Sorry, I cannot make the connection there. I don't see why wearing the hat or making that statement makes someone thick and bigoted,
Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢
The government repeatedly claims exiting the EU is 'the will of the people'. Well now there is a petition demonstrating the strength of public support for revoking article 50!

A leaver , wearing a hat saying Make America Great
Again, was just interviewed on the march and said,
"This should have been an amazing day for England!"
Well there's a sign of thick and bigoted!
Just got back from the march. Thousands of people who want to leave the EU. No sign of any thick, bigottted (your spelling 'paddyann' and belligerent people. By the way, what particular issues do you have with people who are bald and fat?
Those of us who voted remain were disappointed when the referendum didn't go our way but I don't remember any scenes like these we're seeing now of mob-handed, threatening behaviour.
Yet more reinforcement of the opinions we've formed re the mindset of a significant number of brexit voters I'm afraid!
Really paddyann!! when you see posts here on GN from those of us who voted for Brexit, do you 'see' us as "bald fat, loud mouthed union jack waving"?
There are idiots on both sides I'm sure that said, here on GN the award for making the most insulting remarks must surely go to remainers .
It was of course great that the pro EU march went so well but there may well have been some very angry EU flag waving marchers, if the result of the referendum had been to remain, and those marching were doing so to have the promise of the result upheld.
Same here Maw There has never been trouble at any Independence march...only the folk on the sidelines waving union flags and threatening folk who get picked up by the police .I hear the idiot OO member who has been invited not once but FOUR times to Question time has taken his "band" to the demo today .Well if the rest are as thick ,bigottted and as belligerent as he is it will certainly be a riot.To be honest thats exactly the type that I immediately think of when Brexit is mentioned, bald fat ,loud mouthed union jack waving and thinks ENGLAND IS the UK .the rest of us belong to England .We hear it on news items regularly .
Shots of the “March” in London on TV look very ugly indeed. How different from the family atmosphere of previous anti-Brexit marches last weekend and nearly three years ago.
I am seeing a very unattractive face of my country, reminding me of the posturing of Orange Day parades of N Ireland and Glasgow.
There is so much anger at this shambles that any question that this somehow is indicative of a democratic process is hard to perceive.
No one one in this country has actually ever voted to join the European Union! To join the Common Market, yes! but that was a very different entity . We joined the EU by stealth and duplicitous politicians, and now I fear , we're stuck with it as escape seem completely impossible!
Off to Parliament this afternoon to support hundreds of thousands of fellow leavers at the March to Leave and Make Brexit Happen rally.
Interestingly TM and Leave are now using there own version of Project Fear to try to scare MPs into backing her WA.
The majority did after all vote to leave, if we can revoke this decision then what's next?
Decisions are 'revoked' all the time in parliament when laws are repealed or amended for ideological or practical reasons. While I can see a certain logic in that reason it doesn't seem, to me, to have much to do with reality.
I think that another reason that these Remainers are gallantly defending 'democracy' is that they don't realise how corrupted the referendum was. Most people aren't in the social media bubbles which publicise it and it has got practically no coverage in the mainstream media.
6 million for a petition is an extraordinary achievement and represents a massive depth of feeling. The various campaigning organisations, such as Avaaz, Change.Org etc. think they are doing really well if they get into the 100 thousands with their petitions.
It is in no way comparable with voting...
A lot of remainers have not signed it because they are concerned about the implications for democracy. The majority did after all vote to leave, if we can revoke this decision then what's next? (Btw, I did sign after thinking hard about it because I think it is so vital and also because I really believe that the options we are now faced with are not what anyone voted for!)
Maybe some of them are no longer with us Kadinsky. That's one of the arguments put forward by some remainers for a second referendum, that some who voted for Brexit have since died.
When you think of the amount of people in the UK, 6 million people is tiny. Why haven’t the 16 million people who voted to remain signed it?
I think the majority of people couldn’t care less about brexit now tbh.
Yes Saffie I noticed that too, still just short of 6 million. Aside from Emailing your MP there is little the public can do. A long extension, taking part in the Euro elections is all we can hope for. Then when the truth finally dawns revoking article 50 and staying in with or without a second poll.
If we leave (frying pan into the fire) going back may not be possible certainly not on our present good terms. To leave like many I genuinely believe is madness led by lies and populism.
Obey democracy by all means but not when it means committing such economic self harm. If we opt to stay in there will be some protest, loss of Tory face (who cares about that) and HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF from most of the country.
Can I just say pleeeese. Revoke Article 50 petition seems to be slowing down to a crawl. I work silly hours so have been watching the number rise and rise even thru the night. We must not give up now, KEEP SIGNING.
If we keep the pace up maybe we could even match 17000!!
At least we can go down still fighting, don't lost heart.
I didn't see that series either, but as a child, I loved the 'Just William' books.
Oh I see, I never saw that series. But the original characters in the books are still fairly fresh in my mind.
Fennel.......as played on tv by Bonnie Langford.
It doesn’t matter how many names are added to an epetition, it means very little and has zero legal status.
Exactly Fennel!!!!
Her you can see how quickly the signatures are piling up in your constituency.

A referendum trumps a petition grandtante. Sorry. Don’t raise your hopes whatever the number involved.
Kapitan your quote is from Violet Elizabeh Bott in the Just William books.
two days
"I'll thcream and thcream until I'm thick. I can!" The lament of the defeated remainers. (Apologies to Bonnie Langford).
