It is the bullies and liars on the Leave side that have been calling all the shots ever since they cheated their way to a narrow victory in the fraudulent referendum three years ago.

Most of us in this country have had enough of them and their whole corrupt brexit project. It is time it was stopped for good.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Sept-19 15:48:58

Varian there are bullies and liars on both side of the political divide, something I find abhorrent.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Sept-19 15:47:37

WWMK2 A deal has always been preferable to no deal.

It just cannot keep being delayed as the uncertainty is not helping businesses.

varian Sun 01-Sept-19 15:47:12

Day 6 seems to think that to be regarded as "fair and reasonable" people who voted to Remain, because they could see the damage that leaving would do to our country, now have to give in to the Leave Liars and bullies. That is neither fair nor reasonable.

Whitewavemark2 Sun 01-Sept-19 15:37:21

Giving the potential for legislation to stop no deal next week, I think that those hoping to leave with a deal really ought to welcome it as it is much more likely for a deal to go through the House if no deal is off the table as many in the ERG and hard right would like to crash out, and if no deal is gone then they will go for a deal rather than lose Brexit altogether.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Sept-19 15:30:37

Day6 I voted leave, and totally against Corbyn taking over!!

Day6 Sun 01-Sept-19 15:29:37

Apologies - I should have said MOST Remainers.

I know many who are fair and reasonable and they believe that we must leave the EU, and soon, as now the delays and uncertainty rather than the act of leaving is damaging the UK.

Day6 Sun 01-Sept-19 15:27:07

Out of interest do you.... think that Corbyn et al who would literally take over ' the executive/Parliament ' and install an ' Unelected Prime Minister ' would be a dictatorship?

Would you think that is a coup worth demonstrating against or would that be perfectly acceptable?

Exactly POGS. Remainers don't seem to understand the terms "coup" and "democracy" do they?

Utter hypocrites.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Sept-19 15:22:40

If Corbyn et al manage to get through an extension on 31/10/19, all Boris has to do is use the UKs veto as an extension will need the approval of all 28 States?

I really am a bit baffled by the Archbishop of Canterbury's change of heart in just a few days:

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/aug/27/dont-interfere-with-brexit-archbishop-of-canterbury-justin-welby-told

Maybe the Brexiters who told him to keep his nose out of politics were right after all.

Urmstongran Sun 01-Sept-19 14:51:38

Oh well, it was worth a punt.

Miche Sun 01-Sept-19 14:41:57

I agree with you

growstuff Sun 01-Sept-19 14:41:43

Errrmmm! Exactly!

varian Sun 01-Sept-19 14:40:24

The Archbishop has got himself into an illogical position.

If you set an open forum or peoples' assembly to examine a difficult question, by hearing evidence and weighing up the arguments on both sides before coming to a conclusion and making recommendations, you cannot start by telling one side that whatever happens their point of view will never be upheld.

sarahellenwhitney Sun 01-Sept-19 14:36:41

Pogs
Ask that in the middle of winter not on a beautiful sunny summers day.wink

growstuff Sun 01-Sept-19 14:30:39

A few days ago, the Archbishop of Canterbury was considering chairing a forum to heal divisions caused by Brexit. He doesn't seem to have grasped that telling people to stop whingeing isn't likely to heal anything.

You just lost your penny in my case , POGS! wink

Urmstongran Sun 01-Sept-19 14:25:13

The Archbishop of Canterbury has called for Remainers to “stop whingeing” and accept the result of the Brexit referendum.

The Most Rev Justin Welby said those who voted to stay in the EU must now “take seriously the fact that the majority voted Leave”, stating: “We may not like it, but that is democracy.”

humptydumpty Sun 01-Sept-19 14:23:14

Completely agree.

varian Sun 01-Sept-19 14:20:45

In our parliamentary democracy the people elect MPs and the MPs chose the PM, so if Corbyn or anyone else can gain the confidence of more that half of the MPs, he or she becomes PM. That would not be an unelected PM nor would it be a dictatorship.

If this were to happen in the present circumstances, the new PM would only be supported to stop no deal brexit and then call a general election. That would be perfectly acceptable.

POGS Sun 01-Sept-19 14:15:44

"Protesters demand Boris Johnson 'stop the coup' as thousands march across UK against parliament shutdown"
----

Fair enough.

I bet a pound to a penny those ' principled' demonstrators however feel that Corbyn et al taking over ' the Executive/Parliament' and installing a truly ' UNELECTED PRIME MINISTER' is not equally what they see as ' a coup'

They would be marching up and down the country ' calling for a coup'.

Hypocrisy.

POGS Sun 01-Sept-19 14:07:26

Barmeyoldbat

Barmeyoldbat Sat 31-Aug-19 16:21:59
'Mr Barmey and I have just got back from the demonstration in Bristol, which was supported by all ages and dare I say classes. At least I feel I am doing something to show my concern for this country and displeasure with having a dictator as a leader. I agree with every thing you Trish and Varian posted.'

Out of interest do you Barmeyoldbats think that Corbyn et al who would literally take over ' the executive/Parliament ' and install an ' Unelected Prime Minister ' would be a dictatorship?

They now realise that what they promised is undeliverable and they don't care about Ireland.

From having read Cummings' blog and followed him when he was Gove's SPAD, he's a nihilist, who opposes any form of representative democracy, which includes the civil service and the law.
