I don't think that half of America is looking aghast - after all they voted for Trump!
They probably think that Boris is really well-behaved.
Why doesn't Starmer hold another referendum?
Most of the Conservative MPs are intelligent , I must suppose. I am not being sarcastic, I truly dont know why they want Johnson.

I have to say the rest of the world, and US in particular have no business judging Boris for his adultery given the elected Kennedy and Clinton.....
The world is looking incredulous at the U.K. over Brexit and now it is unbelievable at the prospect of Johnson as prime minister.

Brexit does not have to happen. Although leaving did get a small majority of those who voted in the fraudulent referendum three years ago, we now know so much more about the damaging effects of any kind of brexit and all opinion polls for a very long time show a majority for Remain.
Every responsible MP should be concerned to do their primary duty never to damage the United Kingdom should vote to Revoke Article 50 so that we remain in the EU.
HildaW 10:38:36, What a wise post.
In truth, matter in Parliament have come to a head. I have never known such a shambles or a bunch of self-serving, point-scoring, untrustworthy politicians.
Johnson is one of a bad lot. If anything, Brexit has shone a light on the people who are representing us, and it's not a pretty sight. never have I known so many dodgy characters in positions of power.
In the house they want a vote of no confidence. Outside the house the public have little confidence in any of the major players right now.
The games playing has to stop. Brexit has to happen, the matter has to be resolved and then if there is a GE hopefully some of the MPs who have revealed they are not up to the job will fade into the background or lose their seats. The winds of change need to blow through the House of Commons.
Brexit is the stumbling block. We need forward movement, and soon. I don't care much who takes the reins now as long as we exit the EU. Whoever becomes the next PM his tenure will be short lived. Thank goodness.
Imo Ed would be better not to remain more dignified.
I meant that Ed would be better to remain more dignified.
He is not being dignified in that picture, GrannyGravy!
I was obviously in need of a strong coffee when I posted.
OK, never mind his private, shambolic life.
Surely the fact he is incapable, cannot stop lying, bumbling, has not got a clue, and cannot be trusted in any way shape or form- is enough NOT to elect him.
Stewart said it very clearly in LBC interview- he would be terrible for the image of the country, and will probably be tripped up by his worst enemy - himself.
I was answering GrannyGravy's post so thought my remark was relevant.
Imo Ed would be better not to remain more dignified.
He could have expressed himself better than that.
Not as PM - chance would be a fine thing!
I include the Liberal Party too and yes, I was a fan of Thorpe, but never did like Smith the paedophile even before the revelations.
I did know we were expecting the Lib Dems to thrust a sexually incontinent liar on us as PM Callistemon. When did that happen?
Many of the Lib Dems were/are no better than others in their private lives, GrannyGravy.
Look at all the scandals.
For most politicians their private lives are private and should stay that way, but now and again, you get politicians where there private lives are so messy and/or public that, one cannot but ask as to what that tells you about the general way they conduct their life in private or public.
Cecil Parkinson's behaviour after he was caught out with a pregnant mistress, said a lot about him, none of it to his credit, he paid her off (he could afford to) and had absolutely nothing to do with his daughter after she was born, even when she was diagnosed with disabilities. Never saw her, or expressed anything but cold indifference.
Boris is much the same, two marriages down and a third in the offing, constant infidelities, one acknowledged love-child and much talk of at least one more. This fits with innumerable stories of his capacitiy as a liar on matters large and small. His close friendship with Darius Guppy, a convicted fraudster, who asked him to get a journalist's address because he wanted them to have something nasty happen to them. Boris didn't do it but, he evaded giving him a direct refusal.
As Max Hastings has said examples of two enduring facets of his character: first, he will say absolutely anything to man, woman or child that will give them pleasure at that moment, heedless of whether he may be obliged to contradict it ten minutes later. Second, having registered his wild-card status as a brand, he exploits it to secure absolution for a procession of follies, gaffes, idiocies and scoundrelisms, such as would destroy the career of any other man or woman in journalism, never mind government.
In fact Max Hasting's whole article is worth reading.

Could anyone vote for this man to be Prime Minster?
GG13 Yes, both sides have supporters that think that the other side are 'nasty'. Pots calling kettles black, as far as I am concerned.
Crystaltips it's an old photo. Could it be from Johnson's album - or his girlfriend's? I don't think that's a worry. The fact that the man appears to be barking most definitely is.
I find it bizarre that people feel its ok to separate out a person's 'private' life from their 'public' one. I am using the inverted commas because I feel its a ridiculous concept. we are all who we are......we are either trustworthy or not.
To be honest having deceitful politicians is not a new thing, and in many ways that's not the problem. What we have nowadays are politicians gaining and maintaining power much more for their own self aggrandisement and profit. I see very few in power who are actually taking stock of what the electorate wants, charting a course and carrying out a policy they believe in and truly feel is for the good of the country. At the moment all we have are people out for themselves and the folks they consider are 'in their gang'.

Johnson has been unfaithful so many times he’s got it off to a fine art now so I would not worry on that score.
It is just that lying seems to have become a way of life with him such that his moral platform is void of any dignity or reliability.
Boris Johnson is quite a flawed man. It bothers me how he will react if his vision ofBrexit does not materialise. Chickens coming home to roost. There is a limit to self delusion and denial.
It also bothers me that to cope with the momentous decisions he will have to make he would benefit from a stable family life. It seems as if his relationship is fairly new not properly tested and perhaps he hasn’t come to terms with his wife ending their marriage. Not the best place to be when taking on leader of country going through its own divorce.
Boris has said that the UK would unilaterally secure the rights of EU citizens to remain living and working in the UK post Brexit.
crystaltipps - oh surely not, surely not (much ...)
My DH has just told me of a conversation he had with someone before Trump even became president.
The person in question (a farmer, not that it's relevant) joked about the unlikely future scenario where Trump was US president and Boris our prime minister - he said it would be like having "the Chuckle Brothers" in charge!
As long as he delivers on Brexit I don’t care about his sex life.
Jeez. His sex life is the least of our worries. His LYING, LAZINESS and INCOMPETENCE worry me greatly. As do you Leavers who appear to have no moral compass whatsoever (assuming that you even know what 'moral compass' means)
I’m sure certain posters will demand to know the political leanings and views on Brexit of the photographer. I bet he was paid by the newspapers too.
It’s very upsetting that Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds’s privacy has been invaded once again. This time by a photographer who appears to have been hiding in exactly the right bush to capture a picture of them holding hands to demonstrate their love. Can’t have been stage managed.
