting to your oft-repeated insistence on correcting spelling and grammar mistakes? (Not once, but many, many times and despite the fact that your own errors have often been flagged up!)

Has it occurred to anyone that spelling mistakes can be nothing to do with the lack of, or a poor education; laziness or carelessness or even simple stupidity, but is actually because they're dyslexic? And if a poster, who is dyslexic, posts on this forum and has been hauled up and humiliated in front of the self appointed English Language Kangaroo Court, how do you think they've been made to feel? A total lack of awareness by some posters.

Schools must have a lot of 'pompous' teachers of English language, if that is the case.
I spent my working life attempting to teach children to spell, and it was not helped by arrogant adults, including members of the education establishment, proclaiming spelling does not matter, . Everyone misspells words at some time; the vast majority accept their mistake and correct it, as appears countless times on here.
There is a difference between a genuine mistake and deliberate carelessness.

What a mess.
Shamima Begum appears as a very stupid, very insensitive and very gullible woman, perfect material for further radicalisation.
If/when she returns to this country she will be a security threat, one that will need constant and expensive monitoring.
The plight of her child is terrible, but so is the thought of removing a days-old baby from his mother. What sort of upbringing she is capable of giving him is debatable, wherever she is.
To send aid directly to her is impossible, following the fate of Aid workers meted out by the organisation she professes to support.
What a mess, and mainly of her own making.

NO. If anything, it shows that I paid attention at school and read a lot.
Why can't people admit thst they got it wrong instead of blaming and pointing the finger at the person who 'quietly' pointed out the mistake?
No-one has a problem about being told that a comment contains incorrect information but point out a mis-spelling and all heck breaks loose and the words 'rude' and 'pompous' are bandied about.

I don't mind being corrected when I have made a mistake but it seems that some on here don't like that to apply to language. I don't happen to think it's ok to say 'Well, you know what is meant'.
Maybe I do, but the writer apparently doesn't.
If I agree that it doesn't matter, that will make two or more of us.

Being a citizen of a country is not the same as being a British national.
I was born here therefore I'm a British national (by birth)
You chose to take British citizenship after a number of years in this country and pledged allegiance to the crown.
I cannot be stripped of my birthright but citizens can have their citizenship removed if certain criteria dictate that it must.

Just in case you feel the need to correct my spelling in a PM as you have done, don't bother as I've blocked you.
If you feel the need to do it publicly I will tell you in no uncertain terms what you can go and do to yourself.
I'm sure that there are some here who understand what that means.

It's a dreadful 'case'. Although I get the so-called populist view that she shouldn't be allowed back into the country she has betrayed, I'm also not sure what Javid has done is wise.

Time will tell. It's interesting as well as dreadful.

I disagree 100%. It sets a dangerous precedent as to how many other British citizens can be deprived of their rights by the Government and the Home Office because their parents were immigrants.

I've seen this argument in a few places. I think those using it are forgetting that this young woman has behaved traitorously towards the country of which she was a citizen. I don't think whatever legality Javid has used in this case could be used against any non-traitorous citizen descended from immigrants.
It is being argued that what Javid has done is against international law on such matter and, as people have said, the ruling is going to be challenged anyway.

Begum has been described as an A-grade student in some reports and she apparently wasn't traumatised by seeing a severed human head in a bin.

I'm more interested in what someone says than whether their spelling is perfect. I too think it's rude - and rather pompous- to comment on other people's spelling and grammar.

On the issue of this young woman. She certainly hasn't done herself any favours with the stance she appears to be taking. However, she might be frightened of being critical of ISIS because there are bound to be ISIS supporters in the refugee camp. Or she might be traumatised, brainwashed or of limited intelligence. A more crafty person would make a grovelling apology, shed copious tears and say how much she hated living under the rule of ISIS.

I think it is wrong to expect a very poor country like Bangladesh to take her in and to send her to a country of which she has no experience and, I would imagine, where she has no support. I don't agree with meeting wickedness and cruelty with more cruelty.

I realise that such a comment will enrage a lot of people, but it's my view.

What's needed is to treat these people as if they have a dangerous infectious disease.
How would you do that? What is the success rate of de radicalisation programmes? How much would it cost the British tax payer? How would you know she was "cured"? The Parsons Green bomber, Ahmed Hassan, had just finished a de radicalisation course when he decided to hop on tube on the District Line with a bomb in a bag and he injured 30 people. So that went well then didn't it? Shall we still take the risk with SB and all the others wanting to come back home?

She should be allowed to return even although she will be very expensive to rehabilitate, and maybe impossible to rehabilitate. These Daesh people are still dangerous and must be isolated from influencing others if at all possible .

Another justification for allowing her back into the UK is that we should not risk being guilty of actual cruelty. It's useless to use retribution. What's needed is to treat these people as if they have a dangerous infectious disease.

Poof, I often get e and a mixed up. Yes I had to learn English to go to school ? because we were not allowed to speak Welsh , thankfully now, children can be educated in Welsh or English speaking schools.

Correcting posters spelling or grammer shows not only lack of respect but a need to believe ‘ this will prove I am sooo clever. Sad in my opinion

Agree with previous comments that it is rude to correct others and arrogant to say you know best and are in effect 'doing us a favour' by pointing out mistakes.
I could quote earlier pedantic, know-it-all posts from this poster where she makes mistakes in spelling and grammar (despite boasting of skills in proof-reading) but I won't descend to that level.
