Please could someone tell me why I should be really worried about Brexit with no deal

Now we have Boris and a completely different cabinet with a ‘can do’ approach.

I think if you read yellowhammer and WTO rules you will get a picture of what is going to happen. I think it will worry you. You might also like to look at how the £ has dropped since the vote in 2016, over 25%.

Alternatively you can find excuses for all of the above and bury your head in the sand. Entirely up to you.

Will it affect me? Yes it already has, we have American shares which are worth 25% more than they were before the £ crashed so we are making a profit! Yes, food will be more expensive and some may be limited, if my meds are unavailable I will probably die. We can afford to pay more and are retired so son't need to worry about losing jobs. Looks like we will be OK but what about all those who won't?

I admire those MPs who have put their jobs on the line for the sake of the country.

If we have no deal then we have to revert to World Trade Organization rules and that means tariffs. So what we sell abroad will have tariffs added making our goods more expensive. That is the crux of the matter.

Should we be stockpiling Italian tinned tomatoes and pasta?

I think people have got themselves worked up into a state. Westminster should have agreed to Theresa's deal and they'd be well down the road sorting out the various issues and possibly even having a general election. They didn't and are paying the price now. Three years blethering and they've achieved nothing. Boris has taken a decisive step in attempt to just move things on.

I alternate between quiet desperation and fear Gillybob, I have relatives in the freight forwarding industry, chiefly transporting food between Scotland and Europe, and they are deeply worried. It wouldn't be so concerned if I thought we had a responsible government to see us through the coming rough tides, but Gove who changes his statements with the wind does not inspire my confidence, and I think my opinion on the character of Johnson is well known and needs no repeating. Corbyn is a bland, helpless, ineffective waste of space, Jo Swinson is well meaning but totally out of her depth, we really need some grown ups to step in and sort this mess out. I feel for you, I have been there, with responsibility for paying other people's rent and it is a lonely place Gilly.

I feel quite depressed when I think of it. Everyone debating it and speculating it . I wish it was here and then what ever the out come, we will just have to get on with it .

No-one can possibly know why this abject, dreadful situation, and the UK ont he brink of civil war - is not making you worry. There could be several explanations- and it is best if I keep my guesses to myself, really.

In fact- am going to give GN a wide birth for a while - as I would otherwise probably be banned soon. Enough is enough.
