Flipping heck Joel a ranting post like that when you’re sober. What would you post if you drank?

I digressed - the programme was about Hungary today and the realities there - a member of the EU but quite different to our view of the EU.

Jalima1108 Sat 23-Mar-19 23:07:18

I was listening to an interesting programme on R4 this afternoon - unfortunately I missed some of it as I was travelling at the time.

It is disgusting to think of those Brexit supporters acting in such a manner especially when there are children close by.
Shocking, absolutely shocking.
But who on earth would take children to a demonstration? They really need to take a reality check. It is not something anyone with any sense would do.

WE ARE EUROPEAN like it or lump it, we cannot change that fact why do some of you want to draw away from your roots for the sake of some misplaced xenophobia
I suppose it depends on what you think your roots are. Mine are French, possibly Belgian plus Ango-Saxon. Unless I take a DNA test I will not be sure.

Roots - Celtic? Roman? Viking? Anglo-Saxon? French-Belgian? Jewish? Pakistani? Indian? Caribbean? European? etc etc.
These are our roots

And people in wheelchairs. Frightening to be caught up in anything like that I imagine.

petra, in regard to your post @ 16:45 today, it has been already debated earlier in this thread.

Grandad1943 Sat 23-Mar-19 16:53:31

Well done crystaltipps I would imagine you are exhausted now. It is disgusting to think of those Brexit supporters acting in such a manner especially when there are children close by.

However, it is now what many of us have come to expect from a percentage of "brain dead" supporters in the leave cause. Trying to block Britains main arterial transport routes and throwing insults at families with children in a march are acts that those people would not think twice about and will see no wrong whatsoever in carrying out.

Anyway many thanks crystaltipps I am sure you have the appreciation of many of us who were not in London today. wink

petra Sat 23-Mar-19 16:45:40

I don't suppose there was any chance that 1 million people in the centre of London would cause any traffic hold up?

Urmstongran Sat 23-Mar-19 16:41:12

crystaltipps you are hoping for a response. You may have posted (inadvertently?) on the wrong thread as there is one specifically for the ‘march’.

Just on the train coming home from the March all very good humoured and friendly. Only low point a small group of unpleasant Brexit supporters in Trafalgar Square shouting abuse at people gathered there, many of them families with children and people in wheelchairs ( that was the starting point for the shorter march). They were moved away by police. Some good speakers, notable Sandy Tosvig , James O Brien, an assortment of MPs from all parties, Nicola Sturgeon, plus some young people from various parts of the U.K. , some good music and Brexit comedy. The chanting of “Theresa May must go”was so loud she must have heard it, if she was at home that is.

Quite Jabberwok ❗️
Ah MissA another brilliantly funny post! Take a recommend for the wittiest comment of the day - I’m certain it won’t be bettered ??

Still no answers about the signing of article 50 by deceitful
MP's Urmstongran !!! No surprise there though!!!

MissAdventure Sat 23-Mar-19 16:16:07

Corbyn in Morecambe..
Is that Wise?

Urmstongran Sat 23-Mar-19 16:12:39

Actually I’m glad we live in a democratic country. I’m happy these people can go for a walk and complain. However, I’m also very clear. If we do actually live in a democracy, the 17.4 million who voted out must be heard and we need to leave.

A protest march can’t overturn a referendum. If Brexit is cancelled, democracy is dead in the uk and people have no idea what they are unleashing.

Urmstongran Sat 23-Mar-19 16:09:23

Corbyn is in Morecambe.
?
More good news!

Grandad1943 Sat 23-Mar-19 15:58:38

Here is good news, the organisers of the "a Peoples Vote" are claiming that over a million people are marching in London today (23/03/19) in support of that demand.

It certainly looks from the TV news channels that organisers may well be correct in their claims. Tom Watson addressing the match has called Brexit "a national Tory disaster."

How right he is in that statement, and how wonderful to see such a number of logical sensible people willing to spend their time and energy in such a manner.

In the meantime, Leavers turn to the attempted illegal blocking Btitains main arterial transport routes, which is justified only in their demented minds

Great comparison of actions to be made in the above.

maryeliza54 Sat 23-Mar-19 15:37:31

Ahhhh ‘reality’ an interesting concept
