Most of the Conservative MPs are intelligent , I must suppose. I am not being sarcastic, I truly dont know why they want Johnson.

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 18:24:28

oh and day 6 ....yawn and sigh

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 18:23:35

So, he has faults but we like him because he is a bit like Churchill?

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 18:17:48

I am angered and saddened that people are so desperate to bring this bloody cataclysm down on our heads that they will accept this morally deficient man.

Could you kindly point out the fans of Boris Johnson GillT57?

Don't most of us see his faults?

It has to be said that holes have been picked in all the MPs looking for this promotion. It happens whenever there are choices to be made. Dare I say that many present MPs from all parts of the chamber are morally deficient, or repugnant in some way. A few names spring to mind..

What about ------------? grin.

I'll leave others to fill in the blanks.

belittled us for years

Who are these people with the ability to belittle a whole nation?

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 18:12:13

I do have opinions, of course I do?

But somehow I seem to able to add more than....Corbyn is a baddie or variations on said theme.

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 18:10:23

And Elvive with no opinions, but criticism of other posters or threads.

<yawn>

Your contribution is a fine example of bog standard predictability.

#leftwingpredictability

Bog standard predictability.

GillT57 Wed 19-Jun-19 17:58:49

The whataboutery on here is getting tiresome and predictable. I have aired on here often enough without repeating it just what my opinion of BJ is, and that is based on facts, not opinions ( although the opinions of some of his previous employers are astonishing). I am angered and saddened that people are so desperate to bring this bloody cataclysm down on our heads that they will accept this morally deficient man. I am really surprised that so many think he is an acceptable price to pay. As for your comment Lilyflower , just who are those ‘liberal’, we know better than you elitists who have berated, insulted and belittled us for years ? I for one would prefer courteous, polite diplomatic dealings with other countries rather than piggish bullying, but hey ho, what do I know eh?

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 17:53:13

Most people like Boris because he walks like a man, talks like a man and acts like a man

Well, that's different. confused How very strange....

You been watching too many old John Wayne films Chongolo?

Boris Johnson is many things, but he is not typical of many of the men I know, fortunately.

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 17:48:34

Oh for some originality, eh whitewave.

Bingo! You use "whataboutery" frequently. I am surprised you haven't accused posters of 'pearl-clutching' yet.

I daresay it will come. hmm

I totally agree with dragonfly46.

Cindersdad Wed 19-Jun-19 17:30:54

I cannot understand how anyone could elect a proven Liar as party leader, Only Rory Stewart appears to have any real integrity.

As for Labour until they ditch Jeremy Corbyn thye too are doomed!

We all know Brexit is dreadfully bad for Britain and it is a complete mystery why more MPs fail to say so.

Sooner or later they will be seen for what they are! The country will find it hard to forgive them.

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 17:16:44

Oh God here we go....

I don't like X

Oh but Y is much worse.

I don't like either of them!!!

Whitewavemark2 Wed 19-Jun-19 17:08:22

Oh dear I’ve just realised that you are up to your old tricks again day6

whataboutery still alive and kicking.

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 17:01:50

We have seen Corbyn's misogeny in the house, and have read reams about his 'forgetful' slips in supporting Jew-hating activities though, haven't we whitewave?

Not only that, he's been an apologist for Russia and he supports terrorist groups and the enemies of the UK.

Nice.

Hymnbook Wed 19-Jun-19 16:56:15

Has anyone been watching years and years on BBC 1 on a Tuesday evening. Clowns and monsters. Frightening to compare fact to fiction.

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 16:55:39

Lilyflower yes, it may be in BJs favour that he cannot be 'groomed'.

You are right. Most MPs have swallowed the conformist's "How to be bland and make no impression at all" handbook.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 19-Jun-19 16:54:10

lilyflower ???

Whitewavemark2 Wed 19-Jun-19 16:53:39

So you say day6 but the difference is that I have heard Johnson and his racist muttering, but I have never heard Corbyn utter a single racist remark. Have you?

Lilyflower Wed 19-Jun-19 16:49:19

Boris is the opposite of all those mealy mouthed, bureaucratic, data driven, administrative, managerial, Common Purpose, triangulating, ‘liberal’, we know better than you elitists who have berated, insulted and belittled us for years.

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 16:49:09

Calling out Johnson for the racist he is

Ah, but Jezza and many of his Labour comrades are a bit suspect too, aren't they?

Day6 Wed 19-Jun-19 16:45:57

Perhaps they want to watch him "crash and burn"!!!

There could be a case made for that perverse form of schadenfruede I think GG13

I hold that the MP to succeed May as PM could have a short-lived career.

I am surprised anyone put themselves forward for the post. I'd have happily sat back and let the other power-crazed suckers go for this one. grin Now is not a good time to be PM.

I imagine that Corbyn and Cable are pleased to let Brexit wranglings be the preserve of the Conservative Party.

On the other hand Boris (because there is no doubt he will replace May imo) could storm it. He could trample over all the soft negotiating that has gone before (which favoured the EU) and get us out to a thankful majority of the electorate. ("From zero to hero!" as my grandson exclaimed the other day.)

Brexit could be his equivalent of Thatcher's Falklands victory.

Or Boris could meet his own Waterloo if he plays it badly.

These times provide a spectator sport regarding the rise and fall of politicians, if nothing else.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 19-Jun-19 16:36:37

Ian Blackford on top form today.

Calling out Johnson for the racist he is.

Happiyogi Wed 19-Jun-19 16:35:03

Tillybelle I'm a big fan of words too, so I don't mind an opportunity to learn!

I felt that to use immoral would feel like me sitting in judgement of Johnson, whereas I was using amoral in the sense of someone who doesn't know or care if his actions are right or wrong - a person who has no conscience or scruples.

I don't know his mindset or why he behaves as he does. I only know that I consider his behaviour over many years renders him unfit for the high office he craves. And I think that's the nub of it - he's grasping for something he desperately wants for his own aggrandisement, rather than for the opportunity to give, and serve his country.

Elvive Wed 19-Jun-19 16:27:38

I'll let you shag my pig's head and so on.
