Well, there's 10 left in the race to be our next Prime Minister and voting starts tomorrow.
Who would you LIKE to be the next leader of the Tory party?
And who would you BET on?
sorry for spelling mistake in name
Funckygran has a good point there. 12:03:32

What's the weather like on your planet?
Unfortunately the reality is if the next PM doesn’t “deliver Brexit” the Conservative Party is finished.
The Labour Party will lose its “leave voters”.
The above leaves the door wide open to Nigel Farage...........?????
However bad this lot are, surely, Jeremy Corbyn and his bunch would be even worse. They are in complete disagreement as well. I think the Monster Raving Loonies would be the best solution,or have we got them already?
If it is to be another female PM then Andrea.
Esther ? thanks but no thanks who tends to 'rant'
which leaves me feeling a need for air and the question 'what the was all that about.?'
Rory? yes, who delivers a convincing speech but can he put into practice what he preaches ?
Please - NOOOO
Oh, forgot to say - Nicola Sturgeon would be a good PM.
'None of the above' except Rory is the best of a bad bunch. What is really wrong is the system. At this crucial time, why should the paid-up members of any political party have the right to decide the individual who will govern us all? This is not true Democracy but a corrupted version of it.
I am reinforcing Offa's Dyke
The "leader" elections will involve all of 9000 Scots ..thats the total tory party membership here .They will deliver another unelected PM from a party that Scotland hasn't voted a majority for since 1955...64 years ..to deliver a Brexit we voted against .Democracy? I think not
Whoever it is we got into this mess because Cameron was afraid of Farage - if we leave will Farage go away? It seems they are all self serving and don’t care about the ordinary people. I liked Rory Stewart but it’s not going to happen - Boris the buffoon will get it
PS The only politician I have ever felt had any integrity and decency was Alan Johnson; sadly he is retired, and I haven't traditionally been a Labour supporter anyway!
Around here the French are horrified and laughing at the same time.
Do know what - I don't really care what the French think of us any more. They need to get their own country sorted out - and pdq.
Sadly, the plain facts are these:
- a (small) majority voted to leave
- the leave campaigns lied to the voting public (and, indeed, were fined for doing so)
- the effect of leaving, on the UK economy, will be a disaster.
There can be no serious doubt that leaving will cost each and every reader of this post possibly several thousand pounds in (depending on your current position):-
- higher cost of living (because we pay more in some tariffs; and the value of the pound falls against other currencies)
-poorer job prospects (we have lost a major trade deal and have little or nothing in place to replace it; plus the supply chain make sit more difficult to manufacture complex high value products - cars being just one example)
- poorer pensions for those who have or will have a pension pot invested in UK companies
Other countries will only negotiate trade deals with us on terms that are favourable to them; as they know that the UK will be desperate for trade deals. Trump, in the US, is just one extreme example - he has already made it clear that he wants access to OUR NHS. If you look at the US, their health service is a financial disaster for anyone who gets ill, especially in old age.
The sad irony of the current situation is that the conservatives were supposed to be the party of business - yet it is they who have and are continuing to create these massive problems for business and the UK economy - and they are actually quite open that they are only doing it because they are worried about losing a few votes to the far right.
Unfortunately the 'Brexit means Brexit' mindless slogan ignores the fact that we were not told what Brexit meant; and nobody seems to have mentioned the effect on the UK economy.
So - any of the current set of politicians will be a disaster!
No doubt, I will get a few negative comment about the above - but frankly I have tried to give a TRUE analysis.
The last three years have seen disillusionment growing by the day for me; a time when possibly the most serious decisions this country has had to face since a world war, and most politicians have been playing party politics and 'ner ner' games, scoring points off each other and blocking anything that the other side attempts. I cannot see that one of them has tried to do what is best for the country, they all seem to have their own petty agendas, clamouring to fight 'the other side'. I don't care who becomes PM; I now don't care if we stay in or leave, as doubtlessly the world is unfolding as it is meant to and whatever comes we will have to face it. I am now going back to stick my head in that big hole where it has been since I decided to opt out of paying attention to such destructive behaviour by our so called 'leaders'.
Billy Connelly ...well they are all comedians in their own way so why not get a professional one ?
I have never supported the Tory party but I very strongly value politicians with integrity - even when I do not agree with them - and I have to say that Dominic Raab has always been a man of integrity who speaks his mind with conviction and a principled base. He never dodges direct questions and has humility which for me is a trait of real strength in a person.
Boris will get it. Prime minister's question time is going to be worth watching I think....
How about Caroline Lucas? Well........a woman can dream! Like others, I don't want any of the Tory contenders in number 10 and dread Boris Johnson being there. So if it has to be a choice between Tories I hope for Stewart..... but wish, like many others, that we were not starating from here. However, reality is what we have to face and if I were a Tory I'd go for Stewart. Its too late to join the party in order to vote - though I think many right wing Brexit supporters with foresight did just that, three months or more ago.
Shoot the lot of them, except maybe RS. He could go for rehab. there is a glimmer of hope there.
Apart from David Lammy Labour is off the radar, IMHO.
A coalition of the Libdems, Greens and Change UK could perhaps give us back some credulity.
Did anyone see the Guardian article today giving the reaction of the EU countries at the thought of Boris as PM. Around here the French are horrified and laughing at the same time.
UK has become a joke and Boris as PM makes us an even bigger laughing stock. Please someone somewhere bring back some real statesmen.
entrails
(don't normally pick people up on spelling mistakes as I make many typos myself, but I am laughing and wondering what entails are, Rowantree!)
Rowantree why did that make me think of a witch out of Shakespeare?
Just beam Caroline Lucas up.
None of them. I hope their entails boil in their own urine.
