The equality and human rights commission have launched
an investigation

Devorgilla Tue 20-Aug-19 22:36:40

I posted this information on the thread 'Jews' on Religion but thought some people on this thread would be interested too. Futurelearn, an online course site, has a free course on at the moment called 'Antisemitism' which covers this issue throughout history.

Not alone POGS

So Chris Williams is suing the Labour Party over his suspension.

www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/aug/13/chris-williamson-sues-labour-over-his-suspension-from-party

I will probably be alone in finding this will be interesting story to follow but it is symptomatic of the problems within the Labour Party.

Gloria de Piero, shadow justice minister has quite, and will
not stand for re-election at the next GE.

Lack of tolerance in the Labour Party

Members of GMB within labour staff voted 124 - 4 to
demand apologies for the whistleblowers who took part in
Panorama programme

The whistleblowers were known by other members of staff
to be ‘committed, principled and honest ‘

Well Johno if Boris gets in you may get what you want-An incompetent, womanising clown who promises everything and does nothing.

Anniebach Sat 13-Jul-19 10:29:35

Cheer up, seems we are to have a PM who is a supporter of
Trump

Johno Sat 13-Jul-19 09:31:36

It seems many people on here are longing for a return to the days of bland, grey, mushy, nothingness. When the Blairites controlled everything with Cameron, Miliband, Clegg all working together. We never had a choice on policy and serious change to benefit people. Semantics - semantics... that was it. Just as with the great Trump.. the people are sick of the status. We need a leader like Trump.

Tom Watson is the biggest shyster in politics today. He has never supported Corbyn. Corbyn did not have the guts nor the savvy to dump Watson. If you want a knife in your back and your front Watson is the guy to do it. (PS: for the snowflakes ... I obviously don't mean LITERALLY use a knife and stab people)

Grandad1943 Sat 13-Jul-19 09:25:48

Granny with reference to your above post, I believe that what Watson has carried out is totally unacceptable and disgusting. Tom Watson seems to be making a very early bid for the leadership of the parliamentary Labour party as Jeremy Corbyn has stated he is to stand down.

However, let us hope that Watson's Constituency Party will "bring him to book on this" and perhaps (with any luck) he will subject to one of the forthcoming trigger ballots.

I also see that his recent conduct is a subject on the agenda for the next NEC meeting.

Johno Sat 13-Jul-19 09:23:59

I have yet to see evidence of antisemitism as alleged at Corbyn and others. This is a word,/label aimed at controlling freedom of expression. The fact is, The Establishment will never allow Socialism to take hold in government and will try to stop Corbyn at all cost. I dont like Corbyn or the Labour party. Labour is opposed to free speech. I am a free speech absolutist, within the law. If people can not see that this crap is raised by the MSM every time there is a serious problem with the Torys then I must say I find that amazing.

is there a suggestion my Jewish friends aren’t “lovely” because they no,longer feel welcome in the LP?

Anniebach Sat 13-Jul-19 09:11:55

Lovely Jewish lady ? You know her personally or she is
‘Lovely’ because she is a friend of Corbyn ?

Grany Sat 13-Jul-19 09:05:34

I just don’t understand why the deputy leader of the Labour Party uses the media to demand information from Labour’s General Secretary
@JennieGenSec
, which has already been offered to him. It goes beyond my understanding that he does so when he knows she’s undergoing chemotherapy

Are you saying this lovely Jewish lady is lying? You realise trying to take the voice of this woman (and the many many others who’ve publicly spoken out against the smear campaign) is AS

That’s when it started lemon

lemongrove Thu 11-Jul-19 09:09:18

It was inevitable since the double whammy of letting all the £3 Marxists into the Party and Corbyn becoming the LOTO.

Anniebach Thu 11-Jul-19 08:41:31

Tom has a lot of enemies within the party now.

I didn’t know Corbyn shared a platform with the man who
claims ‘the Jews were responsible for 9/11.

Iam64 Thu 11-Jul-19 08:36:00

I caught the end of this interview. I couldn't help but picture the image of those men shouting "sack Tom Watson" as Jeremy left a meeting recently.
The splits are dreadful, worse than any I've known.

Anniebach Thu 11-Jul-19 08:17:36

Tom Watson being interviewed on ‘Today’

He is deputy leader but is not allowed access to any letters of
complaints of anti semetism, he is not allowed to know the numbers.

Anniebach Wed 10-Jul-19 22:20:30

It is already being denied , it isn’t the Labour Party now

Iam64 Wed 10-Jul-19 22:06:40

Panarama programme devastating for Corbyn, the people he surrounds himself with and of course, the Labour Party.

POGS Wed 10-Jul-19 09:27:25

I ' believe ' the appointment of Jules Rutherford as Head of of the Labour Party Membership has gone ahead . Given the climate I am surprised this has not raised more interest , at least questioned given the climate .

I was intrigued to note it was Jules Rutherford who raised a petition to kick Alistair Campbell out of the Labour Party . It appears the Labour system of ' Auto Expelled ' was only made to one person, Campbell , whilst there was a chorus of others who openly state they did the exact same and did not vote Labour in the European Election.

'. A member of the Party who joins and/ or supports a political organisation other than an official Labour group or other unit of the Party, or supports any candidate who stands against an official Labour candidate, or publicly declares their intent to stand against a Labour candidate, shall automatically be ineligible to be or remain a Party member, subject to the provisions of Chapter 6.I.2 below of the disciplinary rules."

I understand the need for disciplinary rules but should that not apply to ALL Labour members and how does that fit with Labour members who voteagainst Labour by ' Tactical Voting '?

Anniebach Tue 09-Jul-19 22:22:18

It is Iam I feared those days would come back and they have. Kinnock fought a hard battle . Shortly after Corbyn became leader I was so angry and upset, Channel4 news showed how Corbyn has run a campaign from his home to get the Militants back in.

He was working against us activists who had a really rough time in the 80’s trying to get labour voters back after the 1983 election and Corbyn was trying to get Dennis Hatton and his lot back in the party, unforgivable.

Iam64 Tue 09-Jul-19 22:11:23

I’ve just seen a clip on Sky News of Labour supporters chanting ‘sack Tom Watson’ as Jeremy Corbin emerged
It’s terrifyingly reminiscent of the days of Militant, before Neil Kinnock threw them out

Anniebach Tue 09-Jul-19 19:14:31

Labours response -‘ it completely rejects false and offensive
claims and it is taking decisive action against anti-semetism ‘

If it doesn’t exist why are they taking decisive action against
it ? ?
