LBC are reporting that SB lawyers are trying to verify that her new born son has died

EllanVannin Mon 11-Mar-19 20:26:25

GrannyGravy, my GS has no other choice than to take his orders from above whatever they might be and if he had the mindset that you're suggesting he should have, then there's no place in the armed forces for him. They have to be emotionally detached from some of their duties as you should appreciate.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 20:02:02

Technically I believe we were when we went into Iraq (Tony Blairs lies re WMD) in Afghanistan we were supporting the government against the Taliban.

I am more than happy to be corrected by someone if I have got the above wrong.

Chewbacca Mon 11-Mar-19 20:00:00

They have some way to go yet trisher. The petition to ban all ISIS members from returning to the UK is currently at 579,852 and is due to be debated in parliament on 18th March.

For those with a conscience a petition to bring this young woman home is taking off Please sign www.change.org/p/sajid-javid-bring-shamima-begum-to-justice-bring-her-home?signed=true
Nearly 15000 signatures already. There are enough of us who care.

Lily65 Mon 11-Mar-19 19:24:08

So are we at war with Iraq and Afghanistan?

Jalima1108 Mon 11-Mar-19 19:22:25

The thing we must all remember is that this young woman hates us and all we stand for.
JenniferEccles Do you not think, then, that making her stateless will make her even more angry and therefore a dangerous tool in the wrong hands?

Allowing her to come back, making her face justice followed by a rehabilitation programme could change her - or at least she could be watched in future.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 19:16:48

Judt reread my last post, I deleted not s sgt before posting, obviously did not work. apologies EV

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 19:07:33

AC is an officer not s Sgt.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 19:06:54

I understand that EV, we are the same, and most of the time we do not know where AC has been and what he has done.

I asked the question as you seemed to imply that these people were “not your problem”, are you happy for them to be your GSs problem?

EllanVannin Mon 11-Mar-19 19:01:52

GrannyGravy, my GS is a sergeant and stationed at Wiltshire and will only say where he's going but never more than that so who knows what his duties might be ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 18:54:01

I do read the DM "Weekender" magazine as MrGG13 buys the DM on a Saturday for the magazine.

When we go out for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday they always have a variety of newspapers and I am always astonished at how the same story can be reported so differently in each publication. I really do not know why this surprises me even now, as I have been saying the same thing for the last 40+ years????

Fennel Mon 11-Mar-19 18:25:50

M0nica I also read the DM online and find it has a broader range of news and views than the Guardian etc. Which I often buy.
I do skip all the celeb. news though.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 18:18:34

EV you said your GC was in the armed forces, would you be happy for him to be deployed to secure the camps in Syria?

I wouldn't be happy for our AC to have to send his men out on patrol in those circumstances. As we know he would be right beside them, as he has never asked his men to do anything he hasn't/would not do.

It is not as easy as "leaving them there"

EllanVannin Mon 11-Mar-19 17:57:33

Well said,Jennifer Eccles.

EllanVannin Mon 11-Mar-19 17:56:10

Why should I be, Notanan ? It's not my problem.

notanan2 Mon 11-Mar-19 17:48:40

I couldn't give a tinkers cuss what happens to or about stateless citizens

You also appear to not give a toss about the country they are dumped/abandoned in

M0nica Mon 11-Mar-19 17:25:30

I do not even apologise I read the DM because DH believes that one should always read two newspapers, one that one agrees with and another that puts the other side. Our other newspaper used to be the The Independent and is now the i. We can also, at times be found reading The Guardian and the Daily Telegraph (a good read on a Saturday). Frankly the DM is much better read than the Guardian. The DM certainly has much better Medical and Personal Finance sections. the Daily Telegraph is too aspirational and the Guardian gives one moral indigestion it is so self righteous.

JenniferEccles Mon 11-Mar-19 17:06:39

The thing we must all remember is that this young woman hates us and all we stand for.

What makes me particularly angry is the fact that although she was born here, her parents weren't. They were permitted to settle here and make use of our free healthcare, education etc for their children who were born here, and this is how one of them repays us.

SB should be grateful to be living here with unlimited opportunities to get on in life, but instead she rejected all that and joined a vile terrorist organisation which wish us in the West harm.

Those in favour of unlimited immigration should remember that because of course SB is not the only one to have chosen the path she did.
Sickening.

Jalima1108 Mon 11-Mar-19 16:43:48

Always the same with some people wanting to help the perpetrators and forgetting the innocent victims of crime.
Yes, Nicenanny, isn't it always the same ?

Those remarks are an insult to people who are very concerned about the victims, the refugees of these wars and crises, about the rehabilitation of those servicemen who went, the families of those who lost their lives there.

No-one has forgotten them by questioning the legality of what is happening to these women and their young children and what is the best course of action now for all of us for our future security.

Lily65 Mon 11-Mar-19 16:38:14

Apologies, I am a closet Mail glancer.

Beckett Mon 11-Mar-19 15:24:31

Lily65 My friend would be most offended to be accused of reading the Mail !! - I think she said she saw it on some social media site

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 15:19:21

Lily65 I do not read the Mail

GrannyGravy13 Mon 11-Mar-19 15:18:41

Beckett I have read of this also, but if we leave them where they are the hatred towards all none Daesh will fester and grow as will the followers who will commit atrocities in the name of those abandoned.

There is no unilateral solution to this, but Governments from all over the world need to get together and see if they can come up with something, surely anything is better than what is happening in Syria now?

Lily65 Mon 11-Mar-19 15:17:23

How is your Grandson in Iraq and Afghan defending " our freedom" Are/were we at war with these countries, I must have missed that bit.

Beckett, your chum has been reading The Mail.

Beckett Mon 11-Mar-19 15:14:54

What proof do we have that "de-radicalisation" works? Those who left European countries to fight for Isis have been told to return home and continue the fight any way they can.

A friend has told me she has seen a film of a female Isis supporter who states the enslavement and rape of women and child prisoners is OK because they are the property of the captors. In the film she apparently also says that the fight will continue and Isis enemies will be knee deep in blood.
