What happened to sneaky plotting?

Where has the art of sneaky plotting gone? grin It’s on the radio, ( and other places) that right wing Conservatives are meeting tonight at 7pm to discuss (plotting) ways of getting T May to go.
There are few secrets now, imagine if social media had been around in Guy Fawkes day...... on twitter ‘ Going to be one helluva bang tonite in da House folks, LOL’ etc.
I know, he was found out anyway, but it seems that doing things the sneaky way has pretty much gone the way of the dinosaurs.

Quizqueen is that the same John Redwood who was paid £250k last year for a part-time job with Charles Stanley investement advisors? His valuable advice to investors was "take all your money out of the UK".

He is like a vulture anticipating the huge damage that would be done to the UK economy if a no deal brexit was not prevertend. Then he and his tax-dodging associates could swoop down and hoover up the assets of all the UK companies which would go bust.

Disaster capitalism. OK for the very rich, but what about the poor turkeys who were fooled by this empty rhetoric, only to find themselves jobless and paying for their foolishness for the rest of their lives?.

Hmmmmm - well in that case the brave thing would be to hold a press conference on the steps of a police station and then hand yourself in. Of course thst might get in the way of your PM ambitions.

If the Chinese are involved in our 5G rollout then we have lost our security anyway.........

pinkquartz Thu 25-Apr-19 18:36:10

I think that whoever leaked did so because they thought we the public needed to know the next stupid mistake this Govt was about to make.
It is unbelievable that we allow the Chinese into out comms systems. crazy.
So I am glad the leak happened. I doubt any other countries will be thinking highly of the UK for much longer anyway.
We are an awful mess atm

LuckyFour- I think you can safely say that if May's deal is supported by the EU then it would certainly be bad for the UK...... see link for letter sent by John Redwood to Geoffrey Cox outlining everything that is wrong with the deal.... unitynewsnetwork.co.uk/john-redwood-mp-in-explosive-letter-that-destroys-theresa-mays-withdrawl-agreement ....sorry, not sure this will work!

It pretty much spells out why it's such a bad deal; in fact it's more or less the same as staying in the EU, which is why the Brexiteers are so against it.

Mycatisahacker Thu 25-Apr-19 18:21:47

I think the leaker?? Could actually be prosecuted according to radio reports tonight!

maryeliza54 Thu 25-Apr-19 17:41:33

‘Other interests’ is generally quite lucrative as well?

Callistemon Thu 25-Apr-19 17:25:08

‘spend more time with their family’ or whatever they do these days.
I think that "pursue other interests" is quite appealing these days too!

There seems to be no honour amongst these "Right Honourable" members of this Tory cabinet.

The Security Services cannot trust our top politicians who are endangering the nation's security. They should root them out and expose their treachery.

Yes, I know that is a word which has been recently been bandied about and misapplied by the gutter press, but here it is the only word that can be used.

Who are the leakers and why do they seem to be acting in the interests of the potential enemies of the UK. Should we ask Mr Putin?

maryeliza54 Thu 25-Apr-19 17:01:57

There seems to be common agreement that it was one of the cabinet ministers who was there. But I agree lemon we may never know although ‘someone’ may slope off shortly to ‘spend more time with their family’ or whatever they do these days.

Aepgirl Thu 25-Apr-19 16:52:55

Whoever takes over from Mrs M has a hell of a fight on his/her hands.

lemongrove Thu 25-Apr-19 16:41:19

Whoever leaked ( security meeting) should lose their job, no matter who they are.
Could be a politician, or a civil servant, who are presumably at these meetings, recording etc.
It may never come out though.

Callistemon Thu 25-Apr-19 16:31:37

I don't know

Perhaps ask Julian Assange his opinion on leaks

I do like Frank Gardner - shall we make him PM?
(can we have a sneaky meeting about it on here please? Don't tell anyone though!)

maryeliza54 Thu 25-Apr-19 15:59:43

I’ve just read a tweet from
Frank Gardner which confirmed what I’d assumed - everyone at the meeting had signed the Officisl Secrets Act. If our security forces now start to feel they can’t trust these cabinet members and therefore won’t share info with them, where does that take us? The more I think about this leak, the more I am shocked. Do you think newspapers ought to be able to publish such leaks?

maryeliza54 Thu 25-Apr-19 12:51:52

Urm for once I’m utterly shocked that this leak has happened. Security chiefs are apparently and with good reason furious. This really is beyond acceptable.

Urmstongran Thu 25-Apr-19 12:00:23

I think sneaky plotting or ‘letting the cat out of the bag’ has gone on over the 5G Huawei deal.

Classified details about UK's 5G plans were discussed with cabinet ministers.

Details of the meeting leaked out shortly afterwards to the fury of UK spy chiefs.

Tory MP Nicholas Soames said: 'Whoever is responsible should be dismissed'

Labour yesterday demanded an official investigation into the information leak.

Politics is indeed a dirty business once the greasy pole has been climbed!

LuckyFour Thu 25-Apr-19 11:31:16

I feel sorry for T. May. She has worked so hard to try to get a deal, she must feel devastated about how it's gone. What a rotten time to take over the Prime Minister job. D Cameron is to blame.

If they would only spell out the deal in plain English, point by point, so that we know exactly what's in it we could then have a referendum with full knowledge about what leaving the EU means.

Minerva Thu 25-Apr-19 10:08:38

You can be sure that there was plenty of sneaky plotting going on before they announced a meeting for tonight.

Mycatisahacker Wed 24-Apr-19 20:42:55

Oh love it!

I think the woman plugs herself in every night.

maryeliza54 Wed 24-Apr-19 18:32:21

I heard that Graham Brady is going round to see her at no 10 ( with the loaded pistol)

Urmstongran Wed 24-Apr-19 18:09:29

As long as there are politicians there will be plots!

Change UK group plots to destroy the Lib Dems and hoover up their members, MPs and donors, leaked memo reveals today.

It also rules out working with the party, saying: ‘No mergers, pacts or alliances'

Mycatisahacker Wed 24-Apr-19 18:03:34

She will be there forever chained to her desk!

Nope can’t spell at all but I like Laura .........grin

Gonegirl Wed 24-Apr-19 17:51:52

Kuenssberg!

Well, can you spell it?!

Gonegirl Wed 24-Apr-19 17:50:41

"No changes to rules to oust a PM.

Another non coup coup."

Laura Kaunsberg on Twitter.

Mycatisahacker Wed 24-Apr-19 17:29:20

gringrin too true.

Wonder if they will oust her?
