Sparklefizz Tue 07-May-19 10:32:20

I reckon Elvis Keanu Buddy! (sorry)

mamaa Tue 07-May-19 10:29:52

I reckon Francis might be one of the names- as Diana was Diana Frances, I think!

Bridgeit Tue 07-May-19 10:29:10

Ahh yes apologies , it was the manner in which he delivered it. I misread you

Minerva Tue 07-May-19 10:29:09

I remember well that strong feeling for my babies that I would die to keep them safe, healthy and happy. I still would but it doesn’t work that way.

Sparklefizz Tue 07-May-19 10:25:23

Bridgeit You misunderstand me .... I wasn't saying Harry should not have made a public announcement.

Bridgeit Tue 07-May-19 10:16:04

Another big assumption,
Plus isn’t that what a lot of families do, the behaviour is no different except they are expected to share with the public IF they didn’t they would be criticised for that, dammed if they do dammed if they don’t. ?

Sparklefizz Tue 07-May-19 10:11:47

I know Harry was super excited when he made his announcement, which in some ways was nice to see, but in other ways was very immature, especially for a man in his position.

I was a bit worried when he started saying about how incredible it is for a woman to do this - I thought we might be getting a few words on anatomy or worse shock, but I also felt that his choice of words that the baby was "to die for" was appalling. As a man he will never die in childbirth but women have since the dawn of time, and still do.

I know he was like an over-excited puppy but someone in his situation who is used to speaking in public should have chosen his words better, IMHO.

Now I suppose we wait for the Hollywood-style photos with stage lighting, etc.

Bridgeit Tue 07-May-19 10:10:09

Perhaps not mean, but judgemental, I assume you mean Megan, but actually it could be P .Harry who wants to stick to what is his family tradition & circumstances.
Either way does it really matter?

Sara65 Tue 07-May-19 10:08:23

Really? Which one?

Sparklefizz Tue 07-May-19 10:06:35

I had to smile when I read that it is not known whether Harry and Meghan will want the baby to have a royal title. Am I being mean when I say I know that one of them will !!

Grandma70s Tue 07-May-19 10:01:53

He will be called a prince if the queen dies and Charles becomes king. I think it’s faintly ridiculous that MM is called Her Royal Highness simply because she is married to a prince. She’s no more HRH than I am.

Anniebach Tue 07-May-19 09:55:25

As titles have been mentioned, Diana wasn’t a princess

glammanana Tue 07-May-19 09:44:17

Such wonderful news I am sopleased for them both,Princess Diana would have been so proud of her boys and made a brillient Grandmother.

Anniebach Tue 07-May-19 09:00:23

Prince is for the monarchs children and grandchildren, not great grandchildren unless queenie changes this.

Calendargirl Tue 07-May-19 08:57:00

And George may be in there somewhere in honour of baby arriving on GC’s birthday.

Calendargirl Tue 07-May-19 08:54:34

I think the name will be announced at the photo session. Bertie in honour of the queen’s father would be a nice touch, but as it’s already been “taken” by Daniel and Sinead in Corrie is probably considered a bit naff. But then they probably don’t tune in to Corrie.

harrigran Tue 07-May-19 08:54:16

Except this baby will not be a prince, minor royals do not get an automatic title.

Anniebach Tue 07-May-19 08:30:17

Am going to make some cross sorry.

. So stage managed, Harry sends for a tv camera , does his ‘my wonderful wife’ speech , now a two day wait for a photograph which will be so twee, bet they are rehearsing their starry eyed gaze.

Sara65 Tue 07-May-19 07:07:52

What can you possibly say! Welcome baby Prince, and pleased all is well.
I think this is the first royal baby, that I really have no interest in beyond that.
I think the show biz speculation about godparents is putting me off

phoenix Tue 07-May-19 06:53:46

Apparently the Daily Mail has over twenty pages of coverage! shock

paddyann Tue 07-May-19 00:23:50

a bit of sense on one of my sites this evening
"There are or will be 2200 babies born in the UK today ,we wish every one of them and their parents congratuations an da happy healthy future " Its just another baby folks ,maybe we can get a break from it very soon

overthehill Mon 06-May-19 23:50:28

Seeing smiling Harry, to me he looks so like his dad

grumppa Mon 06-May-19 23:01:33

How about Homer for one of his names? Classical, American (Bart's father in the the TV comedy series) and in that connection carrying echoes of a surname that harks back to the last American to marry into the Windsors?

Nannylovesshopping Mon 06-May-19 22:30:24

My lovely daughters birthday today also, we went to
see the seals at Horsey beach and dinner was fish and
chips at Diss, we know how to live?

Urmstongran Mon 06-May-19 20:58:08
