I can imagine we will be horror struck as next week plays out. The cabinet will be a sight to behold.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 17:53:37

Sensible imo.

I see he’s dropped the target for net migration.

No surprise as Johnson is very liberal regarding inward migration.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 17:49:42

It seems Johnson has uttered his first lie at the dispatch box.

Asked by SNP member Deirdre Brockets, why he had visited Cambridge Analytica

Johnson replied that he couldn’t remember.

Anyone believe that?

jura, I think Cameron et al forgot about Ireland. Ashen faces the day after the vote, confusion all round.

jura2 Thu 25-Jul-19 16:12:49

In other words, spot on- incompatible, and the EU won't be fooled or scared by Baffoon Boris :

Boris knows there is NO answer or solution to the Irish border- none whatsoever. That was clear 2 years ago, and as Javid says, that was at a time when a Deal was in sight- and not now, when No Deal throws much much larger problems.

Watch Javid replying to Yvette Cooper, quite a long time ago And now we are 2 months away, with a possible No Deal- how on earth does Boris think (he doesn't actually, it is all bluster and bluff, and he himself, and the EU, know this full well):

I actually hope that the most formidable, inside knowledgeable backbencher, will be the very Theresa herself. She knows it all, from the inside- and will actually be so so much better and formidable from the backbenches.

lemongrove Thu 25-Jul-19 15:18:04

Is the heavyweight backbencher Ken Clarke by any chance?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 15:15:45

I think Johnson will find that an issue barmey . There are a lot of heavyweight backbencher who are clearly very worried and not natural supporters of Johnson.

Firecracker123 Thu 25-Jul-19 15:12:24

What did you expect he'd just got the sack ?

Barmeyoldbat Thu 25-Jul-19 15:09:54

Just happy to see Boris make so many enemies within his own party, including my very own MP cam Fox, did you see his face as he left no 10

growstuff Thu 25-Jul-19 15:06:25

In what way?

petra Thu 25-Jul-19 15:04:53

Serous head on again ?
I see that Boris has refused to nominate a commissioner to send to the eu.
Shows good intention ?

petra Thu 25-Jul-19 15:02:29

Annie
It's called the Corbyn Hokey Cokey.
All together now.
You put your vote leave in, your vote out, in out in out and shake it all about.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 14:45:09

Johnson behaved exactly as you would expect.

Whether that is how you expect a Prime Minister to behave is certainly a matter of personal taste.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 14:43:32

Oh dear, they seem to be shuttling back on the promise to the EU citizens according to IDS. Johnson promised legislation but that now seems not to be the case. No difference to Mays position in that case.

lemongrove Thu 25-Jul-19 14:40:10

Did you watch today Annie ?

lemongrove Thu 25-Jul-19 14:38:48

It made great tv (HOC) today.
Boy did he give Corbyn and McDonnell a hard time.?
Corbyn didn’t know what hit him!

I think his bombastic nature ( there were no insults or abuse btw) is what is expected of him.
Theresa May tried being reasonable and pleasing all sides....
It didn’t work.
This may not work either, but it’s a different approach at least, and the EU know they have a choice ( if they want their billions) and that choice means some compromise on their side, so far it’s all been on our side.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 14:33:26

Hello annie still on your wagon I see.

Anniebach Thu 25-Jul-19 14:32:28

Johnson wants out.

What does Corbyn want ? out, remain, maybe out, maybe
remain

jura2 Thu 25-Jul-19 14:29:31

Indeed, and yet - I thought at least for his first day- he would try to contain the bombastic nature, gesturing red face and shouting abuse and insults- and at least TRY to answer a couple of questions at least - but no.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 14:17:43

jura nothing new. He will be hoisted by his own petard. We only have to sit back and watch. Time to take life easy and have fun as he bumbles around trying to manage all the huge egos in his cabinet and attempting to square the circle that is Brexit.

jura2 Thu 25-Jul-19 14:07:39

shouting, red faced, out of control, crazy gesturing, personal insults and attacks - to cover for the fact he has NOT a SINGLE answer to the questions asked. Especially those from Cooper and Benn. He knows full well there is NO solution to the backstop and the Irish border- none whatsoever. He also knows it will always be 100% unacceptable to the EU and to the USA Government.

Whitewavemark2 Thu 25-Jul-19 13:28:07

Another Impressive u-turn.

Johnson consistently voted against climate change measures.

Seems vastly enthusiastic about them at the moment.

Hope he is telling the truth.

Beammeupscottie Thu 25-Jul-19 13:21:03

I predict he will be kippered by Christmas.
