Just wondering how many grans will be in London on March 23rd? We've just booked our train tickets; I'm not called grannyactivist for nothing! grin

urmstongran And for the likes of jura2, MaizieD, varian, crystaltipps et all - guess what? You all keep banging on about ‘Leave lies’ -please point out where I have been “banging on about leaver lies”?
Anyway, when did two wrongs make a right? Surely if lies are in your mind equally distributed it negates both campaigns and an even more of an argument to revisit the question in point now we have more knowledge of the veracity of said arguments.

petra Sat 16-Mar-19 22:48:59

I see our lorry drivers are going to block motorways if Article 50 is extended.

lemongrove Sat 16-Mar-19 22:28:52

Certainly will Urmston ??

Urmstongran Sat 16-Mar-19 22:28:25

Those who want out.

varian Sat 16-Mar-19 22:23:30

most of who?

Urmstongran Sat 16-Mar-19 22:01:55

lemongrove won’t it be refreshing (for most of us) to just move on? Yes, I know ‘to the negotiations - it’s just the beginning’ as Remainers keep reminding us.

But nice, all the same.

If TM can get this through it’ll be good. It’s been a long time coming.

Urmstongran Sat 16-Mar-19 21:56:24

Nope. I can’t jura2 without trawling for links and counter evidence. Which is probably out there somewhere on t’internet.....

Anyway I counter balanced the lies accusation.

lemongrove Sat 16-Mar-19 21:55:55

Urmstongran...there won’t be any replies, apparently the lies were only on one side (GN myth) wink

It’s quite ridiculous that we will be leaving the EU very soon, and people are still bemoaning the referendum results of 2016 !
It’s all in the past, there won’t be any going back, we will be leaving.
The sky will not fall in, the sun will shine etc etc.
All these repetitive posts about referendum lies, dodgy money, Farage, Banks, Trump, Putin and so on won’t accomplish anything.

jura2 Sat 16-Mar-19 21:46:29

oh dear, I do apologise- my goodness- cooked my OH a nice dinner for his BD instead of immediately responding to Urmstongran. I am still waiting for questions I asked months and months ago - and for which no reply ever came forwards- but, I will apologise for my tardyness (sp?).

I do think you are confusing LIES and PREDICTIONS.

But what about proven foreign interference, and Farage and Banks working with Trump, Putin and alt right groups (well I suppose I could be accused of that, lol) - what about dodgy money, from the same people. What about illegal and hidden targeting of some groups. What about Bank using all his Insurance staff to campaign, undeclared, for months?

Can you give evidence of this happening with the Remain campaign?

Urmstongran Sat 16-Mar-19 21:37:23

No comments yet on my last post? I’ll wait.
I’m renowned for my patience.

Tom Brake MP, Brexit spokesman for the Liberal Democrats, says "Why does Parliament get to change its mind, but not the people? It's double standards of the highest order."

The Liberal Democrats have campaigned for an Exit from Brexit since the day after the 2016 Referendum. This motion reaffirms our policy of a public vote between the Governments deal and remaining in the European Union.

This motion also calls on the Government to:

- revoke Article 50 if no deal is agreed a week before we are due to leave the European Union.
- remove the deadline for settled status applications, -provide additional support to those who need it.
- create an emergency Brexit Support Fund of at least £7.5 billion to mitigate job losses caused by Brexit uncertainty.
- ensure the UK’s participation in the 2019 European Parliamentary Elections, if any extension of Article 50 means that the UK is still a member of the EU at the time of the election.

jura2 Sat 16-Mar-19 20:44:59

'interested ' not 'understanding' - sorry.

Any ideas?

Urmstongran Sat 16-Mar-19 20:44:40

Lies at referendum time? Oh no ?

Who would have thought it? Aren’t all politicians and campaigners squeaky clean? We’d have to be daft to believe that!

And for the likes of jura2, MaizieD, varian, crystaltipps et all - guess what? You all keep banging on about ‘Leave lies’ ..... well here are a few of the porkies ‘Remain’ tried to scare us with:

REMEMBER THESE?

You told us that there would be an emergency budget.

“Within days of the poll, the idea was dropped.

“You told us that we would be £4,300 worse off per family, a figure that no one now tries to defend.

“You told us that our stock market would collapse. In fact, British stocks are, at the time of writing, the best performing in Europe.”

Remainers also brought the German finance minister over to London to warn that the UK would be “treated like any third country” during the referendum campaign.

“Now that same minister says that a special status will be found that protects the close commercial relationship between the UK and Germany, and that he only used that phrase at George Osborne’s specific request.”

Please desist from pretending the lies were all one sided. It’s wearisome keep reading the same links and verbose tracts.

jura2 Sat 16-Mar-19 19:57:10

I am truly understanding- are some of you

a) denying that Leave Campaign lied massively, and that the fraud, foreign interference, illgal hidden targetting and use of dodgy money happened

or

b) accept that it did happen but that it is irrelevant in a democracy?

MaizieD Sat 16-Mar-19 19:01:52

Lockey pointed out that this margin was much smaller than the 4% margin of victory during the EU referendum, which he said was now being discredited.

Mr Lockey is disingenuous. We're not discrediting the 4% margin of victory; though it's held by scientists to be statistically negligible. We're objecting to a referendum won by corruption, illegality and lies. A real subversion of democracy.

andycameron69 Sat 16-Mar-19 18:35:32

can i mince along in my kitten heels

hope so

varian Sat 16-Mar-19 18:11:24

Look at the video and see who is shouting "we're going to London to stop the brexit betrayal" - not one of the poor Sunderland "left-behinds" but none other than multimillionaire member of the brexit elite, Richard Tice.

I wonder if he intends to walk all the way?

Urmstongran Sat 16-Mar-19 16:04:16

Very interesting- this just now in the Graun:

A row soon broke out with counter-protesters who turned up carrying red love hearts with messages including “we love workers’ rights” and “we love to have a say”. One set off blue and yellow flares , the colours of the EU, as protesters chanted “exit Brexit”.

Barry Lockey, who arrived in Sunderland carrying a flag with the message “Get Britain out: Time to leave the EU”, said that the event was about supporting democracy. “The democracy in the parliament building has been spot on. They’ve got their no-deal taken off the table by four votes,” he said.

Lockey pointed out that this margin was much smaller than the 4% margin of victory during the EU referendum, which he said was now being discredited. “I’m sorry, but that really riles me. And they’re not going to get away with it.”

jura2 Sat 16-Mar-19 14:52:38

100s of 1000s will march peacefully. In the meantime, not even 200 turn up for Farage- and one of them has thumped a woman who was peacefully demonstrating- just like another assaulted a woman outside Westminster the other day.

Says it all. And Farage won't even go on the rest of the march - says he has to go and do his job as MEP in Brussels - bizarre as he has never bothered before.

I was determined to go on the march on 23rd- but my duty is elsewhere at the moment- so glad many friends have agreed to put my name on their banners- and I shall be with them all the way in spirit xxx

Rowantree Sat 16-Mar-19 13:12:37

If my anxiety relapse will allow me, I'll be there. We planned our short break in Shropshire to fit in with the march.

It's all such a blimmin mess and in the meantime, important issues aren't being dealt with properly. Or at all.
Should never have happened.

Miepl; don't worry. We're not just marching just for ourselves but for everyone who wants to be there but can't. My friend puts my name on her flag when I can't get to London, although, thankfully, this time I can. smile

Jalima1108 Mon 11-Mar-19 12:52:47

No, I haven't forgotten that, Jalima but how is it relevant to the poll results that varian posted?
They are obviously what is termed 'flip-flopping'.

Changing their minds - who knows if they could change them again.

jura2 Mon 11-Mar-19 12:40:50

Maizie is indeed very very well informed- facts, from the experts with massive experience.
