I think your holiday resort is not necessarily reflective of opinion in Europe, My Italian family are somewhat surprised as they are used to having weak coalition governments and ghastly populists, and always considered the UK to be an icon of political stability - no longer -"your politicians are as bad as ours - no - worse!" is the somewhat wry comment. You should see some of the articles and comments in the New York Times if you don't think we're seen as being laughable.

The people I spoke to in Spain recently cannot understand why we're leaving, but that is perhaps dozen people I had conversations with. The local news media informed me that the fruit growers are very concerned about export of their products to the UK post Brexit.

I am out of the UK at the moment, I have not witnessed “everyone” laughing at us.

In fact the total opposite, those without blinkers can see the problems the Euro zone has, German Bonds are now yielding 0.00%. Their have been more anti- EU politicians elected to European Parliaments then ever before.

They think we are doing the correct thing and that others will swiftly follow.

And yes the Tories are to blame from David Cameron through to Teresa May and their respective Cabinets. They should hang their heads in shame.

Wobbles you surely cannot be equating the impact of the University fees deception with the impact of leaving the EU? Millions of people are affected by the withdrawal from the EU and the terms were never going to never suit all factions. That was apparent from the outset.

The tragedy is that the Tories led us into this and they don't appear to know how to get us through it.

Joelsnan. I agree with you too. Two questions versus one would of course split the leave vote and remain would win! A nifty move! but hopefully, nipped in the bud should another referendum be the final outcome!

I too whole heartedly agree with your comments Wobbles as I too am sorry for all the same reasons as you. BUT, like you I am not sorry for voting leave as I have the right to vote as I see fit and see no reason wby I should be expected to justify that vote. As for fraud and deception?! Project Fear was hardly truthful, and certainly enacted to 'frighten' people into voting remain. As for the bus! a) that was a suggestion,not a fact, and b) it was a suggestion for AFTER we had LEFT the EU! We haven't left -yet, so who knows if it will be honoured or not?!

A further referendum may be the way, but if you split the leave options into
Leave no deal
Leave TM deal
Remain would win unless both leave votes were combined to achieve another leave or remain result.
If by combining both leave options the leave vote did win then the result should be sub divided into No deal or TM.
Alternatively it could be argued that there is already a leave result so any further referendum should only be on the basis of no deal or TM deal.

MaizieD I addressed my post to the countries of the EU because this is the way I feel.
And I said I will not apologise for voting as I did.
I would be very happy if a second referendum was called with the voting paper saying
1/ Teresa May's deal
2/ No deal
3/ Stay in the EU
Let the voters decide

The only positive is the petition to revoke article 50.

I'm sorry David Cameron pledged to allow this referendum to go ahead without thinking through the consequences if the voters chose the Leave option.

I'm sorry Teresa May and her government did not consider forming a cross party commission to negotiate an amicable deal for all countries.

I'm sorry the process of our Parliament has descended into a farce because the various political parties are hell bent on self interest and fighting amongst themselves.

However, I have the right to vote in a referendum to decide if MY country Leaves or Remains in the EU.
I do not have to apologise to you or anyone for being one of the 52% who voted to Leave.
I do not have to justify to anyone why I voted that way.

Self serving MPs from all sides , aided by a useless government.

I am sorry to say that the rest of the world is laughing at the UK and no wonder. We were a well respected country with a great history, an important member country of the EU, the world's largest and most successful trading block and we are threatening to throw all that away on the basis of a fraudulent referendum.

The only way we will ever be able to regain respect is to admit that in 2016 our democracy was high-jacked and a small number of our citizens were fooled, but we have now realised that was something that should never have happened, we want to remain EU members and we owe our fellow member countries an abject apology.

Maybe you werent, however you was responding to a post that was using that analogy.
With regard to your own analogy re amputation and headache.
There may be scenarios where this may be an appropriate outcome however it would probably involve years of research to ascertain. Realistically though the probability of this scenario arising is 100/1 against. Just as severing UK from Europe has the same odds (seisemic events permitting)
