Well, there's 10 left in the race to be our next Prime Minister and voting starts tomorrow.

Who would you LIKE to be the next leader of the Tory party?

And who would you BET on?

JillT57 and Jura2 - I agree!

Jeremy Corbyn. The Tories have ruined the country. Capitalism is killing it. I honestly think we need a socialist government for everyone and to rebalance the scales.

Glad Esther McVile and Andrea Loathsome are out of the race they would have been truly dreadful. Doris is a lazy, lying scumbag who will bluster and wheedle his way to being PM and I can’t wait for his inevitable downfall. He gets the media attention and I’m sure he’s great at cocktail parties but will fail as PM. ( but the bar has been set pretty low by his predecessors).

Boris is topping the bill by a street. Leadsom, McVey et al are out.
Hunt is in second place with under 45votes while BJ gathered over 110.

For the sake of our country- anyone but Boris

Neilspurgeon0 Thu 13-Jun-19 16:21:14

Great reference Luckygirl but I still bet he’ll get the job!

Esther is out of it, Menopaws

Boris is bluffing his way through all this. He might be an academic but boy oh boy he hasn't got any sense. He's one crafty, cunning individual who's laughing at the general public who can't see through him . The " Will Hay " of politics ! All he's doing is appeasing the public with his Brexit vote when he's probably a closet Remainer at heart.

Rory Stewart hasn't got the strength of character to lead the party . He's made no difference to the prisons system !

My interest in all parties has sadly waned as they're there for their own ends and not those of the public who put them there.

Curlywhirly Thu 13-Jun-19 15:53:19

Boris for PM? Ye Gods, you couldn't make it up! Is that really the best they can do? We will be the laughing stock of the world.

LadyGracie Thu 13-Jun-19 15:53:16

Well said Peardrop50, I totally agree.

Grany Thu 13-Jun-19 15:51:29

Too True Agree with you.

Every one of the contenders is shabby and corrupt. What a bunch of malignant wasters!

jura2. My feeling exactly. FFS indeed.

GillT57 Thu 13-Jun-19 15:26:03

Can I just emphasise that not wanting Johnson to be PM does not automatically mean I want Corbyn even though this is the choice that Johnson has said is the only one.

jura2 Thu 13-Jun-19 15:24:46

FF 's sake - sorry could not help it

Menopaws Thu 13-Jun-19 15:24:32

Boris but please not Esther

FlexibleFriend Thu 13-Jun-19 15:22:14

I'd like Boris to become the next PM. I think he's up to the Job out of those remaining in the race.

Boris has memorised some Latin, he writes well and can be amusing.

Against that he is a serial cheat who does not read his briefing papers
and often uses language that I find offensive.

I would not want him to be making major decisions for all of us or representing this country on the world stage.

This does not mean that I like Corbyn. I can’t stand him either.

Max Hastings sums Johnson up nicely, as did Matthew Parris on Newsnight earlier this week. He was very careful about what he said but he hinted that there were some more things set to be revealed about Johnson. But as we have read on here and seen in USZ with Trump, some voters care not for the behaviour of their candidate as long as they deliver what they (think) they want. I just cannot understand how any woman can vote for either Johnson or Trump.

tanith Thu 13-Jun-19 15:17:18

How embarrassing makes me want to scream with frustration ???

Harmonygranny Thu 13-Jun-19 15:13:22

You are completely spot on Maisie. The party in power and the next P.M should be The Green Party or at least a party that understands the urgency of tackling climate change. After all, we're Grannies here, and most of us, I imagine are concerned by the possible future for our little ones......

Tillybelle

in croy a ble!

Rees-Mogg was asked about Boris's lack of 'moral compass' - and he replied it is not up to him to judge his personal life.
Asked about his mistress having to have an abortion, he replied again 'that he would not judge his personal life, and that it was nobody's business'

But I am pretty sure he judges the Mistress, and any woman who has had and will have, an abortion in the past and future- whatever the circumstances.
