GrannyGravy13 Mon 06-May-19 16:30:52

Congratulations to the Duke & Duchess of Sussex, as long as Mother and Baby are ok everything else is insignificant.

Why on earth do people congregate in Windsor waiting for news ? Have they not got jobs or better things to do ?I wonder what the old Queen Mother would have made of it her grandson marrying a divorced woman . I am happy for Harry that he seems to have found happiness with Megan but remember we are all paying for their their lavish lifestyle while people are increasingly using foodbanks because they cannot get enough to eat.

GabriellaG54 Mon 06-May-19 17:51:36

One of the baby balloons brought to Windsor by a member of the public doesn't look to be very PC to me. hmm

KatyK Mon 06-May-19 18:45:35

I posted on here once that I could never understand why people congregate outside places when things like this happen. Someone replied 'because they want to' which is fair enough. Seems a very odd thing to do.

GabriellaG54 Mon 06-May-19 18:49:44

I think so too as, at best, you only get a fleeting glimpse as they pass by or head for their car.
Standing in freezing weather, as some do, isn't my idea of a day out.
Still, it gives some people the chance to say 'Guess who I saw today?' at the dinner table. grin

KatyK Mon 06-May-19 18:53:57

Mind you, when we were children, our mum dragged all six of us out to watch the queen visiting our area. The queen was behind schedule and whizzed past so quickly that we hardly caught a glimpse. Mum had to cart us all back home again!

I've been to a garden party at the palace and might throw that in at dinner parties. Shame I never go to dinner parties. smile

KatyK grin

Albert must be due for a revival!

Mycatisahacker Mon 06-May-19 19:16:54

I think Freddie Spencer would be nice.

Callistemon Mon 06-May-19 19:17:06

We have (or had) a dear friend called Albert, it they choose that I will always think of him.

GabriellaG54 Mon 06-May-19 19:17:14

KatyK
Poor mum. sad I bet you were all a bit grumpy after a long wait and a whizz past.
The nearest I got to a glimpse of Her Maj was when I drove the wrong way down the High Street in Windsor when the guardsmen were expected to be coming the other way from barracks.
Police politely told me to turn around...it's not the widest street. grin

Callistemon Mon 06-May-19 19:17:33

There is already a Freddie (a Windsor child)

KatyK Mon 06-May-19 19:22:02

Yes Gabriella poor mum. She loved the royals although she was from Southern Ireland.

Mycatisahacker Mon 06-May-19 19:23:11

Oh so there is!!! That’s a shame maybe Francis then?? After Diana but male spelling

Callistemon Mon 06-May-19 19:25:20

Not David anyway.

I like Bertie, so perhaps Albert might be a choice.

Mycatisahacker Mon 06-May-19 19:35:57

Love Bertie!

Is anyone watching sky news? What are these people on pooping champagne and being almost hysterically excited! Dear lord!!!

GabriellaG54 Mon 06-May-19 19:37:14

We must remember that Meghan might have the last word, although she may agree to incorporate a traditional English name for the sake of the Royal family.
Mine you, Zara and Lena aren't traditional Royal names.

Callistemon Mon 06-May-19 19:41:19

Bertie is terribly English!

Mycatisahacker Mon 06-May-19 19:41:26

As long as it’s not Donald!!! grin

Callistemon Mon 06-May-19 19:42:17

Nor is Savannah, nor is Isla

hmm
Any bets, anyone?

Callistemon Mon 06-May-19 19:44:20

Martin Charles Philip Albert Abraham

Grannyben Mon 06-May-19 19:54:40

I'm wondering if the Windsor Castle electrician is currently on his way to the Tower, for making his announcement that the baby was born 8 days ago. Perhaps he might give us the head's up on the name

maryeliza54 Mon 06-May-19 19:56:18

The BBBC 7pm headlines had a stupid stupid stupid stupid woman on saying the birth would unite the nation - WTAF? I’m sick to death of this birth already - anybody would think it actually matters in the greater scheme of things.

Anniebach Mon 06-May-19 20:07:55

Unite the Nation ? Good grief .

Rolling news still showing their engagement, wedding, her public appearances whilst pregnant.
