No, more disrespectful and utterly contemptable.

Brexit is all about damaging our country in the hope of weakening the EU.

That is why it has been relentlessly promoted by Vladimir Putin.

Many decent folk might have been fooled along the way but the time has come fore us all to wake up and resist this contemptable movement and stop brexit.

Varian far less contemptible than wearing a “t shirt” with “Bo***cks to
Brexit” emblazoned on?????

This from one of the idiots who want to destroy the EU and turned their backs when our "Ode to Joy" was played. Contemptable.

The EU Parliament only sits 60 days per year apparently, nice job if you can get it?????

I think 'some' in France are getting a little bit concerned.
This from Reuters.
Robert Ophele, France's top financial regulator is demanding the restrictive eu rules change as they currently leave little room for national authorities to adapt to changing inviroments, such as Brexit.

I think it was a question of us treating them with more respect. We were one of the Big Three and a lot of EU initiatives came from the UK. Respect from our government but journalists like one A.B P. Johnson liked to amuse themselves by making things up about the EU when they were reporting from Brussels. And a lot of the made up stuff stuck...

The EU started a 'Euromyths' blog in about 1992, full of UK media stories about the EU that weren't true, or distorted the truth. It's huge...

At least it shows how much the EU want us to stay in. Perhaps if they had appreciated us more and treated us with more respect we wouldn't have needed to have a referendum and wouldn't be in this quandary!

And of course the time when Gordon brown became prime minister when Tony Blair stood down....or is that ‘different’?

paddyann Mon 15-Jul-19 16:15:23

a bit like the tory leadership"contest" then ..we dont get a say in who is standing and we dont get a vote to say who wins.Thats democracy
?

Urmstongran Mon 15-Jul-19 13:38:47

The fuss was because democracy failed. Ursula von der Leyen was nominated to swap the German defence ministry for the president's office at the European Commission.

Some have hailed this "top job" pick as a victory for equality, but others are much less happy – including many of the members of the European Parliament, who will be voting on July 16 on whether to confirm Von der Leyen for the job.

More shenanigans!

EllanVannin Mon 15-Jul-19 13:38:06

Yes !

MaizieD Mon 15-Jul-19 13:19:49

That's assuming that she is voted in.

Funny, that. So much fuss on here a few days ago about her being a shoein and how it was undemocratic and the EP had no say on her appointment... hmm

petra Mon 15-Jul-19 13:12:53

That's assuming that she is voted in.
At the moment she can only count on 179 votes from the EPP. That means she still has a way to go to get the 374 needed.
The Greens and far left aren't backing her.

Alima Mon 15-Jul-19 13:06:55

Though not to actually discuss how to get us out of the damn thing, just to prolong the agony? Sounds remarkably unhelpful to me.

GrandmaKT Mon 15-Jul-19 12:58:08

Great news! So there is absolutely no need to go out with No Deal. The new PM will have time to show of their negotiating skills to the full.

Firecracker123 Mon 15-Jul-19 12:21:44

Of course she is, she wants to extend talks forever lol. She's hoping Labour or Lib Dems get a majority if there is a general election and that will be the end of Brexit and we will be shackled to the EU for ever, what a thought.

Urmstongran Mon 15-Jul-19 11:55:39

How much longer are they going to drag this out.
31 October is long enough.

kittylester Mon 15-Jul-19 11:32:56

Nooooo!! I can't cope. grin

dragonfly46 Mon 15-Jul-19 10:49:56

Have just heard that Ursula von der Leyen, who is thought to become the new EU chief has said she is open to discussion to extend Brexit beyond October.
