Just heard that they have added scaffolding to the Big Ben picture!

Might become a collectors item, in many, many years!

Will it keep that long phoenix ??

Nonnie Fri 31-May-19 17:47:51

Feels like they are attacking an institution but of course they will go back when the scaffolding comes down. Good marketing.

Actually, being pedantic, the picture is of The House of Commons blush

Thanks Phoenix I was just repeating what I heard on the radio, I don't eat the stuff!

I'm not a fan either Nonnie, but Mr P has been known to have brown sauce when having a bacon sandwich!

As a child I always preferred HP baked beans to Heinz though!

That's very clever.

definitely Big Ben

kittylester Sat 01-Jun-19 14:04:22

I always thought Big Ben was the name of the bell.

phoenix Sat 01-Jun-19 14:07:15

"kitty* you are correct, it IS the name of the largest bell!

phoenix Sat 01-Jun-19 14:08:31

Gonegirl the newspaper report is wrong!

Gonegirl Sun 02-Jun-19 20:11:31

the Beeb says it's right

phoenix Sun 02-Jun-19 20:14:50

The Beeb says "*commonly known as*".

Doesn't mean it's correct.

Gonegirl Sun 02-Jun-19 20:18:08

I don't know what you mean. Big Ben's definitely got scaffolding round it (the tower that's got the clock up the top of it) and they've put that on the HP label now.
